"So what's the deal with these?" Andrea asked, gesturing at the hourglass-shaped oddities at the side of the table. They were old fashioned constructions of glass and wood, with colorful ends and etched brass plaques in each base.
"What do you think?" prompted Kyle.
"I get this one…" she said, lifting the glass that read Feed Me. Flipping it over, she saw that the other end read Full! She'd been to restaurants with that system before. It was a convenient way to let the servers bringing items around know when you'd had enough, so they wouldn't disturb you unnecessarily.
She put it back down, still reading Feed Me.
"Lovely evening, isn't it!" came a jovial voice almost immediately.
