"You might as well turn around and wave hello," chuckled Cohen. He gave an upward nod to Vargas.
Andrea turned to watch Vargas approach without stopping at the bar first. There was a flash of recognition as the detective spotted them both.
She turned to Kyle and subtly gestured under the table for him to move around the u-shaped booth bench and make room. Kyle frowned and shook his head. Apparently he wasn't keen on cozying up to Cohen and Vargas in the booth.
Vargas simplified things by grabbing a free chair from a nearby table on his way and sitting at the end of the booth. Maybe he wasn't enthusiastic about getting too cozy either.
"Seriously, Wynn, are you angling for me to put you on the payroll?"
"Just being prompt in following good advice when I hear it, detective," said Kyle with a friendly smile.
"And what has the co-operative Mr Wynn been telling you?" Vargas asked, not turning to look at Cohen.
