"How could you accuse my master of such a dirty crime?" the lady who had rescued the woman earlier yelled, pointing her sword at me. I guess she's with Zhang Han.
Zhang Han held my hand and dragged me in front of the crowd all the way out of the inn until we reached an enclosed place, where he finally let go of my hand.
"You were saying something earlier?" he asked, his eyes full of anger and hatred.
"What did you say I...did earlier?" He asked a second time, his gaze fixed directly on me as I stood there, glaring at him like a piece of wood.
"Whoa...so you've suddenly become mute. Where's that brave lady inside who was accusing me of various atrocities?" he said, his hand placed between his eyebrows indicating his frustration.
"I guess I had the wrong guy. I'm sorry," I managed to say, trembling in fear.
"I hate ladies like you the most. What can your sorry fix now? Will you go in there and tell all those men that you got the wrong man and I'm innocent?" he asked with seriousness in his tone.
"I just said I'm sorry. What else do you want me to do? You guys are different, but I'm not to blame for you having a pervert face," I said, rolling my eyes at him.
"Really? You really are shameless. I despise ladies like you to the bone," he said as he walked away from me.
"Shameless!" the lady said, looking directly at my face before following Zhang Han, and they both disappeared into the capital city.
"Did she just call me shameless? Arrrrrgh...that stinky little dirty bitch is sure bold," I said with my mouth agape. Luli finally came out of the inn and walked towards me.
"Where have you been? I've been looking for you," she said as soon as she spotted me. Is it the time she's supposed to come?? She didn't appear when I needed her to deal with that brat, I thought, looking at her with anger.
"Did someone offend you? Why are you so angry?" she asked worriedly as she stared at me.
"Don't kill me with questions, please. You have bad timing," I said angrily, walking dejectedly back to the inn.
"You should just tell me what is wrong. Who got you so angry?" she yelled after me until we reached the room. That Zhang Han earlier seems different. Is he a different one from the modern Zhang Han? But still, how could he call me shameless? He's the shameless one here, I thought.
"What are you thinking about?" asked Luli, bringing me back from my thoughts.
"The people at the restaurant told me you had a fight with a man. Who's the man, your highness?" she asked with a serious look while facing me.
"You already gathered information about that?" I said, looking at her in disbelief.
"I asked when I followed you back to the room. They told me the man slept with...and errrrrm...," she stuttered as she tried to explain what she heard.
"Huh? They even told you that?" I asked, raising my eyebrows at her.
"Who did you sleep with? When did you have a friend that I know nothing about?" she asked, confused.
"Those people are really good at gossiping. When did I ever say anything like that?" I said, trying to cover up my mess with a lie.
"But hundreds of people are saying it," she said confidently.
"What? Hundreds of people!!! Don't they have work to do? Are they that jobless?" I asked, trying to confirm what I heard again.
This human world is really something. How come they've already broadcasted what happened earlier to everyone? This is crazy!
"It's fine if you don't want to tell me about having a friend, but do you also have a lover, a human?" she resumed her questions.
This girl would have been a newscaster or a lawyer in the modern world. Being the demon queen's maid is just a waste of talent, I thought, shaking my head in pity.
"I don't have any lover, okay? The people might be drunk," I said.
"But..."
"No but, please. Enough of the interrogation. I'm tired from today's drama, and I deserve some rest," I said with a frown.
"Gang sent a letter, your highness," she said as she cast a spell that revealed a white paper wrapped with a black piece of cloth.
"The guy whose back I crushed, how's his injury now?" I asked, unwrapping the paper that she had given me.
"He's better," she replied with a bright smile.
"Who is he, by the way? I remember you two were the first people I saw when I got here," I asked.
"Did you forget about him? You've changed recently, your highness. What's wrong exactly?" she asked, and I could see tears forming in her eyes.
"I...you...You see, I lost my memory, and I really need you to remind me about certain things," I stuttered as I tried to explain to her.
"Memory? How's that possible?" she asked, waiting for an answer.
"I still have my powers, and you know that. Spare me the silly questions and help me whenever I need information from you," I said, to which she nodded affirmatively. But sadness could be seen on her face, and I knew she still had thousands of questions to ask me.
"He's your bodyguard," she finally revealed, her head bowed in sadness.
"Oh, I see. Enough of the sad face, please," I said, glancing through the letter.
"What does it say, your highness?" she asked after noticing the sudden change in my expression after reading the letter.
"The Council of Elders is demanding my presence," I said.
"Ohh, those old men can't live a day without seeing you," she said with an outburst of laughter.
But what does she mean by that? Anyway, I'm glad she finally smiled. It's the first time I've seen her smile, and I really do love her smile, I thought.
"We have to go back to the demon realm, your highness," she said with seriousness laced in her tone.
"Of course, let's set out now," I replied with the calmest tone ever. I have to organize some things before joining the Mount Hui contest. I have to let that lady general know...what's her name again? That's not necessary though. I'll just tell her or brainwash them all and return as soon as possible to this beautiful colorful world.
