Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Strong people protects Weak people

In a secluded town, far removed from the bustling city, a clandestine facility concealed its operations from prying eyes. Within its walls, a team of scientists dedicated themselves to researching the virus and the facility itself, monitoring the ongoing situation with Legacy and the horde of infected monsters.

News of Hiro's recent battle against the monster had spread like wildfire through social media. Sensing the danger of public awareness, a man in a military suit directed his assistant to erase all traces of the footage, ensuring that the existence of the infected and their monstrous counterparts remained a secret from the world.

"Myra, I want every piece of footage regarding yesterday's incident erased. We cannot afford the public to discover their existence," the man commanded.

The assistant nodded, swiftly carrying out the order, while the man turned back to his duties.

In another corner of the facility, a commanding figure entered the scene. Towering in stature, his countenance exuded a fierce determination.

"Good to see you again, General!" greeted the man, identified as Commander Kairos Vanguard, as he spotted a familiar face.

"Commander Kairos Vanguard," the General acknowledged, extending a formal greeting.

"Reporting for duty, sir!" Kairos responded with a salute, his voice resonating with unwavering loyalty.

The general led Kairos to a briefing room, where they reviewed footage of Legacy's battle against the infected.

"Infected," Kairos remarked, his eyes fixed on the recorded encounter.

"I see you've done your homework," the general remarked, a note of approval lacing his words.

The general moved around the room, engaging Kairos in conversation.

"This means you already understand why you've been called here," the general surmised.

With that, the general opened a briefcase, revealing a driver that bore subtle differences from the Legacy driver.

"Yeah," Kairos replied, reaching out to retrieve the driver. As he held it in his hands, a surge of determination coursed through him.

"I will eradicate every single one of them," Kairos declared, his grip on the driver tightening.

Meanwhile, back at the professor's lab, Hiro and the professor toiled away on an experiment, hoping to unlock a breakthrough in their search for a cure. Despite their relentless efforts, their progress remained elusive, leaving both Hiro and the professor disheartened.

"Another failure..." Hiro sighed, a tinge of sadness coloring his voice.

"We can't win them all," the professor consoled, attempting to lift their spirits. "Sometimes, progress requires perseverance in the face of setbacks."

Hiro's gaze wandered towards the monitor, catching sight of the viral footage capturing his battle against the infected.

"It seems that Legacy's existence is drawing increasing attention," Hiro observed.

"Perhaps you should exercise more caution in public," the professor retorted, his glare directed at Hiro.

"Eh? It's not my fault that the infected are making themselves more visible," Hiro defended himself, seeking justice in his words.

The professor rested his hand on his chin, assuming his customary contemplative pose.

"But you're right. The infected have indeed become more brazen in their appearances before the public," the professor conceded.

Hiro, too, began to ponder the professor's words, contemplating the shift in the infected's behavior. It was then that his attention was drawn to the monitor, as the footage of his battle suddenly vanished.

"Again?" Hiro exclaimed, taken aback by the sudden deletion.

"This marks the third time since our last encounter," the professor remarked, his displeasure evident.

"They're finally making their move," the professor mused, his voice filled with concern.

As confusion swirled around the erased footage, alarm bells blared throughout the facility. The professor swiftly activated a monitor, revealing the presence of a new infected creature wreaking havoc in the city.

"Infected!" Hiro exclaimed, leaping out of his chair.

Snatching up the Legacy Driver, Hiro prepared to rush out, only to be halted by the professor's firm grip.

"Take this with you," the professor instructed, presenting Hiro with a new badge.

"A new badge?" Hiro questioned, his curiosity piqued.

"Yes, although we couldn't utilize the extracted essence for a cure, it can certainly augment the capabilities of the Legacy," the professor explained.

"Go now, before it terrorizes innocent lives," the professor urged.

Hiro nodded, his resolve reignited, and he set off to confront the infected.

Arriving at the designated location, Hiro caught sight of the infected, shambling about like a mindless zombie.

"I've found you!" Hiro declared, a hint of joy in his voice.

"Wait right there. I'm going to save you," Hiro announced to the infected.

He readied the Legacy Driver, prepared to initiate his transformation, but was suddenly interrupted by a commanding voice.

"Target acquired!" a man shouted.

Startled, Hiro concealed the Legacy Driver within his bag. Before him stood Kairos, who ignored Hiro's presence, his focus fixed ahead.

"Ordinary citizens should not be here. Find safety," Kairos commanded, his gaze unwavering.

Approaching the infected, Hiro attempted to intervene, but his shock only grew as he witnessed Kairos produce a driver from his briefcase.

"A driver?" Hiro murmured under his breath.

The professor, observing the unfolding scene, shared Hiro's astonishment.

"No way. How did they manage to replicate my work?" the professor muttered, disbelief etched on his face.

Kairos fastened the driver to his belt, retrieving his badge.

"Do not concern yourself with me," Kairos declared firmly.

"Protecting the weak is the duty of the strong," he proclaimed, inserting his badge into the driver.

"Vortech!" the driver's voice boomed, indicating the transformation.

"Transform," Kairos commanded.

In an instant, Kairos became Armor Gaiden: Vortech, emanating an aura of power and resolve. He engaged the infected, his movements fluid and precise, showcasing his newfound abilities.

With every strike, Kairos thwarted the infected's attacks, leaving no room for retaliation. Ultimately, he unleashed a series of powerful moves, inflicting severe damage upon the creature.

The infected staggered under the onslaught, weakened but not fully humanized. To complete the transformation, the professor's extraction core was needed, but Hiro couldn't risk exposing his identity. Thus, he awaited Kairos departure, hoping to seize the opportunity afterward.

"He defeated it," Hiro marveled quietly.

Kairos, having emerged victorious, approached the fallen infected. Hiro and the professor watched in disbelief as Kairos drew his gun and fired at point-blank range, extinguishing the creature's life. In an instant, the infected disintegrated into dust, leaving no trace behind.

Hiro stood frozen, the image of Kairos committing such a ruthless act etched in his mind. In that moment, Hiro found himself questioning the true nature of this supposed savior—wondering if he was, perhaps, more horrific than the infected themselves.
