Priscilla's POV
The piercing cries of the twins jolted me out of my deep slumber. As I groggily opened my eyes, I realized that I had fallen asleep on the chair in the nursery. My eyes scanned around the room, taking in the sight of the two tiny beings in their cribs, wailing at the top of their lungs. But what struck me the most was the absence of Max. He wasn't in the room, which meant that I had slept alone. I knew that Max would never leave me alone with the babies, especially at night when I couldn't sleep without him by my side. It dawned on me that Max was angry with me. I had lied to him , and he couldn't forgive me for it. The realization hit me hard, and I knew I was the one to blame. If only I had been honest with him, things wouldn't have gotten so complicated.
