Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Priscilla's POV

I was seething with anger as this foolish man forcefully dragged me up the stairs. Initially, I had believed him to be a good-hearted individual who genuinely wanted to assist me. However, it quickly became apparent that he was just like all the other wealthy men I had encountered. He thought it was a brilliant idea to deceive me and involve me in this nonsensical situation. And now, to make matters worse, he was fabricating a pregnancy that never even existed in the first place. I desperately needed to devise a plan, and I needed to do so swiftly. The thought of remaining in this colossal house, brimming with constant drama, was utterly exhausting. I had just lost my dear mother, and I simply did not possess the energy to deal with the tumultuous dynamics of this husband and wife.

Finally, we arrived at the room where I was to be confined. He forcefully swung the door open, yanking me inside, and promptly slammed it shut. With a resounding click, he locked the door and released his grip on my hand.

"I want to leave this place. I cannot bear to stay here any longer," I stated icily, my voice laced with determination.

"Do you even comprehend the consequences of your actions? I am completely drenched because of you, and yet you have the audacity to demand to leave?" he retorted, his gaze filled with anger. Although I could sense his fury, I couldn't bring myself to care about his feelings.

I stood there, arms crossed over my chest, glaring daggers at him as I posed the question, "Whose fault is it that you are drenched?"

"It's your fault, of course. Who poured water on me?"He responded, frustration evident in his tone,

I couldn't help but feel a surge of anger. "Don't act as if I'm the crazy one here, okay? I don't go around pouring water on innocent people. You put me in the middle of your affairs, and now you're lying, saying that I'm pregnant when I'm not. Was I supposed to keep quiet and let you do as you please?" I asked, my gaze fixed on him, my eyes filled with intensity. "Listen here, as long as you continue to put me in this tough spot, I won't let it pass. You will make me leave this house, just wait and watch."

He smirked, a hint of arrogance in his voice. "Unfortunately, your wishes will remain unfulfilled because I will not let you leave this house. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever. So, you better get used to living here with me," he declared and my anger fueling his words. I stomped my feet on the ground, the sound echoing my frustration.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I sobbed, "You can't keep me here. I want to get away from here." My voice trembled with a mix of sadness and desperation.

Max's POV

My head was already throbbing in pain, a relentless ache that seemed to intensify with each passing moment. How on earth was I going to survive with this girl? In the few hours since she woke up, she had managed to showcase an impressive array of irritating qualities. Annoying pest, aggressive hooligan, and a small girl who changed moods without a moment's notice, much like the ever-changing weather. And now, she was sobbing uncontrollably, her tears flowing freely down her cheeks. The doctor had made it abundantly clear that she must not stress herself for the sake of the baby.

I let out a weary sigh, realizing that I had no choice but to console her. Summoning what little patience I had left, I spoke gently, trying to reach her troubled heart. "Priscilla, look. I'm trying to help you here. Your mother has passed away, and you have no place to stay. Furthermore, you don't have any money with you." She paused her crying, her eyes fixed on me, as if hanging onto my every word. "You are just a small girl . It's simply not safe for you to live on the streets all alone. But here, with me, you can have a home and everything that you need. I can even ensure that you receive an education, so you can carve out a name for yourself and build a successful career. All I ask in return is that you act as my girlfriend. I promise you, I will never lay a hand on you without your consent."

Priscilla's eyes sparkled with happiness as I finished speaking. I couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief, uncertain of what would unfold once she discovered the truth about the baby.

"Will you take me to school?" she asked, her voice filled with joy, as she wiped away her tears.

"Yes, , I will enroll you in a wonderful online school," I replied, attempting to conceal my frustration.

Curiosity danced across her face as she inquired, "What is online schooling?"

"Online schooling, is when you attend all your classes from the comfort of our home. Instead of physically going to a school building, you will study using a laptop," I explained, hoping to satisfy her curiosity.

"But what is a laptop?" she asked, her innocence shining through.

"Don't worry . I will show you a laptop, and then you can decide if you agree with me," I said cautiously, not wanting to provoke her anger.

"I will stay here, but I still despise you for deceiving me into this situation. Rest assured, I will not make your life any easier," she threatened, her words laced with determination. I could sense that she was not bluffing, and a lump formed in my throat as I swallowed hard.

"You can punish me all you want," I pleaded, my voice filled with desperation, "but promise me, promise me that you won't be sad or cry. Do you promise?" I anxiously awaited her response, hoping that she would understand the gravity of my request.

She rolled her eyes, a gesture that conveyed her annoyance. "I'm a big girl," she retorted, her tone laced with defiance, "I don't cry easily. I cry when I'm angry at someone, when I'm consumed by the frustration of knowing that I can't physically retaliate against that person." Her words hung in the air, a testament to her determination and resilience.

"Okay," I said, trying to maintain a sense of authority, "sit on the bed and don't do anything stupid. I need to go out for a little while, but I will be back. I have something important to take care of. However, you must follow three of my rules." I observed her face, noticing the slight furrow of her brow as she processed my words.

"What rules?" she inquired, her voice tinged with skepticism.

"Rule number one," I began, my voice steady, "is that you will not cry. Rule number two, you will not allow yourself to be consumed by sadness. And rule number three, you will not run around aimlessly. Is that clear?" I asked, my eyes fixed on her, waiting for her response.

She glared at me, her eyes filled with a mix of defiance and frustration. "I've made up my mind," she declared, her voice filled with determination, "from today onwards, I finally hate you. I hate you, okay?" Her words hit me like a punch to the gut, leaving me bewildered and confused.

"But why do you hate me?" I asked, my voice filled with genuine confusion.

"Don't act innocent," she snapped, her words dripping with bitterness, "when you want me to stay locked in this room. It's clear that you have ulterior motives." Her accusation hung in the air, leaving a heavy silence between us as I struggled to comprehend her perspective.

"You know what? I've had enough," I declared, striding towards the door. With a swift turn of the key, I swung it open and made my exit, ensuring to lock it behind me. From inside, I could hear her desperate pleas to open the door, but I couldn't risk her taking off with my precious baby. That's why I made the decision to work from home until she gives birth. Right now, my top priority is finalizing the divorce with Nelly. It's like my life has suddenly transformed into a melodramatic movie, just when I thought I had finally found some peace and stability. But hey, that's life for you, always throwing unexpected curveballs.
