THE UNDERWORLD
"Lisa Shawn due time 3:45am…oh no, why isn't her soul here!" A rasping voice panics, racing through a hallway searching for someone.
It was Damian, a recruit and was charged with the responsibility of taking the attendance of souls to be collected.
He was in grave trouble if a soul was found missing. Damian jostle through moving ghost around the hallway.
At a point, he felt like throwing up from seeing bleeding ghosts wailing and screeching as they follow soul grippers along this hallway.
"Oh my… where's Wales?" He lamented, whined and perturbed. Gazing around, he could see soul grippers wondering to and fro.
This place was freaking cold, dark and had so many hallways. Crowded people in dark wears with pale faces, dark rings around their eyes and chapped lips.
Emotionless and sad people pervade here, no breaks as they walk to and fro collecting souls of deceased.
It was their job as soul grippers, and it instigates them to hover around the human world.
Only a few are selected to be soul grippers and have a chance to wonder on the earth like dark shadows.
No one sights them as it was solely their responsibility to collecting souls at their appointed time of death.
"That rude, cruel brute Wales!" Damian comments just almost immediately he said those mean words.
He heard footsteps approaching him, the flapping sound of lapels smearing against each other.
The whistling of wales lips, It made Damian froze at a spot perplexed if perhaps that monster heard him.
He clears his throat and rehearsal his lines on how to deliver the problem on ground to Wales.
"Why the weary face, kid?" He questioned walking pass Damian who follows him.
Wales was pacing fast, and this boy had to keep up with his speed while wrapping his words.
This man barely gives once to express their words, but because Damian was new in business, he had to give the kid a chance.
"You were meant to deliver a soul, sir at 3:45 and…" He pauses as Wales shove his face rudely at him to be hasty in his words.
"Well, she's missing, she didn't cross over, it could mean a soul gripper saved her" Damian narrated, swallowing hard.
He was so relieved that he spoke his mind without fumbling. Wales scoffs, looked upward with contempt, licked his lower lips, and he said;
"I left it for Brooke to handle, he appeared from nowhere when I was about to take that girl's soul and said he would handle it"
Damian placed his palm on his agar mouth and shook his head unbelievably. Why does it have to be Brooke, the insolent ghost?
"Brooke? Seriously? I thought he got you into trouble the last time you worked with him?" Damian notifies raking his hair roughly.
"He's trying to make up for that, I'm giving him a chance just like you.
Besides, it's irritating to work all day long" Wales defended, patting Damian on the shoulder while grimacing.
He had even beckoned Damian to go through the scroll of souls for the day; because he might be mistaken about the missing soul.
The young lad gave a frown and gently shrugged wale's palm off his shoulder.
He was acting all sweet for a reason, and it pisses him off. Damian knew it wasn't because
Wales wanted to Brooke a second chance that he let him collect that girl's ghost.
It was just something else which he couldn't figure out. However, rather than wasting time to understand this man, he made up his mind to deliver the news.
"Bad news, he's nowhere to be found neither the soul he is to collect" Damian announces and suddenly, Wales pulls him to a corner, scans the hallway and then glares at him.
"What do you mean?" Wale questions, reckoning on Damian to lower his voice.
The young lad took time to get a hold of his breath because he was startled at how wale swiveled him over to a corner.
Pinning his back to a wall, and staring into his eyes like though hypnotizing the puzzled lad.
Damian felt cold running down his spine as he flutters his lashes, holding his breath. Wale ogles at him to stop acting weird and speak up.
"A soul gripper and a soul are missing, what do we do? The higher ups must not find out" Damian stated and Wales moves a bit from him.
"Why Brooke? Why does he always cause trouble for me! Argh!" Wales grumbles, thudding his knuckles on a nearby wall. Besides, everywhere around the hallway had walls and pillars.
"Let's find them together" Damian suggested with a proud look that at least he might get a chance to look at earth again.
Wales raised a wrought brow at him with a killer eye, which caused Damian to gulp hard and look down.
Wale suspire, bangs his suitcase on Damian's chest, who flinches and quickly goad the suitcase not to fall.
"Cover up for me kid, I would be back in two days with those two" he ordered harshly and Damian nodded obediently.
Wale quickly brought out dark gloves from his breast pocket and wore. His facial expressions weren't pleasing, and Damian prefers not to look at him.
Certainly, the young man was enraged at the mistake he did by trusting Brooke.
Luckily for them, no one was passing by this place or peering, and they were on a safer sound for now. Although, overwhelming noises and a rush of wind was felt.
"You need a body to find them, I could find you one" Damian pointed out holding stiffly the suitcase handle.
He just wanted to be of some help, besides, they were both in trouble if the people they were searching for didn't show up.
"Well, he's hot, handsome, domineering as you are, he died recently this morning at 11am, he seems powerful and would be easier to find them" Damian continues with a joker smile anticipating for Wale's next sentence.
"I require a body that wedges a gun, I just need to shoot them in the head and take their souls"
Wales snaps, pulling off his hat and causing his long hair to sit on his shoulders. He places it on Damian's head, smirks.
He juggles his Sparta shoulders, brushes a finger on his aquiline nose as he detects an unpleasant smell lurking around.
Likewise, he clears his throat for Damian to further on.
There was no need to fritter away time. Neither did he let the troubling scent of death muddle his thoughts.
He couldn't think straight, neither recall how that girl who was meant to die looked like. However, he believes that if he finds Brooke, he definitely finds the girl.
"Base on my research, he sleeps with a gun, so he's perfect" Damian muses as he watches Wales take off his coat, and swings to him.
He only had a sleeved shirt which stuck to his broad chest, revealing his sturdy abs.
He said to himself, "I would surely burn you Brooke"
Damian reveals the location where he would find the body.
A screen appears on the wall as Wales could see doctors performing recuperation for a man lying unconscious on the bed.
It was chaotic in this part of the hospital, and it gave Wales goosebumps. Sincerely, he hated the human world. The screen vanishes almost immediately.
"Good" Wales concluded to him without saying a goodbye and teleports himself through the wall.
As for the lad, he wrapped all Wales items on his chest and smirks.
Furthermore, he imitated his acts with a restful face but then draw in his breath when he recalls something vital.
"Fuck! He doesn't know her name!"
