Karito's Pov

This level felt strange the moment I stepped into it. And I don't mean that because it's the creation of Darks but in a conceptual way. This level has the stench of dead bodies everywhere. I know what this level is, but it isn't the level I'm considering.

At first, it resembles the description of Level 231, the Slaughterhouse. The level is a maze-like structure with dimly lit corridors and rooms. The walls are lined with hooks, chains, and other implements used for processing meat. The air is thick with the stench of blood, and the sound of machinery and the screams of animals echo throughout the level. Wait... maybe those aren't just animal screams but human and animal screams.

But I'm not going to think about it. I'm certain that whoever is in charge of this level is using the format of Level 231 to terrify anyone who enters here. Or maybe this place is just a different kind of hell. But this disgusting smell is already making my nose itch, which isn't very pleasant.

Still, I will check to make sure the Darks are using Level 231's format. With that in mind, I continued my walk, using my spider sense as a GPS. Upon reaching a fork in the path, I stopped and looked at the machinery in front of me.

(Toxin) "The stench of blood is awful in this part," he says in disgust.

(Spider-Man) "Yeah. The tile three feet away from me is a trap, so I'm going to break the wall behind this T-section."

(Toxin) "This is the Russian Experiment all over again."

(Spider-Man) "That's a memory I'd rather not recall, thank you very much," he sighs.

(Toxin) "My bad."

As Toxin finished, I flicked my finger, creating a hole the size of my hand. I peeked through it, and with my enhanced vision, I saw inside the dark room behind the trap. To my utter disgust, my suspicion was correct. I saw pits of boiling water filled with human and animal flesh. Imagining how they died, the machine beneath me is a meat grinder. Whoever steps on it is... well, they're grinded and thrown into this boiling water. Disgusting, if you ask me.

Now that I know this is a clone of Level 231, I pretty much know what I'm dealing with. Some spiked pits and other gruesome traps will be around, but my spider senses will automatically help me avoid them. I should thank Broogli for the information I found while browsing YouTube in the Nexus.

(Toxin) "Besides the disgusting level, I feel incredibly uneasy."

(Spider-Man) "I know what you mean. There is someone here."

(Toxin) "But I don't think we should fight them."

(Spider-Man) "Is this because of the SCP's warning?"

(Toxin) "The key word is 'Death.' Why would an SCP say that?"

(Spider-Man) "Knowing the SCP universe..."

(Toxin) "Oh, fuck..."

(Spider-Man) "Oh yeah... we're dealing with a character that's the very concept of death. Nope, I am not dealing with that. I don't care who it is—someone who is the embodiment of Death is literally a death sentence."

(Toxin) "Then how the hell are we supposed to get out of here? This level, even before we got here, is already infinite in size."

(Spider-Man) "And to top it all off, they've made sure I can't hack into it, unlike the last level."

(Toxin) "It's been watching us since we got here."

(Spider-Man) "Definitely. It's very prepared for us."

(Toxin) "Shit... what the hell is this?"

(Spider-Man) "I don't know... but this sense of déjà vu is killing me."

(Toxin) "What? How is that possible?"

(Spider-Man) "I don't know, Toxin, but we have to keep going. Standing around doing nothing isn't going to help us solve this hell we're currently trapped in."

(Toxin) "Alright, alright... I'm sorry. I'm just a bit panicked. This place is so... suffocating."

(Spider-Man) "That, we can agree on."

Concluding our mental conversation, I took a right and continued my walk. The stinging sensation in my head persisted. I felt like I was forgetting something, but that shouldn't be possible. Something in my mind is screaming but is being silenced. There is something wrong here... this level... but... is it the level itself? Or is it whatever monster is lurking here that makes this place a complete and utter shithole?

But why did they choose this level? Is it because of its unsettling setting? To scare people who are sent here? Just who is this character? Whoever I'm dealing with is completely insane. This entity thoroughly enjoys torturing people for eternity until it tires of them. As I said, this is probably a different kind of hell, and the warden is Death itself.

Damn it, I thought I was fucked before, but this is a whole new level of fuckery. Once again... I'm in hell.

But I'm not afraid. I've been in hell before. I was already in a bad mood. I have not forgotten my lost friends and lovers.

If you think that the people I know being dead makes me weak, then you understand very little. If you are related to AR Thanos and were an accomplice to his massacre, then I will find you...

I am the Guardian. I'm cursed with the stability of fiction. A silent peacemaker of all stories. An omnineutral being in the vastness of it all.

And I will never... ever stop.

No Pov

The Guardian continued his walk, the strange level leading him to areas he couldn't have imagined. After a few minutes, he reached a hallway with windows showing what seemed to be the "outside." Such a strange setting confused him; he would have assumed that the windows were traps designed to give wanderers a semblance of hope, only to have it snatched away by a Smiler the second they got too close. Strangely, he didn't sense any danger when he observed the windows. Relaxing, he approached and looked out. What he saw severely confused him: it was a large circular space, and the entire level seemed to be a loop.

The hero observed more closely. The facility indeed took a circular shape, as he had thought, while the gap in the middle was obscured by clouds. He saw entire paths connecting from one side to the other, like bridges. He could have sworn that whoever designed this had mixed a Backrooms level with the castle from Doctor Who in Season 9. Keeping that thought aside, he continued to walk.

(Spider-Man) "This place has been strange since the moment I entered. Let's assume this level is a convergence of two things: a website log and an episode." He observed a television on a wall, only showing static. "The level also has tech that doesn't fit its setting. And the fact that there is also a sky here..." He pondered, "Though I can't tell the time with the clouds in the way, I'll be able to tell when it's night. Just how long have I been dragged along in this fake Backrooms dimension?"

He tapped at the walls as he walked, speaking loudly. "Whoever you are, I suggest you hurry the fuck up! Show yourself or keep hiding! You've probably been watching me during this entire adventure, and I fucking hate that! I was told taking revenge is bad, but I think you know by now that I listen when I want to! So hurry UP!"

With his final shout, the TV started to emit strange static until it shifted into a clear image—one that surprised the Guardian. Why? Because what the screen showed was himself at a window. He looked around while staring at the screen, and his movements inside the TV mirrored his own. Someone was recording him live. He looked in the direction he was being watched from and saw it. He saw a man, whose form appeared rotten. His black hair covered most of his face. He wore a gray coat and a white shirt underneath, both dirty with what the Guardian assumed was dried blood. His pants were torn. The Guardian couldn't help but feel a sense of recognition, as if he had seen the individual before in an anime. The rotten figure turned around slowly and started to walk, its footsteps heavy and echoing through the halls. The TV screen also moved with it, confirming Karito's suspicion about who had the camera. He walked towards another hall, staring at the other side as he saw the figure slowly approach.

The Guardian's breathing quickened; he knew who it was. But it seemed this was an older version of the character. He ran down another hall, observing the TV for the figure's location. Once he reached the other side of the hall, he was met with a door, which he tried to open with brute force, but strangely, it didn't budge. He was severely confused. He had pushed a planet out of its orbit, and now he couldn't open a simple door? No... that wasn't it. This place was an enigma, a Dark-filled dimension. The amalgamation of all the Darkness in this specific dimension focused on this one level. He had entered a place where a power source of such Darkness lingered. This level was probably this dimension's power supply, meaning everything here, down to the microscopic level, was made out of Darkness and Darkanstine. He cursed to himself as he turned around, seeing the figure slowly approach him. Mosquitoes flew all around, annoying the Guardian. The stench of death emanated from the figure, utterly foul. Karito walked backward toward the door, his back against it as his anxiety rose.

(Spider-Man) "I know you... you're from that anime, right? My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered?" He smiles nervously "Y-You look fucked man. Just what the hell happened to you? Girl left you? World went against you? Come on, Yogiri. Cat got your...?" His eyes widen "... I should probably be more afraid of the guy who even managed to hurt you with all of your bullshit Hax." His legs slips as he couldn't go further back "Shit... SHIT! I can't even think of killing you because if I do, your powers will automatically activate. Anything that revolves killing you will make your powers kill the culprit. I can be on another dimension and I could still die of you think of it. You're completely and utterly UNFAIR! FUCK!" Yogiri was dangerously close to him, his skin dried and rotten. "Ugh! FUCK!" He closes his eyes "Ah... is this it? I wasn't even able to meet Chisato or Rebecca again... all you need to say is 'Die' and I'm dead. Heck, you can even think of it and I'm dead. I can't die... Peter needs me... Ace... I have too much to teach him... Chrona... I'm afraid... I'm afraid to die."

Then everything stopped. Yogiri's hand was about to touch Karito, but it suddenly froze. Time itself had stopped.

(Spider-Man) "Is it something I said?" He flicked one of the mosquitoes away. "Why did you stop?"

As he stared in confusion, the entire level started to shift and contort, taking on a new shape. The door behind Karito disappeared, and he quickly went through the newly formed opening as Yogiri was teleported somewhere else. The Guardian found himself inside a room. He looked around, bewildered. It resembled a typical boy's room from an anime. There was a vase filled with water containing a red spider lily. He grabbed it impulsively and smelled it. It had a scent, so it was real, or so he thought. But as he stared down and slowly traced his gaze upwards, he saw something that made his heart stop. He saw a painting of Chisato in the red dress she wore that one time they went to peek at her father's "date," even though it wasn't one. He stared at the canvas, seeing its decay. This painting was old... incredibly old.

(Spider-Man) "What the hell...? Just how long does a painting need to exist for it to start slowly tearing?"

He saw a fly land on the canvas and quickly spun to the right, seeing Yogiri once again slowly approaching him. Karito walked backward, slowly tearing the red spider lily apart.

(Spider-Man) "Alright, buddy! You might've lost your words, but you can still react. You had a fuckload of time to prepare this. You studied me, analyzed me, and now you're here torturing me. So, what is this place? A trap? Or better yet, is this a torture chamber for good old me? You want me to spew my guilt? My sins to you?! You want me to confess my wrongdoings?! You should know better than anyone that I hate people peeking into my head! And newsflash, buddy! I'm afraid to die!" He started sprinting towards the only window he saw in the room. "I BET YOU DIDN'T SEE THIS COMING!" Jumps.

Inside Karito's head.

Alright, this is getting interesting. There is something I learned after being tortured so much, and that is: the first rule of being interrogated is that you are the only irreplaceable person in the torture chamber. The room is yours, so work it. If they're going to threaten you with death, show them who's boss. Die faster.

Isn't that ironic? Good old Doctor Who, you can learn a lot from him.

Anyway, there was a purpose to why I shot the window. The web is actually one that bounces. Once it went through the fragile glass, it went down towards the mist inside the large circular gap that this level has. I needed to check if there was somewhere to stand. I never heard anything, but I did feel something. This place has water, but one that will try to consume me. Dark Water, or you could also call it Dark Matter. How did the Darks even liquify that? Your guess is as good as mine.

But if what I "felt" was something similar to Dark Matter, then it isn't. I'm certain it's Dark Water with the texture of Dark Matter. So I took a risk. The fall is seven seconds. It will take me a bit of time to fight through the corruption of the Dark Water once I fall into it. It will be a pain, but if I can avoid Yogiri, then I'm down for anything.

Now, here's the first rule of dying: don't. The second rule: slow down.

Now, I concentrate. All I have to think is "I'm going to survive." Always assume that. Imagine that I've already survived.

Think... think inside your "Storm room." In fact, that's where I am right now. My mental landscape, where I analyze all my thoughts. It's a copy of the Nexus, but it's all just in my head. A place where I can slow down time to an attosecond. Honestly, I hope by breaking the system, my thought process can skyrocket to Planck time, heck, even less.

Shit, I went on a ramble again. I'm still falling. To be honest, I can web swing in another direction, but I don't know if Yogiri has some sort of shortcuts to the same floor. So I'm going to the bottom floors of this level.

That's right. I will use my lateral repulsion the moment I see an entrance. It is better if I avoid the water. I'm sure if I fall inside it, it will be like being inside a sun... wait, that's not right. It's more like the water will try to delete me, consume my essence, my character, my life. It will consume me conceptually and existentially.

Yeah, so I shall avoid it.

I'm going past the mist now, and I can see the black water. In my surroundings, there is an entrance to the left, a gate of sorts. Perfect, that's going to be my temporary escape. My feet crackle with energy as I prepare to launch myself to the gate. But my senses warn me. I look down and see a black tentacle move at speeds faster than light. Of course, Dark Water would be faster than light; it is impersonating Dark Matter. Such a thing has positive mass. Tachyons (faster-than-light particles) have imaginary mass according to relativity.

But I can dodge it. This Dark Matter isn't like the one from reality. It's just a thing written by a Dark to function as such, a fake.

I started to dodge the black tentacles, but the more I dodged, the more they appeared. To the point an endless number of them appeared, blocking my path. I unleashed a venom blast, but it consumed it.

It consumed me.

And this is going to hurt...

Ahh...

AGH!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

...

...

...

A few seconds later...

(Spider-Man) He gasps and coughs, "Fuck! FUCK!" He drags himself out of the water and into the gate. "FUCK, THAT HURT!!!" A tentacle grabs his leg, but he uses his venom blast with hacking to destroy it. "Piece of shit... it even went through my barrier." He looks down at the Dark Water. "There were skulls down there, an entire landscape of skulls below the water. Just how many people were killed here? Fuck..." He looks at himself, parasitic Dark bugs trying to enter his suit but unable to. "Disgusting. I hope whatever is inside this gate has a shower." He walks through it.

The Guardian enters a room with a fireplace, and on the other side, there is a bathroom. He mentally celebrates as he enters the bathroom and spots a shower. To his confusion, he sees body wash, conditioner, and shampoo already placed there. He doesn't question it much and just takes off Toxin as the symbiote goes ahead to take its own shower.

The shower is quick; he doesn't have much time. So he goes ahead and uses the body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, feeling so dirty that he empties the entire bottle in one go. Very exaggerated.

There is one thing the Guardian keeps in mind. The instant he thought of web swinging or using lateral repulsion for travel, the tentacles appeared out of nowhere and snatched him. It seems this place wants to keep him grounded no matter what. It took the combination of his powers and his hacking skills to kill the entities off. He'll keep that in mind so next time he won't be caught off guard.

(Spider-Man) "This headache is killing me... I feel like I've been here before..."

Once again, the Guardian walked, reaching a dining table. It was long, as if made for the rich. But he didn't care; he was annoyed by the fact that he couldn't hurry because if he tried to travel any faster with his powers, he would be slowed down that very instant.

Looking around the room, he saw the same TV he had seen earlier, showing Yogiri's location.

(Spider-Man) "What type of sick game is he playing here? Just what are you...?" He thinks.

(Chisato) "Wrong question."

(Spider-Man) "Then what is the right... wait... why is he doing this?" He pondered, "He shows me where he is every single time; he slowly walks toward me. A silent shadow in my journey. He's always there, slowly catching up. In the end of my story, he will reach me and take me... Death. I see." He sighed, "He's trying to scare me. These traps to keep me grounded, the eerie setting. A castle mixed with a butcher shop. The screams, the skulls, everything to scare me. I'm in his game, one where I will always be caught by death... him... Death himself."

As he finished thinking to himself, his senses directed him to another location. He walked towards where his senses led him, reaching a room with a holographic universe. But not just any universe—a cosmology. Or maybe it was a story, an unfinished product.

(Spider-Man) "A book? A holographic universe?" He looked around. "More and more books... research... this..." He stared at the TV monitor, seeing Yogiri about to enter the dining room. "This is probably a clue... whoever did this camouflaged it, making others think one thing while the perpetrator hides in plain sight..." He picked up a book called 'All Tomorrows,' but he saw a slight tear, revealing its true title: Large Cardinals.

(Spider-Man) "I see..." He smirked. "I have about an hour before Yogiri reaches me..." He got to work.

...

...

...

One hour later...

I had read all the books here regarding math and dimensions. They amounted to 150 books in total. My enhanced perception allowed me to read and memorize everything in a flash. The books had a hidden location of where I need to go next, besides other information that was already highlighted by a previous reader. I made further progress thanks to it and marked additional information and highlighted other keywords if anyone else ever ventures here. God forbid they do.

I looked outside the window and saw that it was already nighttime, but... when I looked at the stars to tell the time, something was very, very wrong. I returned to the stack of books and pondered.

Now, besides the fly that keeps pestering me— Hold on, fly?

Spider-Senses!

Oh shit!

Yogiri came from the roof, launching himself toward me. I rolled, dodging him. I knew it was futile, but I shot a web to trap him. As the web got close to him, I heard him whisper.

(Dark Yogiri) "...Ie..."

My spider web just 'died.' I clicked my tongue, knowing that would happen, and made a run for it. But when I reached the exit, there was only a wall.

When did things change? I didn't even notice it. None of my powers will work on Yogiri because he can tell them to 'die.' As bullshit as his abilities are, he can tell anything, and I mean ANYTHING, to die. I can't keep escaping him. This room only has one exit, and it was blocked off.

Shit... what should I do?

(Rebecca) "Confess. Don't tell any lies."

Shit... Of course... If I tell the truth, the path will change. I can make a temporary escape until I follow the path I found while reading the books. It wants me to confess things about myself...

There is a reason why I don't always tell the entire truth. I have vented before, yes, but that was only temporary. I am incredibly naive, childish, selfish... things a person with my circumstances shouldn't think...

Fuck... I confess...

(Spider-Man) "I CONFESS! It took me time to realize, but it's the truth! I only ever considered this new life of mine as a GAME!"

(Dark Yogiri) Stops, but nothing happens. "..."

(Spider-Man) "What? You want more?! FINE! The reason why I do it is because I am childish enough to think I'm just in a dream! That everyone I meet are just side characters to make me have fun! To grow myself as a person! But I never truly grew! I just lived in a fantasy to run away from my problems and blamed everyone else for my misfortune!"

Then, Yogiri backed away, and space and time shifted and changed. I ran through the newly formed exit. I was on the edge of the level, seeing the outside. I saw two skulls form in the black water and fall right back in. I stared in cold sweat, biting my lip.

(Spider-Man) "Shit... how immature..."

I walked back into the room where Chisato's canvas was hung, staring at it with disgust... not at Chisato... no... how could I? It was at myself. Saying it out loud and facing the words I just said and not just pushing it away.

I clicked my tongue, like a clock ticking.

You know... the day you lose someone isn't the worst. At least you've got something to do. It's the days... they... stay dead.

Thud...

Yogiri is here...

(Spider-Man) "57 minutes..."

So, this is how time works here. It's quite fucked. I clicked the seconds as they passed. My life is a countdown here. If I draw Yogiri to one extreme of the level and I run to the other extreme, I earn myself 1 hour and 22 minutes. I can use that time to recuperate and do more research if necessary. For now, I have to find the room where the Inaccessible and Mahlo barriers are present and think of a way to escape. Of course, looking around an infinite number of rooms is going to be a pain in the ass because this place is rather confusing, but I know I can find it. Room Infinity. I also noticed that the rooms I had previously broken returned to their normal state after a bit. Automated room service. Wouldn't that be nice?

This level changes its settings as well. It turns finite and infinite whenever it wants, specifically every hour. This is quite the personalized hell. Meh, doesn't make a difference. But here's the true question...

Just how long will I be here until I escape?

Forever?

He's always coming for me... it never stops... never rests... like a countdown...

I stared at the TV, showing Yogiri's location. He was near, so it's time to move. Eventually, I found myself at the same place I started. I sighed to myself and touched the floor.

You know... in the real world... there are two events in everybody's lives that they won't remember. Two moments experienced by every living thing. Yet, no one remembers anything about them. No one remembers being born. No one remembers dying.

I picked up a skull from the ground. Huh... It has the same size as my own...

Is this why we stare at the eye sockets of a skull? Because we're asking, "What was it like?", "Does it hurt?", "Are you still scared?"

As I walked in circles, I noticed a marking... one that said: "If you ever feel hopeless... remember the quote of the bird... and continue."

Bird? Which quote? Is someone trying to motivate me?

(Spider-Man) "Undying perseverance..."

Suddenly, I heard something click. Stairs were revealed behind the wall with the markings.

Quote... bird... I shall try to remember which one it was...

I made my way to the stairs, taking the skull with me. I walked and walked until I reached the top. I reached what seemed to be a watchtower. The sky was full of stars. I gently placed the skull on the edge as I looked around an infinite landscape.

There's something missing here, Tony... and it makes me anxious.

I walked down the stairs and took the path of an empty hall...

I walked...

And walked...

And walked...

Walked...

Walked...

And...

...

...

Just how long is this path...

I guess... infinitely...

Click...

What was that?

I peeked to the side, where I found a different path.

That's when I saw it. The door into infinity is there...

Have I walked an infinite distance to reach all the way here?

Holy shit, how long was I spaced out?

Ahaha!

I didn't hesitate to run toward it and pry it open, just to be met with hopelessness. It was a wall.

Just my luck... Ugh...

Guess I'll go back to that watchtower...

I don't even know how long it took to get back to the tower, but I eventually made it.

Fuck man... I'm following crumbs of bread. This game is making me sick... It's making me tired... but this game... is a game I can't stop playing... a game everyone else has lost...

The solution is easy. For the wall to be moved out of the way, I have to confess... as long as I don't run out of confessions, I should be fine...

I looked up, staring at the stars once again...

It's wrong... it's all wrong...

Flies started to buzz near me.

This time zone is utterly fucked... Just how is it possible? Was my thought that this place has crippled time true? I know when something wrong happens. I know I didn't travel through time. I can detect all anomalies of a verse.

Time here is ruined.

And if that's true...

I have been in this dimension for 7,000 years...

Is the darkness here altering things? The dark tentacles... I noticed that they were quite unique. I knew they were too fast, way too fast. At first, I thought it was funny, but those creatures were moving so fast they went beyond time and space. In other words, they were hitting me at immeasurable speeds. And once they caught me, they would start deleting my existence as a character in this story. Of course, I avoided that thanks to my hacking.

I confess...

(Spider-Man) "I now know why I was given a gamer system."

Yogiri stops his approach. "A Guardian either has powers or is gifted powers. But here's the catch... the power is something that fits the current state of the Guardian. And... I was given a gamer system. This entire time, I treated everything like a game. This gamer system was something to keep me in check, to control me."

He clenches his fists. "I just covered my negative thoughts, like a game, and kept walking as if it was a game. Because I thought that if I didn't see things as they truly are, I would stop running away from my problems... and it would be their fault... haha... I was never truly mature... it was just easier to go on when you didn't take anything seriously..."

Then the level shifted and contorted. Yogiri was once again frozen, and I ran towards the door of infinity. This time, I saw it, the patterns just like the book said. It only took me one second to arrive at the door and open it.

What I saw made me pause for a few seconds as I once again clicked my tongue to keep count of time.

There was an expanse full of stars. But not just stars, every cosmic phenomenon that exists. It was like a universal canvas, one so beautiful it was hard not to admire the spectacle. I walked in this infinite space. The floor felt liquid; I was walking this time on actual dark matter. It was so concentrated it became visible. It reached up to my ankles. I walked and walked, the sound of matter my only company, and the clicking of my tongue.

I walked until I saw a dimensional barrier. That's when I knew I found it... the inaccessible cardinal barrier. And behind this was the Mahlo Cardinal barrier.

Now... Breaking down the definition, a (strongly) inaccessible cardinal 𝛼 must be:

Uncountable: 𝛼≥𝜔1.Regular: 𝛼 cannot be expressed as the limit of a set 𝑆 of smaller ordinals, where the of 𝑆 is less than 𝛼. This can alternately be phrased as 𝛼=(𝛼). From a cardinal perspective, we can informally say that it cannot be divided into smaller set of smaller sets.Strong limit: 𝛼=ℶ𝛾 for a limit ordinal 𝛾, using the following hierarchy of :ℶ0=ℵ0ℶ𝛼+1=2ℶ𝛼 (cardinal exponentiation)ℶ𝛼=sup{𝛽<𝛼:ℶ𝛽}

For a cardinal 𝜅, "𝜅 is a (strong) limit cardinal" is also equivalent to "𝜅 is closed under the map 𝜆𝜏.2𝜏 with domain and codomain Card".

Now... for it's degrees:

One definition of 1-inaccessible is that a cardinal 𝜅 is 1-inaccessible if 𝜅 is inaccessible and a limit of inaccessible, a cardinal 𝜅 that is 𝜅-inaccessible is called hyper-inaccessible, and a cardinal 𝜅 that is ‟hyper"𝜅-inaccessible is called richly inaccessible. Under this definition the process continues, and higher level inaccessible cardinals can be called utterly inaccessible, deeply inaccessible, truly inaccessible, eternally inaccessible, vastly inaccessible, and so on.

The term "𝛼-hyper-inaccessible" is ambiguous, and one definition is that for a cardinal 𝜅 and for 𝛽<𝛼, the set of 𝛽-hyper-inaccessible cardinals <𝜅 is unbounded in 𝜅.

And I just happen to stumble on the strongest inaccessibility there is... Now for the one above that... the Mahlo...

A Mahlo cardinal (or strongly Mahlo cardinal) is an 𝛼 such that the set of inaccessible cardinals below 𝛼 is a stationary subset of 𝛼 — that is, every closed unbounded set in 𝛼 contains an inaccessible cardinal (in which the Von Neumann definition of ordinals is used). The smallest Mahlo cardinal is sometimes called "the" Mahlo cardinal 𝑀. (The eponym "Mahlo" has been appropriated as an adjective, so "𝛼 is a Mahlo cardinal" may be rephrased as "𝛼 is Mahlo," for example.)

If we weaken "inaccessible" to merely "regular," we get the weakly Mahlo cardinals. The two definitions are equivalent if the generalized continuum hypothesis is taken to be true.

Ahh...

That's how... I'll have to weaken it... an infinite number of times...

FUCK!

WHY IS IT ALWAYS ME? WHY CAN'T IT BE SOMEONE ELSE FOR FUCK'S SAKE?

I CAN'T EVEN BE HAPPY! I CAN'T BE NAIVE! I CAN'T BE OBLIVIOUS WITHOUT A MOTHERFUCKER JUDGING ME!

I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT BEING CORRECTED! WITHOUT BEING RESPONSIBLE!

FUCK! I'M SO GODDAMN TIRED! THE VOICES IN MY HEAD! THE ENDLESS VOICES! THE GUILT IS SUFFOCATING!

TOXIN! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU WHEN I NEED YOU? WHY DID YOGIRI TAKE YOUR VOICE? FUCK!

CHISATO, WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE ME?

REBECCA, WHAT THE FUCK MAKES ME SPECIAL?

TONY! WHY! FUCKING WHY!

I'm so tired...

(Chisato) "How are you going to win this time, Karito?"

I'm so tired... I just want... to rest...

It would be so easy just to tell them where the Nexus is...

Yogiri is close...

I can't...

I can't always do this...

My eyes water...

It's not fair...

WHY CAN'T I JUST LOSE?!

(Tony) "You can't."

None of you get it...

I was taken, fed lies, lived in a fairy tale, faced horrors and masked them as bad dreams because I'm too scared to face them...

I just run away...

And you will all still be gone...

Whatever I do...

YOU STILL WON'T BE THERE!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

...

...

...

(Tony) "Karito, you are not the only person who has suffered. That's everyone's story. Get over it. You know you can. Shut their mouths just like how you did with all those people who doubted you because of your condition. Face it, Spider. Break free from your burdens."

(Chisato) "Karito, you are kind. You ran away from your problems. But you have the chance to face them and be better. It is time, my love. It's time to prove to everyone who you really are. Your condition is not a burden but a gift. Your sufferings aren't tearing you apart; they are forming a new you. A better you."

(Rebecca) "So get up your goddamn ass and be the badass you truly are and fucking WIN!"

...

...

...

What the hell have I been doing this entire time?

I'm so goddamn pathetic it's laughable!

DAMN IT!

FINE! I WILL PROVE IT! I WILL PROVE TO ALL OF YOU WHO I WILL BECOME!

BECAUSE THIS IS MY STORY! AND MINE ALONE!

FUCK THIS! I'M STARTING FROM ZERO ALL OVER AGAIN!

TO A BETTER ME!

LET'S FUCKING GO!!!!!!!

...

...

...

(Spider-Man) He turns around, facing Yogiri. "Hello there." He snickers. "I'm sorry to break it to you, but I ain't gonna vent anymore. No more story time for you, dipshit!" He faces the dimensional barriers. "But I will tell you one last thing."

I raise my fist and punch the barrier. My hand feels like it shatters, making me scream in pain.

BANG!

(Spider-Man) "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! SON OF A BITCH! That's what I get for punching an infinity on top of many infinities! FUCK!!!" He clenches his teeth. "This entire time, I was looking at things the wrong way! I was so blind to everything and just went along, hurting people! I have become ruined! BUT NO MORE! NO MORE EXCUSES! THAT'S FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T LEARN TO MOVE ON! BUT I WILL! AND IT WILL START WHEN I BREAK THIS FUCKING BARRIER! I WON'T TELL YOU SHIT! YOU CAN BURN IN HELL ONCE I BREAK THIS!

BANG!

(Spider-Man) "NGHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!" His hand quickly starts healing. "I'm going to KILL YOU! The rest of the Darks are going to be rotting right next to your grave! You'll see! And that Spider-God? O-Oh~ that man is going to regret ever putting me in here in the first place!"

BANG!

(Spider-Man) Holds his scream. "HMMMMMM!!!!! FUCK! This is gonna take a long-ass time... So until this shit breaks, let me tell you something..."

BANG!

(Spider-Man) "TCH! SHIT! A wise man once said... There was this emperor, and he asks this shepherd's boy, 'How many seconds in eternity?'"

(Dark Yogiri) He touches Karito. "...Ie..." Disappears.

And everything stopped. I felt darkness consume me. My body ceased to function, it has died. My life, it's slipping away. It is so easy for him to kill me. Just one word and that's it. Just one thought and that's it.

But they shouldn't mark me for dead just yet... something was preventing me from dying. Yogiri's instant death is inevitable; if he wants you dead, you are dead. It doesn't matter if you broke time and space, past, future, higher or lower dimensions. Anything you do to avoid dying, it is impossible to escape him.

But it was a curiosity... I'm mildly resisting it.

My time is coming to an end.

I need to crawl towards the entrance of the level and make a respawn point.

So I crawled...

The pull of death ever so suffocating on each push.

I crawled to infinity...

I need to survive...

This place... it is no hell for others...

This hell was for me and me only...

Those skulls... I see... so that's how many times I've died in the past 7,000 years...

My personalized hell...

Skulls... So many skulls at the bottom of the ocean...

I was the only prisoner here...

It hurts...

Nothing was wrong here...

So I gotta...

It hurts...

The entrance... I see it...

Start hacking...

Skill Hacker has activated...

Skill ???? has activated...

Look who decided to... contribute...

Now... I need to make a perfect copy of myself... in this spawning circle... The me who went through this door 5 seconds after... before Toxin died... The me who got here 7,000 years ago... complete reset... to avoid Yogiri's Death... erase it from this new me...

Skill ??? has successfully cloned you and terminated all anomalies. Current body cannot be saved; too much time has passed since 'Death' had consumed it.

Do you wish to activate the respawn point? The current you will die. Will you still continue? Yes or No?

Yes...

I feel it even more... I can't hold on much longer...

I gotta encourage... this me... to persevere... show him... a path...

Snap!

That... should... do it...

Karito's Pov

And I will never... ever stop.

A door opens... A window breaks...

Surviving the Dark Water... Replacing the shampoo, conditioner and body wash... Walking to the library and research... Funding his own skull...
