Doc looked at Karito with a blank expression, his eyes fixed on the man in front of him. Karito stood tall, his shoulders tense, his eyes blazing with determination. He was dead serious about his request, and he wasn't going to leave until he got what he wanted. But Doc remained unmoved, his face impassive as he regarded the man before him. The tension between the two was palpable, and it seemed that neither of them was willing to back down.
(Ripperdoc) "Get the hell out. Wanna sell? Heard my offer."
(Karito) "Do you have an ear infection? I said we ain't selling. I'm dead serious. Chip this shit into David."
(Ripperdoc) "Listen, Kari. That there is a military-grade piece. David needs to have your build to be able to handle it. I can see you handling this like it was natural but not David."
(Karito) "Since when did you give a fuck about what the customers want to implant themselves with?"
(Ripperdoc) "Woah! The genius Latino is biting back?! Can you even afford it?" Continues his pornographic braindance
(Karito) "I wouldn't be here if I didn't."
(Ripperdoc) "Alright, pretty boy. I'll bite. I'll chip Davey up." Changes his limbs preparing for the operation "But when he comes back, crying to yank it out... Because it's paching his brain, the Sandy is mine for free." Flexes his surgical arms "So, is he ready to rip?"
(David) Nods
Doc stood in his workshop, surrounded by tools and machinery, looking down at David who lay on the operating table. He took a deep breath, steadying his nerves. This was no ordinary operation, and he knew the stakes were high.
(Ripperdoc) "Are you ready, David?" He asked, his voice steady and reassuring.
(David) He nodded, his eyes filled with a mixture of fear and determination "Let's do this,"
(Karito) "Wait. Let me lower your pain receptors." Activates his hacking skill
(Ripperdoc) "How the hell would you do that?"
(Karito) "I just did."
(Ripperdoc) "What?"
(Karito) "Just do the chip."
With practiced precision, Doc began the procedure. He carefully opened up the back of David's shirt, revealing his spinal cord. He then took a scalpel and made a small incision, revealing the tender flesh and nerves underneath.
Next, Doc retrieved the Sandevistan from a nearby shelf and carefully inserted it into the incision, making sure to avoid any major nerves. David winced in pain as the device was connected to his spinal cord, but he kept his focus, knowing that the end result would be worth it.
As the surgery progressed, David's breathing slowed and his heart rate stabilized. Doc worked with a calm focus, making sure that the implant was properly connected and functioning properly. Finally, with a final click, the Sandevistan was in place, and Doc breathed a sigh of relief.
David sat up, testing his newfound abilities. He felt a rush of adrenaline as he realized that the Sandevistan was working perfectly. He moved faster, reacted quicker, and felt more in control than ever before.
(David) "Thank you, Doc," He said, grinning from ear to ear
(Ripperdoc) He nodded, pleased with the results of the surgery "Just remember, you come crying, it's mine."
(Karito) "That won't happen. Trust me."
With that, the two brothers left the workshop, ready for whatever the future held.

Arasaka Academy
(Karito) "You sure about this?"
(David) "We just talked about it. I don't care if I'm expelled, those fuckers deserve a beating."
(Karito) "Well honestly, we have lost it all. Rich people keep making our lives hell. Having more rich people allowing any chance for a better future to be 0% is just fine by me. I don't need to work in a company anyways."
(David) "Well, let's get myself expelled."
(Karito) "Fuck it. Go ahead, I know I'm gonna be called for the office so might as well hang nearby."
(David) "Alright, I'll message you when it starts."
(Karito) "See ya in a bit."
(David) "Literally." Starts walking inside the academy, freshly operated.
...
(Teacher AI) "During the discussion, Frederic Lavabre pressured Nagato Arasaka with measures drawn from the EU's tariff policy." Spots David walking into class "Martinez, David. Your tardiness has been recorded."
(Katsuo) Scoffs "Check it out. Get a load of this guy. Is he serio- " Gets kicked out of his chair by David as he groans in pain "You gonked, Martinez?! We're at school!" Points at the cameras "The cameras. Have you lost you-" Gets punched in the face
(David) Takes off his mother's EMT jacket "What?! Are you afraid of getting caught? 'Cause I know I sure as shit ain't. COME ON!"
(Katsuo) Growls
(David) "Well?"
Katsuo unleashed a roar of rage as he activated his martial arts chip, launching into a barrage of strikes and combos with incredible speed. But David was ready, his hand already twitching as he triggered the Sandevistan implanted in his back. Time slowed to a crawl as David's perception accelerated, allowing him to see Katsuo's every move in slow motion.
With effortless grace, David sidestepped the incoming strikes, watching as Katsuo's fists passed harmlessly by. The bully was completely unaware, too focused on delivering his attack to notice that David had already taken control of the situation.
David locked onto his target, his eyes zeroing in on Katsuo's cheek. Without hesitation, he wound up and struck, his fist connecting with a resounding impact that sent the bully crashing into a wall. Katsuo's body slumped to the ground, unconscious and defeated, as David calmly walked away, his Sandevistan deactivating and time returning to its normal pace.
David's knuckles ached as he clutched them tightly, his bruised skin a testament to the power behind his strike. He let out a low growl of frustration as he examined the injury, his mind racing with anger at the thought of his bully's taunts that had led to this moment of violence. Despite the pain, David felt a sense of satisfaction as he remembered the crunching sound of his fist connecting with Katsuo's cheek and sending the bully crashing into the wall. The adrenaline from the fight still coursed through his veins, and David remembered Karito's words that he would need to be careful not to let his anger get the best of him in the future. And he would keep it in mind, it's better to fight with controlled anger than mindless anger.
(Katsuo) Pained moaning "SHIT!" Holds his bleeding face "What did you do?! What the hell kind of implant is that? You broke my nose, you asshole! You're done! Know who my father is? An Arasaka exec on the Academy board! You and your brother are so fucking gone! You should have quit while you were ahead, you rat bastard. You're trash!"
(David) "...Like we give a shit." Walks away

...
Karito and David traversed the bustling streets, their expressions solemn as Karito tended to David's wounds, gingerly wiping away the dried blood around his spinal implant. The two boys then stared at each other until David spoke.
(David) "Did you see?"
(Karito) "Everything."
(David) "I punched him in the face as you said." Smirks
(Karito) "And he started crying like a bitch."
The sudden sound of their laughter echoed through the quiet street as they both double over in hysteria. Madness seemed to have taken hold of them, causing them to find humor in the absurd situation they found themselves in.
(David) "Race ya home."
(Karito) Smirks "Bet."
With lightning-fast speed, Karito and David vanished from the plaza, leaving behind only a blur. Thanks to his hyper-sense, Karito arrived at their home first, his movements graceful and effortless. Just a few seconds later, David emerged through the vents, his Sandevistan deactivating with a soft hum as he landed on the floor.
(David) "How did you..."
(Karito) "I'm built differently." Smirks
The two brothers lay on the sofa, overwhelmed by a deep sadness as they gazed upon their mother's ashes. Reality hit them hard, their bodies sinking into the cushions with exhaustion as the weight of their loss bore down on them, darkening their eyes and draining their expressions of all hope and joy.

(Secretary) "Mr. Norman, the Guardian has taken action."
(Dark Norman Osborn) "Finally. It took him long enough."
(Secretary) "He's exhibiting the predicted behavior, losing his grip on reality."
(Dark Norman Osborn) "That was the plan all along. Now, the anime will proceed as intended, with our subtle manipulations woven into the plot."
(Secretary) "Yes, sir. The Guardian is aware of the plot, it seems. He's given the Sandevistan to David Martinez, his younger brother."
(Dark Norman Osborn) "So, he has a general understanding of how things are supposed to unfold. It's safe to assume he's never seen this anime before, given he's from 2021."
(Secretary) "It's likely he's relying on the system and his instincts to identify relevant characters and events."
(Dark Norman Osborn) "Exactly. He won't want to ruin the entire plot. That would cause a dimension split, and we all remember the last time that happened."
(Secretary) "Indeed, it was a nightmarish spectacle to behold, sir."
(Dark Norman Osborn) "Where is the anime's plot currently at?"
(Secretary) "Two side characters are talking about David's Sandevistan."
(Dark Norman Osborn) "Alright, let's keep this up. We have an audience to entertain. Do the usual."
(Secretary) "Yes, sir."

The brothers had fallen asleep on their couch. Karito jolted awake, disorientated for a moment, as he felt his device vibrate with an incoming call from the principal. David stirred next to him, groggy from the sudden disturbance, as Karito rubbed his eyes and answered the call.
(Karito) Sighs "Here we go..." Picks up "Mr. Martinez, please know that David's expulsion has been formally processed. However, Mr. Tanaka's parents contacted us to request-" Ends call "Nope, something's screechy here."
(David) "What's wrong?" Groggly
(Karito) "Fucker's parents are planning something. And I don't like it."
(David) "We're so fucked..."
(Karito) "I know. I'm gonna have to train you up from now on..."
(David) "Really?" Excited
(Karito) "Yeah. Now go and take a shower."
(David) "Alright." Walks towards the bathroom
Karito quietly went about his chore of washing their clothes while David was in the shower. As he watched the washing machine work its magic, a numbness settled over him, dulling his emotions. He remained seated, lost in thought, until David joined him. The two brothers sat in silence, both lost in their own thoughts, as the machine chugged away, completing its cycle.
(Karito) "...Wanna go out?"
(David) "Sure... there's nothing to do anyways..."
The city was a never-ending sea of neon lights and bustling crowds as Karito and David stepped out of their apartment building. They didn't have a specific destination in mind, they were just wandering aimlessly, trying to escape the boredom that had been weighing on them lately.
The streets were filled with people of all shapes and sizes, each one rushing about their business. Some were walking to work, others were out for a night on the town. But for Karito and David, the city was just a blur of noise and movement. They strolled down the street, taking in their surroundings and trying to find something that might interest them.
As they walked, they passed by street vendors selling all sorts of trinkets and souvenirs, and they heard the sound of live music coming from a nearby club. They glanced at each other, considering stopping to check it out, but ultimately decided against it.
Finally, they found themselves in a small park surrounded by tall buildings. They sat down on a bench and just took in the quiet beauty of the night sky. The city was alive with the sounds of laughter and chatter, but it was a peaceful contrast to the chaos they had just walked through.
For a while, they just sat in silence, enjoying each other's company and the calm of the night. They knew that this moment wouldn't last forever, but for now, it was enough. They were together, and that was enough to chase away their boredom, at least for a little while.
(Random Kid) From afar "Hey! How are you two doing?"
(Karito) Makes the Okay hand sign
Karito and David stood at one of the benches of a nearby park around the city, their spirits weighed down by the oppressive weight of their grief. Despite their attempts to distract themselves with small talk and the stimulation of the bustling city, they couldn't shake the feeling of emptiness that seemed to follow them everywhere. Karito clutched tightly to the last of their remaining funds, his accounts having been canceled and leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The brothers were lost in a sea of depression, unable to find solace or comfort in anything around them. They were so depressed that they even spent a bit of time with the porn addicts just staring at their pitiful ecstatic state. Once they'd had enough of watching their degeneracy they went to the train. Karito and his brother found solace in the anonymity of the crowded train. As they sat, a stranger approached Karito, striking up a conversation about the bleak state of their lives. Despite the heavy topic, the two engaged in small talk, but the exchange ultimately highlighted the challenges they both faced. Suddenly, a woman with snow-white hair made her way through the car, catching their attention. Karito quickly placed a comforting arm around his brother's shoulder, discreetly observing the intriguing stranger as she walked by.
Karito's gaze was fixed on a woman as she stealthily approached a businessman. In one swift motion, she snatched the chip from around his neck, leaving the man confused but ultimately ignoring the weird sensation. The brothers watched with a mix of fascination and awe as she repeated the same maneuver on another unsuspecting victim. They couldn't help but wonder what her motives were.
(David) "Huh?"
(Karito) Mumbles "You seeing this shit, little bro?"
(David) "Let's just ignore it..."
As David finished his sentence, his chip flew out of his neck and hurtled through the air. In a split second, Karito's heightened senses kicked in and he saw the chip flying towards the white-haired girl's hand in slow motion. David seemed to have noticed as well, as he immediately activated his Sandevistan. With lightning speed, Karito snatched the chip from mid-air, while David grabbed the woman's wrist in one swift motion. The woman gasped in surprise as she found herself caught in the grasp of two individuals who had just thwarted her attempt at theft. The brothers exchanged a knowing look, their quick reflexes and coordination working in perfect harmony to stop the would-be thief.
The two brothers stood transfixed as the woman locked eyes with them. Tension filled the air as the three engaged in a silent stand-off, their gazes unwavering. Suddenly, the woman broke the silence by flicking David's hand off her wrist with quick reflexes. And swiftly, she grabbed both of the brothers' hands and pulled them after her, leading them to a secluded corner of the train. The trio disappeared from view, leaving the rest of the passengers to ponder what had just taken place.
(???) "Come on."
(Karito) Just goes with the flow
(David) Stammers
A minute later...
Karito stood tall, facing the white-haired woman. He could sense that she was trying to intimidate him, but he wasn't easily intimidated. He placed himself in front of David, shielding his younger brother and ready to defend him if necessary. The woman's eyes narrowed as she studied Karito, sizing him up. For a moment, the two stood in silence, their eyes locked in a silent stand-off. Karito looks at the woman's appearance looking her up and down. She is a young woman with naturally white hair and red-purple eyes. She wears light red eyes and lip makeup. Her hair is cut in a split bob, with her left side left longer, and dyed with a colorful pastel rainbow gradient. Her eyes appear to reflect with the colors of her hair. Her style generally follows mixed with as she wears a cropped white jacket with a black netrunner unitard with red accents over a pair of white shorts and high gray stockings and black knee-high boots.
(???) "So, what's your angle? Spill it."
(Karito) "My angle? It's not like I'm a mathematician, but I think it's pretty obvious what I want."
(???) "What do you want? You're messing up my work."
(Karito) "You could say that I'm here to ruin your day. Or, if you prefer, you could call me the thief catcher. Either way, you just tried to steal from my brother."
(???) "So, what? You're gonna put cuffs on me?"
(Karito) "Oh, I don't know. I might just let you go with a stern warning and a pat on the back. Or I could call the cops and have you locked up for good. It's a tough call, but I think I'll go with option B." Winks playfully.
Karito was caught off guard as the woman suddenly placed her hands on his cheeks, her fingers exploring the contours of his face. He shifted uncomfortably, not sure what to make of her actions. Was she trying to intimidate him? Or was she simply sizing him up? Regardless, the situation was becoming increasingly awkward for Karito as he tried to keep his composure. He wondered if he should push her away, but at the same time, he didn't want to escalate the situation any further. He stood there in silence, trying to read the woman's intentions.
(???) "Do I know you?"
(Karito) "Did you by any chance played VRchat? I meet a lot of freaks there."
(???) "What's VRchat got to do with anything?"
(Karito) "Well, if you have, I thought maybe you'd remember me. I'm kind of a big deal in that virtual world, you know. But, I guess not all legends transfer to the real world."
(???) "Never heard of it."
(Karito) "Really? You're missing out. It's a virtual world where anything goes, kind of like the real world. Except in VRchat, you can fly, be a unicorn, or even a giant piece of bread."
Karito's instincts kicked in as he noticed the woman's intentions to immobilize him. With lightning-fast reflexes, he wrapped his arms around her in a bear hug, trapping her in place. At the same time, his stinger silently extended from his forearm, hovering inches from the woman's side, ready to strike at a moment's notice. The tension in the air was palpable as the two stood locked in a staring contest, each sizing up the other, trying to anticipate their next move.
(Karito) "It's kind of awkward being this sensual with someone I just met, especially when my brother is watching. Let's keep it PG, hm?"
(???) "Strong and funny, how unique. How come I can't find any information on you?"
(Karito) "Well, I'm a pretty good hacker. I saw this series called Overly Cautious Hero and learned to always be prepared, y'know."
(???) Looking at David and quickly hacking him, "Ah! Lookie here, you boys are in trouble."
(Karito) Quickly but gently grabs her cheeks, making her face him "Eyes on me, Rainbow Dash."
(???) "... I feel like I've heard that somewhere."
(Karito) "It's just your imagination."
(???) "Before I was rudely interrupted by your handsomeness and your strong grip, I saw that your little brother had a Sandevistan. Damn. Do tell me where you found it."
(Karito) "Don't get too curious. Curiosity killed the cat, you know."
(???) Chuckles "I like you, brothers. Crazy idea. How about we work together?"
(David) Decides to talk "Doing what? Stealing?"
(???) "Is it stealing if I only hit Arasaka suits?"
(Karito) "We're in."
(David) "HUH?!"
(???) "You should learn from your big brother. He knows what's up."
(David) "Come on. Do we look like corporate to you?"
(???) "Funny you should ask. The scan did pick up an Arasaka Academy ID from both of you. I can definitely say that you don't look the type... but him." Looks at Karito "Mr. Valedictorian. Impressive. How come you didn't join any company."
(Karito) "Didn't like 'em. So I gave them the middle finger."
(???) "Hmm? Very interesting. You get more interesting by the second."
(Karito) "I get that a lot."
(David) Is getting tired of their flirting "So, you just target Arasaka, huh?"
(???) "Yup. Just them."
(Karito) "Let's do it, David. I have a... personal score to settle with them."
(David) Confused "Uh..." Sighs "Alright, fine..."
(???) Steps away from Karito "You two gonna break poor mama's heart if she finds out, you know."
(Karito) "Don't worry. That ain't gonna happen."
The trio walked back with the crowd of people, who were waiting inside the train, as the white-haired woman addressed them as if they were inexperienced.
(???) "Listen up. Lesson number 1." They continue to walk across the train entering different coaches "Less judgment, more awareness."
(Karito) "I don't need advice. I just want to know what's our cut."
(???) "We'll split the haul, 80-20."
(Karito) "Nope. That's not how we roll. Half and half. You won't have to do anything. That's like a free ride at a theme park."
(???) "Can you keep pushing out the klept shards?"
(Karito) "I can, it's pretty easy. I can know everything they have..." Looks down "Just like how I know you have a Midnight Lady cyberware implant. Looks like you're part cyborg, part foxy lady."
(David) Eyes widen
(???) "... We are going to have a serious conversation after this."
(Karito) "No, we aren't. That sounds about as fun as a root canal."
(???) "You sure you don't need me to supervise you two? I'm not sure if ya'll are up for the task."
(Karito) "Darling. I've done worse. I once got lost in a corn maze for three hours."
(???) Chuckles "Alright hot shot. Please show me what you got. Don't disappoint me."
(Karito) "Don't worry. I and my brother work pretty well together. We're like two peas in a criminal pod."
(Lucy) Extends her hand "I'm Lucy, it's a pleasure to meet you..."
(Karito) Shakes her hand "Karito and David. The Martinez brothers. It's like Bonnie and Clyde, but with a better fashion sense."
The train entered a tunnel, making the train slightly darker. The brothers took this chance to begin the mission. Karito briefly explained what they are going to do while David listened intently.
(Karito) Telepathy skill "Okay, David. I'm gonna be the hacker and you'll be the necklace snatch-er. Easy as pie."
(David) Thinks he's on a call "Alright, roger."
(Lucy) She's very confused as to why she can't hack into their "Phone call"
(David) "Alright, what's our target?"
(Karito) "Three o'clock. The one who looks like he's about to pass out."
(David) "Got 'im."
(Karito) "Alright. Here we go. Set? And... Go."
The sleepy businessman's klept shard was abruptly launched from his neck. David was quick on his feet, snagging the shard mid-air with the use of his Sandevistan. Meanwhile, Karito watched in amusement as his little brother pulled off the heist with ease. He continued walking down the aisle until he spotted an empty compartment. David smoothly slipped into the compartment and deactivated his Sandevistan, bringing his perception of time back to normal speed.
(David) Mentally "Easy as pie!"
(Karito) Telepatic skill "Alright, keep that rhythm. Don't get too cocky. We're going for a bigger target."
(David) "Alright, let's do it."
(Karito) "See those three hotties in chirpy she suits? Go!"
David activated his Sandevistan, striding past the trio of businesswomen with effortless grace. As their klept shards flew from their necks, David deftly snagged all three in one smooth motion, before returning to his starting position with the grace of a seasoned thief.
(Karito) Telepathic "Then the two braindance glazed."
David follows Karito's instructions and repeats the process.
(David) Scoffs and continues talking with Karito "Easy. Let's turn it up a notch, please."
(Karito) Is keeping an eye on Lucy in case she tries running away "Alright. Big fish, big loot coming up. The sumo's right behind you."
(David) Looks "Behind..." Gasp "Doesn't scream corpo to me."
(Karito) "He's hired. But I can fuck him up if anything happens. Ready?"
(David) "Yeah... let's go."
The giant man's shards went flying off his neck as David went for the aerial acrobatics, leaping like a panther to snatch the shards mid-air. The giant man was unfazed, cracking his neck oblivious to what just happened, but David was breathless, feeling like he had just climbed a mountain. He quickly found a new hiding spot and deactivated his Sandevistan, taking a moment to catch his breath and celebrate his successful snatch with a satisfied sigh.
(Karito) Telepathic "Nice, nice. We've emptied this car dry. On the next stop, we leave."
(David) "Roger that."
Karito shot a quick smirk in Lucy's direction, impressed by the brothers' smooth heist. The trio continued down the train, strolling into the distance until they reached a set of stairs leading to a new district. There, they paused to discuss the job, with the three discussing the job's details.
(David) "So, how did we do?"
(Lucy) "Well, you're brother proved my doubts wrong when you two worked together. I couldn't even sneak a peek into your call."
(Karito) "Don't worry, Lucy. If I were going to rat you out, I would've gotten a better haircut."
(Lucy) "That's relieving to hear. I'd say you're worth the 50. Despite you all doing everything. Actually, I'm willing to give you 90% for a job well done."
(Karito) "90%?! What am I going to do with all this money? Buy a bigger calculator for all these zeros?"
(Lucy) Giggles "You're funny."
(Karito) "I'm hysterical, I know."
(David) "Are we gonna keep it rolling? Another car?"
(Lucy) "A different line maybe."
(Karito) Notices David having a nosebleed and mumbles "And it's starting."
(David) "Huh?" Looks at his bleeding nose
(Lucy) Doesn't notice "Someone's probably tipped the pigs off by now."
(David) Dizzying sounds
(Lucy) "When we hop around, less chance-"
(Karito) Grabs David before he falls "And there he goes."
(Lucy) "Oh my."
...
...
...
Ambulance
David was stretched out on the ground, his eyes closed and a look of exhaustion on his face. Karito mentally shook his head as he realized that pushing David too hard with the Sandevistan was a mistake, and now his brain was probably fried. Despite Karito's protests, Lucy quickly called for an ambulance, determined to give David the care he needed. Despite Karito's objections and suggestions for alternative "methods", Lucy was not to be swayed.
(Lucy) Speaking to the EMT "How bad is he?"
(Karito) Answer's quicker than the EMT "The typical rookie mistake. There were no precautions since the implant was installed."
(Lucy) "And you didn't stop him?"
(Karito) "I failed to contain myself."
(EMT nurse) "Which immunosuppressant is he on?"
(Karito) Sweats nervously
(EMT) "Hey, this guy insured?"
(Karito) "This is why I said what I said..."
(Lucy) "..."
(Karito) "Our insurance... got terminated..."
(EMT) "You know what that means right? Any family, legal guardian?"
(Karito) "I'm the only family he's got. His older brother."
(EMT) "Hold on a second." Looks for something
(David) Opens his eyes
(Lucy) "Morning. So, how are you feeling?"
(David) "I'm gonna hurl."
(Karito) "Oh hell no, not on me you aren't."
(Lucy) "Does he take any pills?"
(Karito) "I got some." Buys one from the system's shop in secret
(Lucy) "It would've been hilarious if you didn't have any."
(Karito) "Almost slipped my mind."
Suddenly the ambulance took a different turn missing the hospital.
(Karito) Sigh "Here we go..."
(Lucy) "Hey, lady, we just passed the hospital-"
The EMT lady pulled a gun but Karito was quick and grabbed the slide pulling it back hard enough that it breaks.
(Dark EMT) "You knew?"
(Karito) "You fucking stink of it."
The EMTs' skin turns green as they transform into a goblin. Karito quickly reacts, tackling the lady towards the front of the ambulance. He begins raining down blows on her face, but she quickly blocks and pushes Karito back. Karito regains his balance and tilts his head to the right, dodging a hook from the EMT. He then delivers a liver punch, causing the enemy to grunt in pain.
The EMT tries to tackle Karito, but Karito grabs their collar with one hand and the back of their head with the other. He pulls their head down while lifting his legs and hips up, tightening his hold on the EMT. Despite the EMT's struggles, Karito continues to tighten his grip until he hears a snap, and the EMT's body goes limp.
(Lucy) "That was cool."
(Karito) "Thanks, I barely..." Felt a surge of dark energy from the EMT "Get out."
(Lucy) "Huh?"
Karito grabs Lucy and places her on top of David on the stretcher. He kicks the stretcher out of the ambulance, causing it to gain momentum quickly. Lucy skillfully moves to the right, dodging a speeding car, and then quickly shifts direction to the left to dodge another car. She laughs like a maniac, enjoying the thrill of the exhilarating moment.
David just stares, completely mesmerized at Lucy's state.
As Lucy no longer sees any approaching cars, she uses her foot to slow down the stretcher until she is able to stop it completely.
(Lucy) "Whoa, your brother surprised me when he did that but that was very fun. I wonder how he's doing over there." Sees that David had vomited and had passed out "Whoops. Hey, doin' okay? Not gonna die, are ya?"
(David) Coughing "J-Just wait... for Karito..."
(Lucy) "Uhh... Okay?"
...
Karito fights to maintain his balance inside the ambulance as the surge of energy threatens to throw him out. The fully transformed goblin charges at him, but Karito stands his ground, trying to avoid attracting unwanted attention. The driver pulls out a gun and begins shooting, but Karito uses his partner as a shield, deflecting the bullets.
Karito then takes advantage of the situation and grabs the goblin, placing his fist under their jaw and extending his stinger to pierce through their head. He tosses the dead monster to the side and deactivates the ambulance's battery with a touch. With Toxin's help, he shoots a tendril that lands on the driver's head.
Karito exits the ambulance, his mask now on, and uses his webs to bring the vehicle to a stop. He quickly leaves the scene and heads toward David and Lucy.
...
(Lucy) "You sure you're brother is gonna be fine?"
(Karito) Appears out of nowhere "What about me?"
(Lucy) "OH SHI-! Don't do that?! What the hell happened over there?"
(Karito) "Well, I beat them up."
(Lucy) "Seriously?"
(Karito) "Yup. Anyways. Let's go to Docs."
(David) Passed out
(Lucy) Sighs
...
The trio arrives at Ripperdoc's clinic and Karito carefully places David on the examination table. He quickly explains the situation to the doctor, who listens attentively and nods in understanding.
(David) Wakes up "Huh...?"
(Doc) "David, buddy. Man, you look like shit."
(Karito) "Mhm. Totally."
(David) Scoffs weakly "Thanks a lot."
(Doc) "Karito, how many times did he fired it up?"
(Karito) "Six? No, maybe eight."
(Doc) "Jesus Henry Christ." Shocked "Grown-ass man couldn't take that punishment."
(David) "I was fine an hour ago and then... my nose popped a cork."
(Lucy) "Gonk had no immunoblockers. You care to explain?"
(Doc) "Ah, didn't really see the need."
(Karito) "Huh? So you DID have some? You fucking liar."
(Lucy) Scoffs "Thought wrong, then. Sell him the meds."
(Doc) "I really wasn't lying when I said I didn't have it. Shit off this shelf ain't gonna cut it. Different league. You good for it?"
(Karito) Sighs "I'm literally being sucked dry everywhere..."
(Doc) "Fucking right, I am! Ain't runnin' no charity, choom."
(Lucy) Paper rustle "How much'll these buy?"
(Doc) Chuckles "Two days' worth."
(Karito) "Those fucking chips only cost two days?"
(Doc) "Hey, feel free to shop around, hotshot. 'Course that might land you back with the Scavs." Laughs
(David) "Greedy bastard..."
(Lucy) Leaves the clinic
(Doc) "Sure you really wouldn't rather have it gone?"
(David) "Nope..."
(Doc) "Still can't quite believe you fired that thing up eight times in one goddamn day. You're either a total masochist or..."
(Karito) "It's on me. I should've stopped him but I didn't."
(Doc) "Listen close, you two. David can only do two a day, no more. Three maybe, but that's the max. No bullshit. Even if his body can take it, that egghead of his sure can't. Keep fucking around and that implant gonna scramble ya brain."
(Karito) "I'll keep it in mind."
(David) "You're saying a single implant could make e a cyberpsycho? Is that even possible? Never heard of that happenin' before."
(Doc) "Well, Davey, guess you just heard it from me, didn't ya?"
The brothers exit the clinic and Karito apologizes to David for not being more careful. However, David reassures his older brother, easing his guilt. As they step outside, they see Lucy engaged in conversation with someone on a call, causing Karito to feel a bit suspicious.
(Lucy) Looks back noticing them "Hmm?" faces them with a smile
(David) Shy chuckle
(Karito) Serious
The three walked for a little longer until deciding to sit on a bench.
(Lucy) "So, you all done?"
(Karito) "That's a wrap, baby!"
(Lucy) "Well then, I guess that's it for today."
(David) "What? No. I can keep running. Karito, I know you can keep going."
(Karito) "Oh no, little bro. Today is all about taking it easy. I don't want to risk your mental stability. The Sandy can wait for another day." facepalm "Why did I ever agree to this idea?"
(David) "B-But..."
(Karito) "Not to worry, I still think it was a good idea. I just don't want you to end up in the loony bin, that's all."
(David) "Oh... I was about to complain."
(Karito) "You're my brother, I'll always have your back."
(Lucy) "Plus, we can get chips another time."
(Karito) "Even after all that craziness, you still want to work with us?"
(Lucy) "Hey, you were impressive. Both of you work well together. It's gotta be that brotherly bond." chuckles
(Karito) "What can I say? Family is everything."
(Lucy) "I wish I could say the same..."
(Karito) "Family doesn't have to be blood, you know? It's about the bond and connection. And as long as you have people you care about and trust, they can be your family."
(Lucy) "I guess I can see that."
(Karito) "Glad we're on the same page." smirks
(Lucy) "You two up for tomorrow, though?"
(Karito) "Yeah, we are."
(Lucy) Stands up "Come on."
(David) Chuckles "She changed her mind, see?"
(Karito) Spider-senses "... I guess so."
(Lucy) "It's not work-related."
(Karito) "This is about to get interesting."
...
Lucy's apartment
(Lucy) "Right here."
(Karito) "...Just letting you know, I didn't buy any protection."
(Lucy) Giggles "Don't be silly."
(David) "You, uh... live alone?"
(Lucy) "Hm-mmm. And?"
(David) "Nothing..."
(Karito) Mumbles to David "Sorry, bro. Could've gotten the chance to lay some pipe." Chuckles
(David) Mumbles and smacks Karito's shoulders "Fuck off!"
(Karito) Snickers
(Lucy) Chuckles "What? Is he nervous or something?"
(David) "Of course not..."
(Lucy) "This your first time?"
(David) "Hell, no."
(Karito) "Correction: Hell, yes."
(David) "Karito!!!" Pissed
(Karito) "Haha!" Hysterical laughter
(Lucy) Giggles and opens the door to her home
(David) "Shut up, will ya!"
The three enter the apartment.
(Lucy) "Sit down. Relax. Beer's all I got. Do the two of you drink?"
(Karito) "Well, if tap water isn't even an option then sure."
(David) Uh, of course, yeah."
Lucy grabs three beers and gives two to the brothers.
(David) "Cheers."
The three gently clicked their glasses together. Karito and Lucy were completely fine but David couldn't handle the taste of the drink and started coughing, making the other two laugh.
(Karito) "What's the matter, little bro? Can't handle your hops?" Chuckles.
(David) "This tastes like...ugh... cleaning solution."
(Lucy) Giggles "It's an acquired taste."
(Karito) "Yeah, either that or you acquire a taste for it." Smirks.
(David) "I think I'll stick to water."
(Karito) "Don't worry, bro. I'll always be here to take one for the team." Holds up his beer and winks.
(Lucy) "Aww, you two are too cute."
(Karito) "I'll take that as a compliment." Grins.
(David) "Can we change the subject?"
(Karito) "Hey, I'm just messing with you. Let's talk about something serious, like...what's the meaning of life?"
(Lucy) Laughs "You're a goofball, Karito."
(Karito) "Hey, I'm just keeping the mood light."
(Lucy) Looks at David "What's with the get-up, though?" Rustling sounds "Take it off."
(Karito) "Woah, this escalated."
(David) "What? Why?"
(Lucy) "Just do it. Come on." Takes his EMT jacket and walks with it while wearing it. She grabs a tablet and starts pressing buttons
(David) "Uh, wait. Don't mess with that. Come on." Kind of upset
(Karito) "Actually I think she's just giving the back a design."
(Lucy) "I am, actually." Shows a display on the back of the EMT jacket saying "Edgerunners"
(David) "Uh... Edgerunners?"
(Karito) "It's another word for cyberpunk."
(Lucy) "What your brother said. It's who you wanna be, don't ya?"
(David) Scoffs "JK's Edgrunners series. Shit, yeah, I'm a fan."
(Lucy) Giggles and slowly takes off the jacket "You serious?"
(Karito) Thoughts "She's using her appeal to distract us... something's up..."
(David) Scoffs "Right back at ya." Looks around the room "Like that kinda gonk poster."
(Lucy) Turns serious for a moment "Got a problem?"
(David) "Uh... No problem. Just always whacked me out. All those ads makin' it seem like it's some kind of paradise or something. Lots of peeps died tryin' to turn that dumb rock into something useful. More like a prison camp than a paradise, if you ask me."
(Karito) Looking at the poster, it contained an astronaut pointing in a random direction with a spaceship in the background with the moon on the top of the frame. It contained words saying "Your new life awaits". He continued to look at Lucy that seemed to have her feelings a bit hurt by David's comment.
(Lucy) "Sounds to me like someone did their homework."
(David) "Uh, not really. Just a bunch of shit I learned in school."
(Lucy) "Begging your pardon, prep boy."
(Karito) "Lucy. There's more to that poster than your letting out on."
(Lucy) "You're right, but I don't want to talk about it..."
(Karito) Looks directly into her eyes maintaining contact "It's suffocating, isn't it? This city?"
(Lucy) "..."
(Karito) "I remember our mom working so hard to get David and me into that academy. I always told her my day was good, but in reality, I was constantly fighting with the rich kids trying to bully me. They couldn't handle a street rat being smarter than them, so they tried to torment me, but I always beat them. I endured it all for my mother, who just wanted us to have successful careers at Arasaka and climb the corporate ladder."
(Lucy) "So why did you stick around until the end if it was so bad?"
(Karito) "For my mother, why else would I endure it? She would always brag about me and David saying that we would get a job at Arasaka and climb to be a corpo ladder. She just wanted us to be successful so that we didn't have to struggle with finances as she did."
(Lucy) Leans in a little closer to Karito "It's not your dream, though, is it?"
(Karito) "No. Not at all. Nor is it David's."
(David) "Huh?"
(Lucy) "Well, yeah. You, and your mom, you three are different people. Why should you work to achieve her dream?"
(Karito) "... I wasn't."
(David) "What do you mean, Karito."
(Karito) "My reasons are... complicated. My dreams are my own. If I live by someone else's dream... nothing would've been for my sake."
(Lucy) "Sounds to me like you already found it."
(Karito) "No... far from it. I'm not even close and I won't be in a million years. But you do Lucy." Points "The moon. It holds some meaning for you."
(Lucy) "...David called it a prison camp. To me, this city's a whole lot worse."
(Karito) "I can understand where you're coming from."
(Lucy) "I... wanna go away. Far as possible."
(Karito) "Keep dreaming. It'll happen eventually. I know."
(Lucy) Smiles "Come on. Got something to show you two."
(Karito) Spider-Sense "..."
(David) "Huh?"
The three grabbed their braindance devices as Lucy gives them a Chip with the same logo as the astronaut from earlier. David and Karito stared at each other, realizing they would be forced to share the braindance bed like sardines in a can. Lucy, with a mischievous grin, promptly used Karito's chest as a pillow and snuggled in, leaving David no choice but to use Karito's shoulder. Karito let out a sigh, shooting a "Really?" look at Lucy and David, who just shrugged and chuckled in response.
With a flick of a switch, they activated the braindance and were transported into a virtual space.
The three were transported into a virtual reality of the moon. David amazed by the quality of the braindance starts to increasingly get excited.
(David) "Whoa! Check out this resolution! I can feel the fucking sun."
(Karito) "Who needs a sun tan when you can have a 'nuclear explosion to the face' tan?" Refers to Civil War when he survived the nuclear bomb
(Lucy) "That's through your personal link. It's what allows you to feel the heat of the sun. Of course, you two would be fried crispy if I gave you the actual temp."
(Karito) "Ah, don't worry Lucy, I've got SPF 100 million, I'm good to go!"
(Lucy) "I know you're pretty strong Karito but you won't impress me with that." Chuckles
(Karito) Looks at his adaptability skills "But it's true, I'm like a virtual cat, always landing on my feet!"
(Lucy) "Anyways, I made sure to lower the settings and mellow out the experience. Should I dial it up?"
(Karito) "Nah this is fine. Look at David, he's literally floating...Wait... DAVID!"
Karito had saved David from going deeper into the darkness of space.
(David) "I might've jumped a little too hard..."
(Karito) "No shit, if this wasn't VR you would've been stranded in space... and very dead. Good thing I was there to save you, your personal space hero!"
(Lucy) Laughing her ass off "Oh my god! I should've recorded that. Both of your reactions were priceless! You two are like a virtual Laurel and Hardy!"
(David) Starts to do acrobatic things
(Karito) "Look at him go... like a virtual acrobat, or should I say, space-robat!"
The three then decided to jump around on the virtual moon, just having fun with the decreased gravity.
(Lucy) "Nova, huh?"
(David) "Fucking awesome!"
(Karito) "This is a lot better than being stuck between verses."
(Lucy) "What?"
(David) "What?"
(Karito) "Forget I said anything."
(Lucy) Waves her hand signaling to follow her "Come over here, you two."
The three approached a massive space station on the moon's surface. Two NPC astronauts were busily conducting research, but Lucy was beckoning them to follow her further. Despite her eagerness, Karito couldn't shake off the growing unease he felt. His spider-sense was tingling, warning him of potential danger. The hair on the back of his neck stood up as he cautiously followed Lucy and David deeper into and past the space station.
David looked at Lucy's hands, waving him forward. He felt a sudden urge to grab her hand, but before he could, Lucy quickly grabbed both brothers' hands and took a big leap across the space station. The solar panels on the station lit up, casting a radiant light that made it seem like a constellation of stars. The sun's rays shone down on the trio, illuminating their bodies in its bright light. Lucy then landed on a mountain cart, with David and Karito hanging on to the sides, as she revved up the engine. The excitement of the moment was palpable as they raced across the moon, surrounded by the beauty of the glowing stars and the vastness of space. It was a moment they would never forget, and the thrill of adventure filled their hearts as they embraced the unknown.
After driving for a while, Lucy stopped the vehicle and the three of them continued on foot. As they walked, they stumbled upon a stash of astronaut helmets and decided to put them on for fun. Karito couldn't resist the opportunity to tease his younger brother, David, making fun of how silly he looked in the helmet. David, as expected, got angry and started arguing with his older brother, much to Lucy's amusement. She watched the two siblings bicker and laughed at the comical display of sibling rivalry. Lucy then caught Karito's attention and handed him a strange-looking object. At first, Karito thought it was a Capri Sun, but as he looked closer, he saw that it said "Gravity Free Bubble" on the packaging. A mischievous grin spread across Karito's face as he realized he could use the item to further tease David. He called out to his younger brother, who came over grudgingly. Karito threw the package to David, who assumed it was a drink because of the straw attached to it. But as soon as David took a sip, he started coughing and sputtering as the bubbles from the "drink" filled his mouth. David looked at the packaging and saw what it actually was, which only made Karito and Lucy laugh harder. David, now frustrated, grabbed his helmet and threatened to hit Karito with it. But the older sibling easily ran away, taunting David and making him give up on his pursuit. The two siblings continued to tease each other as they explored the space station, much to Lucy's entertainment. The scene was filled with laughter, good-natured teasing, and the camaraderie of siblinghood.
"Spider-Sense will temporarily control of the body due to the player's consciousness being in a virtual world. As a safety mechanism, all threats will be incapacitated, due to the fact that they are plot-relevant."
Karito observed the message from his system with a mixture of skepticism and intrigue. He was aware that Lucy may be trying to distract him and David, but he was not overly concerned about it. He had confidence in his own abilities and believed himself to be superior to most of the people in this dimension, with the exception of the "darks." As he approached the edge of the crater, where David and Lucy were seated, he considered his options. He decided to play along with Lucy's plan, at least for the moment, and allow his spider-sense to take control of his body as a safety mechanism. This way, any threats in the real world would be neutralized, as they were crucial to the plot. His little brother David gestured for him to come to sit with them, and Karito complied, albeit with a sigh. He took a seat next to them, his mind already analyzing the situation and preparing for any potential challenges that may arise.
(Lucy) "First time I've shown anyone this."
(David) "Oh, really?"
(Karito) "Quick question though. Why us?"
(Lucy) "Dunno. Guess it just felt right."
(David) Hums shyly
(Karito) "Cut the crap, Lucy. My senses are telling me you're lying to us. What's the real reason you brought us here?"
(Lucy) Plays dumb "What are you talking about?"
(Karito) "Don't play dumb. I know you led us into a trap."
(Lucy) "You're being paranoid, Karito."
(Karito) "Paranoid? No, I'm being cautious. And I don't like being played for a fool."
(Lucy) "I'm not playing you for a fool. I just wanted to show you something cool."
(Karito) "And I'm supposed to believe that? I don't think so. You're hiding something and I want to know what it is."
(Lucy) "I'm not hiding anything. You're just being paranoid."
(Karito) "Don't try to deflect the blame. You're the one lying to us and I'm not going to stand for it."
(David) "Guys, calm down. Let's just figure out what's going on."
(Lucy) Decides to reveal herself "You're very perceptive, Karito. I kind of knew you would figure me out, shame it took you so long."
(Karito) "I suspected something was off from the moment you told us to come over. You really thought I was such a simpleton that I would follow you to your home, along with my brother, without being suspicious of your intentions? And that phone call you made at the clinic, who were you speaking with?"
(Lucy) "What does it matter now? You're already too late."
(Karito) "I hate to shatter your delusions, Lucy. But the truth is, you've already lost this game before it even began."
(Lucy) "What?"
Outside the braindance
Entering the apartment, Maine, Dorio, Kiwi, and Pilar were on high alert. Lucy had informed them that Karito was extremely dangerous, and they came prepared for a fight. Unbeknownst to them, Karito was 100% organic. His only piece of cybernetics was his symbiote suit, Toxin, which they were unaware of. The four of them looked at the three and scoffed upon seeing Karito. They didn't think much of him, despite his impressive physique. They assumed that Lucy was simply overestimating his abilities.
(Pilar) "Lucy really called the majority of us for this guy? He doesn't look like much besides being... actually the most handsome man I've ever seen."
(Maine) "Nah, he's probably just good at fighting but he won't stand a chance against all of us."
(Kiwi) "This is seriously a waste of time."
(Dorio) "Why couldn't she just take the younger sibling?"
(Pilar) "Well, I assume he's overprotective that's why he came."
(Dorio) "Let's just tie him up and be done with this. We just want the Sandevistan."
(Maine) "I'll deal with it."
Maine approached Karito's unconscious body with the intention of tying him up, but Karito surprised him by suddenly grabbing Maine's wrist with his hand. Maine tried to punch Karito with his free hand, but the latter effortlessly caught it and overpowered Maine, who was unable to use his strength to fight back. Karito rose from the bed with a swift movement, surprising the other three people in the room with his sudden display of strength and agility. Despite being half the size of Maine, Karito easily overpowered him with a front kick, sending the giant man crashing to the other side of the living room. Kiwi tried to hack Karito's cybernetics but was shocked to find that he had none, leaving her completely bewildered.
(Kiwi) Shocked "I've tried everything, but I can't seem to penetrate his systems! He doesn't have any cybernetic enhancements."
(Pilar) "That's impossible! Does he have some kind of advanced security protocol that's blocking me?"
(Kiwi) "No, it's not that. He's simply organic. There's not a single cybernetic implant on him."
(Dorio) "What?! How is that possible? How did he manage to take down Maine then?"
(Kiwi) "I don't know, but we need to be careful. He's not like any of us. We need to fight him using our physical abilities and weapons, not technology."
(Pilar) "Yeah, I saw what he did to Maine. He tossed him around like a rag doll. He's definitely not normal."
Dorio went first with an attempt to overpower Karito with her combat skill, but she was caught off guard by his lightning-fast reactions. Karito expertly blocked each and every punch she threw, his quickness and precision leaving Dorio struggling to land a hit. Despite her best efforts, Karito's hand movements were a blur as he effortlessly dodged her jabs and hooks.
Suddenly, Karito countered with a swift left hook, followed by a powerful right uppercut that sent Dorio reeling backward. Karito's speed was truly remarkable - he was in and out with his strikes, always one step ahead of Dorio's every move.
Dorio tried to regroup, focusing on her defense, but Karito was relentless. He closed the gap between them, unleashing a flurry of punches that had Dorio on the ropes. With a final burst of speed, Karito delivered a punishing blow to Dorio's jaw, sending her crashing to the floor.
Pilar charged at Karito with his fists raised, ready for a street fight. He threw a series of punches, but Karito was quick to dodge each one with ease. Karito retaliated with lightning-fast jabs, leaving Pilar reeling. Karito then delivered a swift uppercut, sending Pilar flying backward. He hit the ground with a thud, groaning in pain.
Just as Pilar was getting back up, Kiwi entered the fray, armed with her dual guns. She fired at Karito, but he was too fast for her. He dodged each shot with incredible agility, closing in on her with each step. Kiwi tried to retreat, but Karito was upon her in a flash. He grabbed both of her guns, twisting them out of her grip. Kiwi was shocked, unable to believe the raw strength and speed Karito possessed.
Karito then turned his attention to Pilar, who was getting back to his feet. He lifted Pilar off the ground with ease, holding him up with one hand. Pilar struggled, trying to break free, but Karito's grip was too strong. He then tossed Pilar aside like a rag doll, sending him crashing into a nearby wall.
Kiwi tried to attack Karito from behind, but he was too quick for her. He caught her by the wrist, using her own momentum to throw her across the room. She hit the ground hard, groaning in pain.
Maine finally regained consciousness and took in the chaotic scene before him. His entire team was lying on the ground, defeated and battered, but Karito was still standing tall, his eyes closed as if in a deep sleep. Maine was filled with rage as he approached the seemingly tranquil figure with his military training. He was determined to take Karito down once and for all.
With a flurry of punches, Maine launched an all-out attack on the slumbering Karito. To his surprise, Karito effortlessly smacked away each punch with a flick of his wrist, as if he were brushing away a pesky insect. Maine was taken aback by Karito's nonchalance, but he was not one to give up so easily. He had faced tougher opponents in his military career, and he was not going to let Karito beat him.
Maine's resolve only grew stronger as he reached for his trusty gun. He pointed it at Karito's face, less than two feet away from his target. He fired a shot directly at Karito's head, determined to finally bring the fight to an end. But to Maine's shock and disbelief, Karito caught the bullet in his teeth. Before Maine could even process what had just happened, Karito headbutted him with incredible force, sending him flying to the ground.
Maine was dazed and confused as he lay on the floor, trying to make sense of what had just occurred. He couldn't believe that someone could react that fast, much less catch a bullet with their teeth from such a close range. It was as if Karito was not human, but something beyond his understanding. Maine gritted his teeth in frustration, feeling defeated and powerless.
But Maine was not one to give up easily. He rallied his team and together, they launched a coordinated attack on Karito. Dorio and Maine fought side by side, throwing a barrage of punches and kicks, while Kiwi and Pilar provided cover fire from a safe distance. Despite their combined efforts, Karito was undaunted. He effortlessly blocked all of their attacks and countered with powerful strikes, using his muay thai skills to deliver devastating blows to his opponents.
Maine launched a powerful haymaker, determined to bring Karito down, but the elusive figure easily dodged the punch and delivered a knee strike to the side of Maine's head, sending him crashing to the ground with a loud thud. In an instant, Karito appeared in front of Pilar, who threw a wild punch in desperation. Karito easily blocked the punch with his elbow, and Pilar flinched in pain as he almost broke his cybernetic hand.
Kiwi tried to tie Karito up with a metal rope, but Karito pulled Pilar towards him, causing Kiwi to accidentally tie up Pilar instead. Pilar's neck began to bleed as he struggled to free himself, and Karito saw his opportunity. With a swift spinning elbow strike, Karito took out Kiwi, sending her spinning through the air before she fell unconscious to the ground.
Pilar was the last man standing, staring at Karito with fear in his eyes. Karito approached him, his eyes blazing with fury. He raised his arm, ready to deliver the final blow, but as he was about to strike, he suddenly paused. Karito looked around and saw that his opponents were either unconscious or in too much pain to continue fighting. He realized that there was no need for further violence.
With a sense of finality, Karito webbed up his defeated foes and hung them upside down from the ceiling. He then slumped down on the couch and slouched down. The Spider-sense has finished its job.
Lucy and David stumbled out of the braindance chamber, their minds still hazy from the simulation. They rubbed their eyes, trying to adjust to the real world, but what they saw made them both freeze in shock. The room was in shambles - furniture overturned, wall decorations askew, and various objects scattered on the floor. They couldn't believe that they had slept through all the chaos.
Panic set in for Lucy as she realized Karito was nowhere to be found. She quickly reached for David, intending to use him as leverage, but she was caught off guard by a web shot that hit her square in the face. The sticky substance covered her entire head, and she fell to the ground unconscious.
David was at a loss, unsure of what was happening. He watched in confusion as his brother Karito walked into the room, yawning and rubbing his eyes.
(Karito) "Oh shit, I forgot that I had deactivated your sense of hearing, both of you," He said, typing away at his hacking skill "There we go."
(David) "Karito, what's going on?" He demanded, his voice shaking.
(Karito) "We were almost ambushed by her team," He replied, his tone calm and collected "But don't worry, I took care of it."
(David) "How did you...?" He stammered, his mind racing with a hundred questions
(Karito) His eyes glinted with a hint of amusement "Because I am Spider-Man. That's how." Looks at Lucy suffocating "Oh fuck." Pokes two breathing holes "There we go." Webs her up with the others
With a smirk, he strode over to David and extended a hand to help him up. David hesitated for a moment, still in disbelief, but eventually took his brother's hand and let himself be pulled to his feet.
(Karito) "Come on, let's clean up this mess," He said, a hint of annoyance in his voice. "I don't want to attract any unwanted attention. We should also interrogate them."
David watched as his brother effortlessly moved around the room, fixing everything with his webs and his superhuman strength. He still couldn't wrap his head around what was happening, but he knew one thing for sure: Karito was unlike anyone he had ever met before. And he was proud to call him his brother.
...
Maine was feeling the weight of his defeat as he hung upside down, tied up with the others. He had never faced an opponent like Karito before, someone who seemed to possess superhuman abilities. The soldier's thoughts raced as he tried to figure out how to defeat this enemy, but he kept coming up empty. He couldn't find any weaknesses or exploits in Karito's technique, it was like he was unstoppable.
The sound of footsteps caught Maine's attention, and he turned his head to see Karito approaching them. The man was still as composed and relaxed as ever, almost as if he had not just defeated the entire team with ease. He stood in front of Maine and looked down at him, his expression unreadable.
(Maine) "What are you?" He asked, his voice filled with a mix of anger and frustration.
(Karito) He simply chuckled, "I am what you cannot comprehend, a being beyond your understanding."
(Maine) He scowled, "Don't give me that nonsense. You're just a man, no different from the rest of us."
(Karito) His expression turned serious, "You are wrong, Maine. I am not like the rest of you. I possess abilities that you cannot even imagine. I have honed my skills for years and fought things you can only imagine. You can never hope to beat me."
(Maine) He could feel his frustration growing, "Why are you doing this? What do you want from us?"
(Karito) "I have my reasons," He replied "but what I want from you is simple. I want you to understand that I am not to be trifled with. I am not to be underestimated. And you made the mistake to attack my brother.
(Maine) He could feel his anger boiling over, "I won't stand for this. I won't let you talk to us like that. We are soldiers, warriors, and we will not back down from a fight."
(Karito) He raised an eyebrow "Is that so? Then let's see what you're made of."
He broke the web cocoon that Maine was in and dropped him to the floor, and Maine quickly sprang to his feet, ready for the fight of his life. He charged at Karito with a roar, determined to take down this monster once and for all.
Karito simply stood his ground, a smirk playing on his lips as Maine approached him. The soldier threw a punch, but Karito easily dodged it, sidestepping to the side. Maine swung again and again, but Karito continued to dodge and sidestep, his movements fluid and graceful.
It was like Karito was reading Maine's mind, predicting his every move before he made it. The soldier was growing more and more frustrated, and he was starting to tire. He was no match for Karito's speed and agility, and he was starting to realize that this fight was lost before it had even begun.
Just when Maine thought it was over, Karito suddenly struck. He moved with lightning-fast speed, landing a punch square in the soldier's gut. Maine doubled over, gasping for air, and Karito seized the opportunity to land a powerful knee strike to Maine's face.
The soldier was sent flying, crashing to the ground with a loud thud. He lay there, dazed and disorientated, as Karito approached him once more. The man stood over Maine, his expression was unreadable.
(Karito) "Do you understand now?" His voice was devoid of any warmth or compassion. "You thought you could just barge in here and take me down, but you were wrong." His gaze was piercing as he towered over them, a silent but unmistakable threat. "Now...I want you to tell me why you're all here."
The group was rooted to the spot in their own web cocoons, fear gripping their hearts. They had never seen anything like this before, never encountered someone who could neutralize their weapons and hacking abilities with just a flick of his wrist. They felt small and powerless in his presence, completely overshadowed by his immense skill and abilities.
Karito's eyes were like daggers, piercing through their very souls as he waited for an answer. His patience was wearing thin, and they could sense that at any moment he could snap. They had never felt so intimidated, so completely outmatched. They had heard rumors of Spider-Man's abilities. Everything they heard about him was just a watered-down version of what he truly is. They all connected the dots and confirmed that Karito is the famous Spider-Man that has been going all around the city doing all sorts of things. They never imagine they would meet him this way, his power was something freighting but to see it firsthand was truly a sight to behold.
(Karito) "Speak!" He barked, his voice like a whip crack. "Or I'll make you regret ever coming here."
The group shared a look, realizing that their fate was in the hands of the man standing before them. They had to answer, they had to give him a reason or they would face his wrath. The silence in the room was deafening, as they all struggled to find their voices and speak the truth.
