After returning to Hong Kong, Wayne was busy with listing matters and came back almost mid-night every day.
The two did not talk to each other for almost a week. In the first few days, Cayenne waited too long at home. Gradually, she was afraid that he would be stressed, so she started to find something to do, and finally it was the weekend.
Cayenne got up earlier than him and quietly went downstairs to have a simple breakfast.
"Honey!" the voice from upstairs.
Cayenne hurriedly went upstairs, "Yes?"
Wayne waved and Cayenne sat next to him.
"It seems like I haven't seen you for a week." He missed her by his side when opened his eyes.
Cayenne smiled, "What would you like for breakfast?"
"Let's go out together."
Wayne drove his Lamborghini, had breakfast with Cayenne at Pacific Place, and then went shopping at Lane Crawford.
Cayenne looked at the vase, the manager stepped forward and handed over another smaller one, "Miss Tong, it comes with a set."
Wayne looked sideways and felt strange when he heard "Miss Tong".
He deliberately walked a little further, then suddenly turned around and said, "Wifey, I want to go check out the stereo."
Cayenne immediately blushed and pulled him away quickly.
But Wayne didn't move and said to the manager, "I'll come back later."
"Why are you so loud?" Cayenne complained.
"Is there any?" Wayne was smiling.
The phone rang, it was Zen.
"Coming over tonight? I'll ask Cayenne, wait." Before he asked, Cayenne had already nodded.
"She said yes." Wayne hung up the line, "Go to the supermarket."
Cayenne nodded again.
Wayne held her hand and told the manager, "We are in a hurry. Let's come back next time."
Cayenne made an embarrassed expression.
"Basketball finals tonight, buy some beers and go home."
Cayenne stopped to look at the salad dressing, "Hubby, fruit salad or vegetable salad?"
Wayne hugged her, "Why aren't you afraid of others knowing that I am your hubby now?"
"Because no one here, only you and me." Cayenne smiled, "No one knows if you changed your "wife"."
Wayne patted her buttocks. He was thinking about what he could do to give her more confidence.
Jo and Michelle bought desserts and came over, but Zen was alone.
Cayenne looked around, "Where's your girlfriend?"
Zen took a sip of beer and said, "We broke up."
"What's wrong?" Cayenne felt sad, no wonder he came alone to drink.
Wyane disagreed and said, "Cayenne." He gestured to her to bring food.
"Yes!" Cayenne handed it over quickly.
Jo brought dinner to Michelle first, but Wayne had already stopped him, "Jo, come quickly and sit down."
He ignored it, "What would you like to drink?"
Michelle smiled, "No, I will take it myself."
Cayenne was envious, "So considerate!"
Zen came over and said, "Cayenne, do you have any more beer?"
"I'll get it for you."
"No, I'm not Wayne." Zen was also surprised that Wayne had become difficult to please.
Cayenne walked to the kitchen, "Why did you break up?"
Zen choked and said, "There is no special reason." Then he laughed and touched her head.
Michelle said in a soft voice, "He often changes girlfriends. Don't bother, I can't remember their names either."
Cayenne was worried for nothing.
"How long have you and Jo been together?" Cayenne poured a glass of water for her.
Michelle thought about it, "We have been together for five years. We were in the same faculty at university, but he was a master's student and we got together after working for a few years."
"Well...what are your plans after that?"
"We are saving money to buy a house."
Cayenne hesitated, "Hmm do you plan to get married?"
Michelle answered in an uncertain tone, "I don't know, we haven't discussed it, but two people together don't need a marriage certificate, and our families don't support it."
This is also what Cayenne is worried about.
Michelle joked, "What's wrong? Did Wayne propose?"
"No, no!" Cayenne responded hurriedly.
"The most important thing for two people is to be comfortable, honest and happy. Even if our family doesn't support us and life is a little harder, we love each other and I believe we can go on together."
Michelle deeply believes in their feelings.
She looked at Cayenne, who was once a popular student in the school, and now she was discussing love with her.
"Cayenne Tong has been the best in discipline for three consecutive years. No one has ever broken the record." Back then, she had short hair, her gesture was full of boyish demeanour. She was polite to other classmates in everything. Unexpectedly, the person she likes is Wayne Chan.
Jo saw Michelle looking at Cayenne, he walked across the stage and asked, "What are you talking about?"
Michelle just smiled, "Things about high school."
Cayenne was lamenting the passage of time. She would not be timid in the past...
Wayne glanced at it and felt that their atmosphere was a bit weird.
After the basketball game was over and the guests were sent away, Cayenne looked a little upset.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing." Cayenne quickly put on a smile.
Wayne cuddled her, "Do you love me?"
She wrapped her arms around his neck and said, "I love you very much."
Wayne kissed her.
He has deliberately ignored her these days because he wants to confirm his feelings.
He really hoped that someone can accept and fall in love with his truest side, but he could not promise that he will not change, not his love, but in his attitude towards life, so he played bad tricks and tested her to see if she could accept him as an old and stubborn person in the future.
He hopes to have a long-term relationship.
Now even going to the supermarket has become fun since they were together.
But Cayenne found that she had become less confident.
These days she have been waiting for Wayne to come home, and her life has become meaningless.
The relationship seems to have changed into a "give and take".
How can she become the best version of herself? How can she take on the role of "giving"?
Wayne did not tell her that she gave him the greatest happiness.
At noon on Sunday, Wayne and Cayenne watched a movie and then had lunch nearby.
He held her hand and felt happiness.
Sitting down, Wayne looked at the menu and ordered, "Salad, seafood pizza." He asked her "Mojito?"
She nodded.
After ordering, Wayne looked at Cayenne.
"What passport do you hold?"
"Australian Passport."
"I'm from Canada. We don't need a visa to go to France."
Cayenne was curious, "Oh?"
Wayne held her hand, "Thank you for taking care of me. You make me feel loved. Every day after work, I want to go home because you are here."
Cayenne was a little shy, "Cheesy!"
"I'm sorry that I neglected you because I love my job, but I can't reduce my workload, but I will be with you the rest of the time, we will have some great time."
Cayenne was grateful for his confession. She knew he loved work and had already known it on the first day. This was also her choice.
"If you like, you can work, develop new interests, meet friends, and you don't have to make everything about me. I appreciate what you do for me, but I just want you to be happy."
Cayenne was very touched, with tears in her eyes, and nodded, "I understand."
Wayne gently held her hands, "Cayenne Tong, are you willing..."
Cayenne quickly covered his mouth, "Mr Chan, are you planning to propose with pizza?"
Wayne laughed, "You..."
Cayenne put the pizza into his mouth and said, "Eat it and don't say any more."
Unexpectedly, Cayenne's heart beat so fast that he would propose to her one day.
After all these years, looking at him still makes her heart beat faster.
Cayenne was happy.
When Wayne drove home and held hands, he felt their relationship was going steady. It seems that she should agree and prepare well for the proposal.
After Wayne got out of the car, he took the key out first and was about to open the door when a people suddenly jumped out.
"Wayne!" A lady hugged him and cried, then pulled down his neck to kiss him.
