"It feels like an eternity" she replied, taking another amulet and placing it inside a chest. After a few seconds, a rune on the chest lit up, and she opened it to give the amulet to a waiting disciple, who thanked her and quickly left. She then took the next amulet from the next disciple in line.
"What is she doing?" I asked.
"Charging amulets" Xia Tao replied, causing me to be taken aback once more that day.
