Once Abrial finally emerged back into the gardens, blinking in pain at the sudden sunlight and disoriented from drunkenness, someone grabbed her arm violently.
"Abrial!" It was Finley, sounding somewhere between distressed and angry. "Where have you been? I've looked for you everywhere! Did I not tell you to stay where you were? Drink this!"
As Finley pressed a cup of water to Abrial's lips, Abrial took it and gave Finley an utterly haunted look.
"I've been to a place I shouldn't have, and seen and heard things I never wanted to hear…"
"Ah," Finley said, sounding slightly calmer than before. "First, please do not do that again. I will have to watch you even when getting water from now on. Second, you saw someone kissing?"
Abrial stared at Finley, glugging down the water like it would cleanse her brain. "...Wh-what? How'd you know…?"
A slight, imperceptible smile curled the corner of Finley's lip, while a gleam flashed in her eyes.
