"Ha…" Suddenly, Shao Cheng let out a noise that sounded half like a sigh…and half like a laugh?!?! Abrial startled. She spluttered, lost for words. As she reeled in confusion, Shao Cheng muttered something strange:
"Isn't this weird?"
Abrial stared at him. "...What's weird? You're weird! Are you calling me weird?"
Shao Cheng shook his head, letting out that odd half-exasperated laugh half-sigh noise again. He looked sideways at Abrial with narrowed black eyes while absently stirring the mouth watering-smelling pot.
"...You are weird. But I meant…this. You and me, fighting like this. We barely even know each other. I've spoken to you twice. Why the fuck are we fighting so naturally? Why am I cooking for you?" He looked genuinely a little lost as he glanced down at the bright chili red, steaming pot, as though really confused as to why he was stirring it and making dumpling soup for someone he couldn't stand.
