After a few hours of passing through all these riches, the "Royal Family" of Roatia was led to a dining pavilion right next to the Emperor's obsidian throne room. It was even more magnificent than the courtyards outside. The ceiling was so high that you had to squint to see it, and fancy white lanterns hung down at different heights, providing a soft, luxurious light. The air smelled like lotus, faintly, with a mix of citrus. The tables and chairs seemed to sparkle. Wow…The Emperor's taste really was first-class. Even if he was a tyrant and a mass-murderer.
At the head of the table, there was an enormous, obsidian-black throne that gave off an ominous air. It was clearly reserved for the Emperor.
