The first day of the third month, the first day of the Five-Year-Feast
______
A glimmering golden carriage trailed bumpily through the rolling hills of northern Gongkua, followed by an endless procession of wooden carts and carriages. In them were piled all sorts of things: servants, grains, piles of shining quartz gemstones, polished red wood. Still others carried bags and bags of dried corn, and others were stuffed with horses and pigs and cows. The procession following the golden carriage was slow and deliberate, crawling up and down the hills that weren't well-carved for a hundred carts to ride through. Surrounding the golden carriage marched a brigade of guards.
It was the Roatian Procession of Tributes, headed to the Imperial Capital of Gongkua to be handed over to the Emperor's storages. And sitting in that large, round golden carriage in front, was the Royal Family of Roatia.
At least, what was left of the royal family.
