Everything was…dark. Like, a-night-with-zero-stars dark.
Was she…floating?
What the fuck was going on???
Abrial tried to reach out her hand in front of her face to see something, only to find that—what the fuck? She didn't have a hand?
Or, no—she couldn't feel her hands. It was like a dream—one where she didn't have a body, or not one she could use, at least.
Suddenly, a faint warm glow appeared not too far ahead.
"What the—?" Abrial squinted at it—or just looked in that general direction, since, you know, she couldn't feel her eyes and all—as the glow intensified and squirmed, like a ball of light trying to take shape. Slowly, it solidified into the pale form of a person, standing not too far away from Abrial.
