At last, the time for Bi Gho's long-awaited coronation had arrived.
Normally, coronations were one of the grandest events in Gongkua; the same went for back when it was the Kingdom of Gongkua. There were golden and scarlet decorations hung all over the palace and the streets of the Imperial Capital, thousands of red lanterns lifted into the sky at the time of coronation, which was always at dawn on the first day of a new month to symbolize a lucky, fresh start for the new Emperor. There was a banquet held throughout the Imperial Huo Palace, and the festivities spilled all through the streets of the capital, with the palace providing meat of all varieties and rare pear wine for all. It was an event said to a quarter-drain the treasury of Gongkua (which…wasn't completely an exaggeration 0.0. For the month after, even the Emperor or King would have to eat cheap meats to make up for the extravagant expenses).
