"He's in there," Evie said carefully, looking at the closed door in front of her.
The building in front of her was too small so she preferred to call it a shack. Even if the door in front of her was closed, she could guess that there might only be a room that was used as a bedroom, a kitchen, and also a living room within the tiny house, and apart from the all-in-one room, there would probably be a bathroom as well, but its size would definitely not allow its owner to lie on the bathroom floor.
But, no one in their right mind would want to lie on the bathroom floor, wouldn't they? Evie didn't know why she would think such a thing, but then she brushed the thought aside as she glanced at Simon who was standing one step behind her.
From the old man's face, Evie could see that he was terrified, and she couldn't help shaking her head at his expression. "You can wait for me here. I will take care of the wolf myself," she said without hesitation.
But Simon's eyes immediately widened after hearing what his master had just said. "You... you can't go in by yourself, My Lady! How about I call the bodyguards for you? Just let them take care of the werewolf, okay?" He tried to persuade the Vampire Queen.
Unfortunately, the Queen didn't look pleased after hearing his suggestion. "You know how a werewolf won't be able to control himself completely on a full moon night, right? I know they won't completely lose their sanity on a full moon night, but the presence of a human near them will probably just fuel their frenzy, and in the end, they will eat humans without even thinking about the consequences. Do you want to see trouble like that, Simon?"
"…" Simon didn't answer the question verbally, but he hurriedly shook his head in response to the woman.
Evie seemed satisfied after seeing his answer, and she smirked at the man before continuing, "This werewolf must have known the consequences, and that's why he rented a house away from densely populated areas. He knew the risks, and that was why he didn't go anywhere during a full moon night. A werewolf would normally follow his instincts to hunt on a full moon night, but this place is far from a forest or river, and I think our little werewolf has prepared some food for himself in this hut so he doesn't have to hunt outside."
Evie's red eyes glanced dangerously at the house once more, and she smirked when she heard a faint chewing sound from inside the house. Sure enough, the werewolf was having a feast in the house at the moment.
She knew what would greet her the moment she opened the door in front of her, but that didn't stop her from doing what she wanted. Without waiting for Simon to respond, Evie brought her feet closer to the front door of the house, and instead of tapping on the wooden surface like a polite guest, she immediately grabbed the doorknob before her hand was engulfed in red smoke.
The door was locked, but the red smoke slipped through the almost non-existent gap between the door and the door frame, and it seemed the smoke helped her unlock the door from the inside. When she turned the doorknob, it immediately opened, and the vampire smirked in satisfaction.
The red smoke that had previously enveloped her hand to help her unlock the door soon disappeared once the owner didn't need it anymore, and she didn't even pay attention to it as she brought her feet to enter the house.
The house was engulfed in darkness, as expected. However, darkness was no hindrance for a vampire, and that's why Evie didn't stop after walking past the door. She could feel how Simon was following her from behind, but she didn't care about that.
It seemed that Simon was no different from a loser as he even walked behind his master, but Evie could understand Simon's fear because the old man was just a weak vampire, and he had no fighting ability at all.
Evie really wanted Simon to leave her alone right now, but she knew that Simon wouldn't listen to her even though he wouldn't be able to fight back if something happened to them.
At a time like this, Evie could only rely on herself. She thought that everything wouldn't go wrong as long as there wasn't a sudden attack on her like when someone suddenly wanted to kidnap her today, and that was why she kept her footsteps to enter the house.
Her prediction was accurate that the house only had one room that was used as a bedroom, a kitchen, and also a living room, but no one was there when Evie finally got inside the house. It was odd enough since Evie had assumed that the werewolf would be having a feast in the room, but she wouldn't give up as she continued to use her keen hearing to follow the source of the sound she was hearing.
There was a door in the house, and it was the only door there. Previously she had seen the bed in the main room of the house, and that was why she was certain it was not the bedroom behind the closed door.
She could guess what kind of room it was, but she still opened it with her hand. The moment she opened the door, she could see how a big black wolf was enjoying live chickens as food.
"This wolf is crazy. Why is he eating in this tiny bathroom when there's a bigger room in this house? Don't tell me he's even going to lie on the floor inside this tiny bathroom after he finishes eating," Evie muttered to herself as she could see the situation inside the bathroom, but apparently, her mutterings weren't gentle enough, and that was why the wolf's sharp eyes caught her.
In a short time, a pair of red eyes made contact with another pair of blue eyes, and the owner of the blue eyes let out a treacherous growl.
