A ball rang loudly as students could be see quickly making their way out of school, children and teenagers mixing up in the crowd as they passed the entrance gates, for their was only one school in Olive Grove, serving for teaching all ages.
Three girls on their last year met up in front of the gate, the third arriving late and resulting in them being the only ones left in the area as the gate was soon closed up.
"What the hell were you doing?" asked one of the them.
"I was trying to find my kid cousin but the little shit must have left without me, if he gets kidnapped, it will be his fault" Ava Cooper responded as she readjusted her glasses, glancing up the street, now mostly emptied of both people and cars.
"Any of you know the creep staring at us over there?" she asked as she pointed straight at the guy without hiding it.
"Looks like Brad's older brother car" responded Olivia Bennett, her overly long hair swaying at slightest breeze of wind.
"How do you know what his car looks like? I don't even remember what Brad's last name is" commented Ava.
The third girl, Lily Sullivan, squinted her eyes at the man sitting in that car, noticing that his face looked awfully orange and that the car seemed a bit small for him.
"I don't know, let's move..." she slightly urged them as the driver of that car started it and began getting out of the spot he was parked on.
Slowly driving down, next to them but with a car, he quickly caught up, slowing down to the point that it seemed he would stop, staring at them the whole way before suddenly speeding up.
Ava gave him a double middle finger as he went away, cursing at him when he was out of earshot.
The man had been wearing a white trenchcoat and a mask covering only his face, an orange mask with some sort of papier-mache texture to it, bits of paper peeling off and giving the impression of more details ont he mask than it actually had.
The whole thing secured on his face with a simple rubber band.
"What was his deal? God damnit, I better find that brat quickly with a weirdo like this driving around" commented Ava, being the most talkative of the group as per usual.
"Could you help me?" she then asked.
"Well sure, it's the weekend and I have nothing to do" responded Lily.
"There is never anything to do in this town, nothing ever happens" spoke Olivia.
"The only thing of interest that ever happened here was some murders" she added afterward.
"Oh yeah, there was that, wasn't the killer fifteen? He's barely older than us" the three girls spoke as they walked through the as ever calm streets of Olive Grove, looking out for Ava's cousin.
"Was, he was executed yesterday" corrected Lily.
"Executed? I figured he was a nutjob and in an asylum, not in prison..."
Looking from a street corner, the little cousin, Mark moved away, trying to avoid getting caught, knowing that Ava would pull his ears and sermon him for hours on end, she was even worse than his own parents about this.
He hurried as the three girls were moving in his direction and once they turned that corner, he would be seen for certain.
Running as fast as his little legs allowed him to, he stumbled upon a scene and hid behind a lightpost instinctively.
"Who the hell are you?! Did you steal this car?" yelled a young man at the 'creep' the girls had seen earlier, he recognised his brother's car but not its driver.
"Where is my brother?!" he also asked, the driver quickly stepped out of the car, almost slamming the door right into Brad's legs.
He was about to shout again but had his words stuck in his throat as he looked up at the man's masked face, taking in the fact that this guy was gigantic.
One of his shoulders was easily as big as Brad's whole head, this stranger's arms also seemed a bit off, as if they were just a tiny bit longer than they should be.
The man's chest rose and went down as he took in a deep breath, before pointing at the trunk of the car in response.
All of Brad's initial anger dissipated as he only wanted to walk away, he looked around but the place was deserted, no cars were driving by, the two sides of the sidewalk were devoid of people and right behind him, was an alley with nothing but trash and a lack of light.
"Hey man, I must have been mistaken, sorry for the inconvenien-" before the young man could try to bullshit is way out, the huge man grabbed him by the throat, silencing him and started to walk forward, unbothered by the struggling man he was holding, disappearing with him in the dark alley.
The sound of two hard things colliding was heard and then, a sound reminding Mark of the time he had smashed a watermelon.
Something was dumped inside of one of the garbage can and the big man walked out of the alley seconds after entering it, getting into the car and driving away at a slow pace, driving up next to the petrified child, acknowledging that he was there but not doing anything about it.
Simply going away as if he had done nothing wrong.
"Ah! Here you are, I swear you will regret-" Mark burst into tears and ran up to his older cousin, pointing and speaking nonsense as he tried to explain, the red stains on the man's white trenchcoat and bloodied hands coming into his mind.
Ava and Olivia tried to calm him down, not understanding a word he was saying.
Lily, who was more experienced in children language due to having two small siblings, instead walked up to the alley he was pointing at, quickly noticing the large line of fresh blood on one of the walls.
'Hell no' she backed off from there, not brave enough to look inside of the dumpster from which a thin line of blood was flowing from.
