As May and Drag reached May's old room they entered and took a seat.
For a few minutes, no one spoke they were just sitting in comfortable silence, both of them were fine with that until Drag broke it.
"It's good that you returned boss I have a lot to report " Drag started the conversation with a tired tone he was obviously excused from something.
"You sound tired you okay ?" Even though May was not the most compassionate she still considered Drag her friend so she worried about him.
"I'm fine boss" Drag answered with a forced cheerful tone, When he looked at May's scowl he took a sigh and stopped pretending.
"It's just a lot has happened"
May was uncomfortable seeing the once Overly cheerful and goofy kobold from the past become this tired semi-depressed mess.
"Okay tell me about it, I brought drinks from the Humans, and let me tell you they are pretty good" May took out some alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks from her inventory and placed them in front of Drag.
Drag seeing the drinks took the biggest bottle which turned out to be whiskey and gave it a swig, he stopped drinking only when the bottle was half finished as he put it down
"You were right boss that was pretty good"
The same goofy expression May was familiar with bloomed on Drag's face again.

May continued to listen to Drag without interrupting she just sat in front of him while sipping her mead.
"All hell broke loose when the men started competing for the women it was a blood bath literally 'hick' but that was not the worse part cultists started popping up all around the forest, there was no harm at first but lately they started kidnapping our young 'hick'"

With that declaration, Drag broke down into tears, May was unsure how to comfort him so she just awkwardly stayed rooted in place while an oversized kobold cried in front of her.
"How could she choose him he was the chamber cleaner yet he took the love of my life" Drag managed to let out his grievances in the middle of his sobs
After what seemed like hours to May, Drag finally calmed down enough to at least have a proper conversation.
"I loved her boss she was the love of my life "
"Then just take her she is bound to love you eventually right? , or you can just kill her current lover and act as a shoulder to cry on, believe in yourself Drag you can do it" May had enough of Drag's crying so she tried to give him the best advice she could give.
"YOU ARE RIGHT BOSS I CAN DO IT I CAN GET HER "
"That's the spirit" May was surprised that her advice worked usually the person she advised would call her crazy, insane, or downright evil, it felt good to finally be acknowledged as the greatest advice giver in the land.
Just as Drag was about to run out of the room he stopped just shy of the exit then he turned towards May and kneeled down.
"Boss please help me win her heart !"
May was stunned by Drag's declaration, she knew nothing of love so how was she supposed to help someone else if she couldn't even help herself but to appear like the cool boss she is [in her mind] she agreed to help him

Gwendolyn ran into the carriage she was out of breath and her clothes were torn in some places and dirty in others but her biggest grievance was her hair it was messy and unsightly it even had twigs and leaves in it but right now she had no time to care about appearance no, she seemed to be in a hurry, as the moment she sat down she screamed at the driver taking a nap.

With Gwendolyn's command, the carriage started moving immediately.

With her head clear of unnecessary thoughts, Gwendolyn checked the ingredients she managed to gather, she gathered almost all of them, which left her feeling relieved and now all that was left was the Sorrow Demon Saliva, she knew she couldn't kill the Demon so the only option left was to buy it from a trustworthy source that won't tell the duke so that left her with only one option, she did not want to get her childhood friend mixed up in this but it seems there is no other option only she is rich enough to casually but a S rank demonic ingredient
So with newfound determination, she set her destination but first, she had loose ends to tie up.
When they were far enough from the Worg Den she called the driver into the carriage.
"Stop" With her command the carriage stopped.
"Come inside" The Driver started sweating buckets but he still obeyed.
When he opened the door the only thing he was able to see was a green blade of wind coming for his head his body refused to move, he was unable to even utter a word as.

The driver's head came clean off and with the tud that followed Gwendolyn got out of the carriage and untied one of the horses
'It has been a long time since I have ridden a horse'
Gwendolyn saddled the horse and started making her way towards the Royal Capital.
'Hehe Still got it ' Even though her face was expressionless her inner thoughts betrayed her satisfaction.
