Chapter 36 - Chasing

Hostile and strange looks joined together to scrutinize them as Rargnes watched the quests.

'Turs pays 1200 silver crowns for each lord class captured, 1000 silver crowns for warriors, and 800 silver crowns for mages. No limits.'

The means of transporting silver was easy. A leather purse the size of a hand that the natives transported firmly attached around their bell could hold between a hundred and two.

The existence of lords reduced the value of silver. A lord class like he had been in his first life made 1200 silver crowns in ten years. RedStar's wanted prize seemed more of a permission to kill him and steal his goods.

The association didn't want to lose money on him.

As they passed through the gate, the animosity towards them immediately dissipated. Only the nobles' men could use the portal in the lord's territory. .

Passing through the gate, the group found themselves back in their worlds. They looked left and right, making sure no one could see them.

"It's clear," said Sengrar.

Rargnes approached RedStar

"Can natives use my ring or Sengrar's scepter?"

"Yes, they just can't take the opportunities here."

"How much money would that make?"

RedStar pondered. "A few thousand?"

"Each?"

"Probably."

They traversed the city.

"How does this thing work?" one asked, pointing to a radar in his hand.

"It works on the system's power, but now you've connected it to people," the goblin said. "It's something great for the tutorial but quite difficult to do."

They had rented it at a considerable price.

The man pointed in a direction, and the arrow moved. "That way!" they said.

"But how did they not track us with this?"

"It's not precise; it requires system views, but many reward zones protect the Earthlings even if they don't clear them..."

They continued on the road and stumbled upon a small camp of about ten humans.

"Okay, like I said, I want no shit going on." Rargne said, "If someone isn't ready, he says it now. If he makes it on purpose, we'll kill him."

They nodded.

"If we can grow stronger, we might one day be able to kill the noble. This group shouldn't be able to make 15K, so we'll get one other group, and then we will continue to buy us land and all. We do it together, no remorse. Earth is already doomed. If we stumble on someone you love, you can pay to take them. But otherwise, don't fuck around. !"

"You want to continue after having paid the debt?"

"Let's make it this way," said Rargnes. "After we pay the global debt, everyone is free to leave or remain. I trust earthlings more than these invaders. If you remain, we'll build up a stack of money and use it for all of us to have the citizen's right, then by every means, we'll grow."

There was a silence.

"Every empire only needs one generation to destroy it. We just have to choose who will survive and become a part of them. For the most part, they are still stronger than us. This land is a golden opportunity. The strongest can't come over because the noble is blocking them. It's time to build up energy, and become elites."

"But they got so much time of advance from us, I mean, the others worlds and all," said Reaos

"The wasteland doesn't give energy by killing once the system is over, and it's been quite a while since the two first wasteland of our era," said RedStar

"There's only two?" asked Rargnes

"In this era, yes. Once enough wastelands close, the king awakens and changes the era. It happened 22 years ago and 19 years ago, but they were reserved by the king."

"Well, you heard this? Years of hard work can be bested by this opportunity that needs years to form and might never appear again in our lifetime. Don't you wish to have power stronger than a gun?"

Rargnes watched at the 7 of them.

RedStar spoke first: "I'm in this boat anyways, can't leave it while being wanted."

"For sure." said Sengrar, "I've always wished to have such strength."

"Of course," said Jean, "count on me."

"Do you count me in?" asked Heszer, Truckdriver.

"One fault, one punishment." said Rargnes. "if you want to, let's do it. But you follow the orders."

"Then fuck yes, I want to make this feel bad! Those fuckers who invaded our world!"

"Better than being alone." Said Noah.

"Not sure if I can, but let's see." Said Reaos

Their eyes pointed to Yurs.

"Oh, yes," said Yurs

Rargnes and Sengrar removed part of their clothes and headed towards the group that was discussing, sitting in a circle atop tree logs.

"Hey!" said Rargnes. "Sorry to bother you, but we're being chased by goblins."

"What? Goblins? Then get the fuck out of here!"

The commotion was such that they didn't notice people sneaking up behind them, slipping behind the rocks.

"Don't move!" said Rargnes, pointing his gun. Sengrar threw a fireball that landed on the ground not far from someone's feet. "If you move, you're dead! Now in line! Execution!"
