Chapter 1 - David's Resolve

I am David Silver, the fiery half of this enigmatic twin duo. While the world may perceive me as a hotheaded brawler and high school dropout, there's more to me than meets the eye. Beneath the surface of my combative nature lies a passion for art and an indomitable spirit. As I share my perspective with you, reader, I invite you to delve into the depths of my soul, where dreams of becoming a professional comic book writer or fighter burn bright. With my sister, Sophia, by my side, I navigate this tumultuous world, seeking balance between my fierce determination and the influence of her calming presence. Together, we are a force to be reckoned with, bound by blood and an unbreakable bond.

At seventeen, I was already a high school dropout, labeled a troublemaker, a rebel. I was on the verge of being permanently expelled. But I didn't care about fitting into their narrow mold. The system couldn't contain me; it never could. My mind was too restless, too full of ideas that couldn't be contained within the confines of a classroom. I didn't fight back the day I dropped out. I was a super genius in my own right, and the world just hadn't caught up to my level yet, so fighting was a bit pointless at that time. I could tell it bothered Sophia, but it's better this way i think.

Art and words flow through my veins like an unstoppable force and it constantly called out to me. Comics were my escape from the monotony of life, my passion. The way I could bring stories to life with ink and paper fascinated me. In my heart, I yearned to become a professional comic book writer, to create worlds that would captivate readers and make them forget about their own troubles, if only for a little while.I always found solace in the arts, expressing myself through sketches and paintings. My passion lies in creating storylines that transport readers to fantastical realms...

But life wasn't all about drawing and storytelling. I had another side, a side that hungered for physical release. Boxing became my outlet—a way to channel my frustrations, to feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins as I traded blows in the ring. It was a primal dance, a battle of strength, and I loved every second of it. However, beneath the hot-headedness and the brawling exterior, there was a deep-rooted sense of protection, especially for my family. My sister, Sophia, was my world. As the older twin, I felt an innate responsibility to shield her from harm, to be her guardian. I've always had a short fuse, a quick temper that can ignite in an instant. But there's one person who keeps me grounded—my sister, Sophia. She's the yin to my yang, the calming presence in my chaotic world.

She was my anchor, the one who kept my fiery temperament in check, and I couldn't bear the thought of anything happening to her.

Sophia was something special. She excelled in everything she put her mind to, her senior year being no exception. It made my heart swell with pride to see her achievements. She was top of her class, a shining star in the academic realm. Her intelligence surpassed mine, and I couldn't be happier for her success.

I leaned against the brick wall of the abandoned warehouse, my fists clenched tightly, knuckles scraped and bleeding. Sweat dripped down my forehead, mingling with the dried streaks of blood on my face. It was just another day. I've spent countless hours honing my combat skills, engaging in brawls with local thugs and dealing with the scum of the streets. Call it a pastime or a way to blow off steam, but for me, it's a reminder of the strength I possess, both physically and mentally.

As I wiped the blood from my face with the back of my hand, my thoughts drifted back to my sister. I wondered what she was doing at that moment, her mind undoubtedly engrossed in books and knowledge. I admired her dedication, her unwavering focus on her studies. As I sit in my favorite spot, a secluded rooftop overlooking the city, my mind wanders. The moon shines above, its pale glow casting a veil of mystery upon the streets below. I can almost taste the anticipation in the air, a brewing storm of change that threatens to engulf our lives.

I pushed myself off the wall and began to make my way home, my mind filled with thoughts of comic book characters, storylines, and the upcoming boxing match I was training for. I knew I had to keep my dreams alive, for my sake and for Sophia's. In just a few weeks, Sophia will graduate from high school, marking a significant milestone in her life. I can't help but feel a mixture of excitement and anxiety for what lies ahead. It's a dangerous and mysterious world we're stepping into—one of ancient rivalries, political intrigue, and supernatural power struggles. But if there's one thing I'm certain of, it's that I will protect my family at all costs. I won't let anyone harm them or use us for their own gain.

The world may have seen me as a dropout and a troublemaker, But being a dropout doesn't mean I'm a pushover. Far from it. I refused to let their judgments define me. I will forge my own path, fight for my passions, protect those I love, and leave my mark on the world in my own unique way.
