Chapter 1 - Welcome, Lolita

Lolita Montez stared intently at the garish yellow couch in her father's estate, a piece that seemed out of place among the antique furnishings. It was as if it had come from another dimension.

Lolita relieved herself of the yellow backpack slung around her shoulder – she unzipped the front pocket get a small notebook. She flipped through several well detailed and colorful drawings depicting various objects of her intrigue and she settled the first blank page.

She began to sketch the couch and it's surroundings. Lolita started shading the drawing in with her colored pencils and realized she was becoming engrossed in her task.

Lolita glanced at her watch – but realized she had no watch. Lolita began to feel unsettled. She knew she had the watch on her wrist

She decided she needed some fresh air, the large one story house smelled very much like an old rotted cabin that had sat alone for many years. Glass littered the ground; she didn't have to open a door to step outside.

To Lolita's disappointment the fine deserted desert estate was is disrepair. The entire wall to the living room used to be a single sheet of glass, probably shattered by curious teenagers since the property sat abandoned in the Arizona desert for so long.

Lolita walked outside to take in the sweeping view of Arizona's crimson canyon and closed her eyes and suddenly felt like she was floating. Her body vibrated, and she sensed the world turning upside down. 'What the heck is today and where is my watch?' She thought to herself. She checked her pocket and her wrist one more time. It's not there. Mom is going to kill me for losing that watch.

"Lolita?" she heard a voice behind her, "Are you okay? We have been here for a whole hour," the girl softly spoke to her, "..and you haven't said a word to me. I've been trying to give you some space, but you know. I'm still here if you need to talk."
