Alex had his gone pointed right at Sam but Sam wasn't backing down, he would be content dying if he could take Jason with him but he also knew he wasn't faster than a bullet.
If the man before him pulled the trigger, the chances of him dying were exponentially high and this wasn't something he was going to gamble on.
Sam smiled at his situation, it was quite unfortunate but he understood that where he stood may very well be where he died.
Sam looked over at Jason and saw the pathetic state he was in, he was wrong about Jason, he should never have come here to try and rescue him.
The change in his eyes wasn't a positive one but Sam was also aware that the game that he had just witnessed was designed to mess with Jason because he could have easily become a zombie if the zombie did bite him and the wounds on his body no doubt meant that they tortured him.
Sam also could tell by looking into his eyes that this wasn't the look of a defeated man.
