A flash of lightning struck through the dark sky, illuminating the surroundings for a few beats. I showed Thanatos' side profile for some seconds before it went back to being dark, and his figure was the only thing I could envision.
I blink slowly, trying to grasp everything thrown my way. "So am I in hell? Actual Hell?" I questioned, and for some reason, it sounded like a rhetorical one since he did not answer.
"But it's not hot, as portrayed to be. Appears more like- the..." I muttered the rest under my breath and at the same time, Thanatos spoke.
"That can be arranged… and fast." He seethed. He stared at me for a while with his red curious eyes for a second, interest flashing across his eyes for a minute till he looked away.
Was he going to leave me here? The thought suddenly hit me.
"Wait," I called immediately after he turned. He halts but he doesn't turn to look at me.
"Why am I here?"
"The king sent you to me."
