"Move! Move! Move!" An armed guy with a bulletproof vest and military uniform shouted while wailing his hands, guiding his fellow military soldier's companion onto a military aircraft.
As the sun rises, the loud sound of aircraft machines crosses the sky and moves toward the horizon.
"Why is this happening to us..." Said one of the crewmates inside the aircraft with a grim expression.
...
"Haha... Well... It's just the way we soldiers chose to live." Answered one of the soldiers while smoking to relieve the stress he had built up over a couple of days since the tragedy started.
They all know what happened right now is not normal. From the aircraft, they could see monsters roaming around, remains of dead bodies scattered after being mauled by them.
Everyone kept their silence. With the tense atmosphere and the beyond-bad stench coming from the ground, they continue forward, looking for groups of survivors.
They are soldiers of the country. They had to be responsible by saving as many people as possible and be prepared to die anytime.
Meanwhile, in another place...
"Congratulations, you got an Invisibility Cloak (Uncommon). Would you like to spin the roulette again?" May said to the enthusiastic-looking man.
"Of course! I still have thirteen more rolls to do!" Said Zaine as he rolled the roulette wheel again.
"Ah, this time you got a Low Regeneration Ring (Common)"
"You got the Jar of Pickled Snails (Common),"
"You got The Spoon of Mediocrity (Common),"
"You got .... (Common),"
Common
Common
Common
....
...
...
Zaine held his hand on the ground while laughing and rubbing his eyes at his nonexistent tears.
"F*ckkkkk... What is going on with my luck today? I got one uncommon, and the rest are useless common artifacts. The rates are a lie..."
Zaine condemns his luck. Perhaps it was just not his day.
The civilian there watches Zaine, pitying him, thinking he had gone insane from the tragedy that has fallen onto the world.
Suddenly the radio, seemingly unable to contact anyone, gives out a voice of hope.
"Hello, is anyone hearing this? We are from the military, and we have come to save you. If you hear this, that means that you are close by. Please give us a signal telling us where your location is."
"Hello, is anyone hearing this? We are from the military, and we have come to save you. If you hear this, that means that you are close by. Please give us a signal telling us where your location is."
The signal repeated over and over. The people inside the safe zone heard this and rushed outside the small safe zone, screaming at the top of their lungs, signaling their presence in the area.
"HELP!!!! WE ARE HERE!!!"
A firework gets lit up, producing sounds loud enough to split the sky.
"Boom.. crack"
It lit the sky with bright colors and sparkling patterns.
After a few minutes, the sound of an aircraft could be heard. Soldiers waved their hands as they descended onto the ground.
People's faces lit up, thanking god that they had been saved.
The soldiers disembark from the aircraft, greeting the people there with a smile, glad that there are still people alive, and thanking them for surviving even in this situation.
They explained that the situation is still a mystery for the government. They ensure the people's safety for now.
They explained that they found a similar place like this. As they call it, the "Safe Haven."
They informed us that the place is named Avalon, located on an island in the middle of the sea. It is considered a safe zone with no monsters being able to enter.
The capacity of the place is calculated to be around a million people, and right now, they five hundred thousand refugees there.
"The aircraft will bring the refugees there, hopefully without any trouble on the way." Declared the soldier.
Just as they are finishing up, people start gathering.
A growl could be heard from afar.
A horde of monsters come running towards the place, attracted to the sound of the commotion just a few moments ago.
The people panicked and decided to rush inside the aircraft, ordering the pilot to take off.
The soldiers used their rifles to hold back the monsters as they slowly crept their way closer and closer.
A female soldier suddenly jumps out of the aircraft and starts shooting the monsters, piercing them with magic bullets.
Zaine had seen all this happen. He instantly knew that the female soldier also had received a class.
"A sharpshooter?" Zaine mumbled to himself.
"Well makes sense that a soldier that wields a gun is good with their aim."
The female soldier can hold back the horde by herself, defeating a chunk of it and making them flee.
As the monster disperses, she comes to Zaine stomping her feet while walking.
"How do you know about my class?!" The girl whispers to Zaine as she clutches her hand towards Zaine's shirt.
"Uhh, I am sorry. Uhh, I just had a feeling. I promise I won't tell anyone" Zaine put his hands up, asking for mercy.
"Ugh... Fine, if you dare tell anyone, you're dead." The girl released her grip on Zaine's shirt and went back toward the aircraft.
Zaine thinks about what he'll do now, come with them and limit the resources, or stay in the safe zone until something happen. He decided to stay there longer.
Zaine has never been able to socialize with others well, so he wore his invisibility cloak, erasing his presence from the people there.
He watches as the aircraft lifts to the sky, taking the refugees with them as they leave without a trace.
