The old-looking person comes closer to Zaine and sits on a chair, smiling towards Zaine.
"How have you been? Do you feel any discomfort?"
"No, everything seems fine. I'm only a bit tired from sleeping too much." Answers Zaine with a nervous look on his face.
"I checked your conditions the other day, and you suffered from mana exhaustion." The doctor explained.
He paused a bit before continuing his explanation.
"This sickness is dangerous for us humans. You are lucky this time, but further repetition of this sickness can cause major problems."
The doctor continues. "Our mana is similar to our blood circulation. The use of it is what makes us able to do magic. If the mana reaches 0, there are times when our mana could be cut off and disappear entirely from your body."
"So please, in the future, keep in check the amount of mana you have. If this happens again, we won't know what will happen to you." Explained the doctor.
Zaine nodded to the doctor, thanking him for the treatment he provided.
"I will be taking my leave now. You can also leave whenever you feel fit enough." Explained the doctor.
Zaine thinks about the mana running in his body. About the dangers of summoning unknown monsters like the Origin type. Shivers down his spine as he thought about the experience from before.
Zaine believes that the Origin monster possesses tremendous strength that is unknown even to him. He decided not to summon it unless he faced any life-threatening danger and in the verge of defeat.
Zaine decided that he had enough rest and decided to leave the clinic together with Amy.
They went to the Adventurer's Guild and met with the receptionist there.
"Hello there, adventurers. Welcome to the Adventurer's Guild." Greeted the receptionist to both Zaine and Amy.
The guild had heard about the disaster and thought he had failed the mission.
"We have done the quest three days ago, the one for the Giant Ant." Said Zaine.
The receptionist thought Zaine wanted to adventure again, "You can do it tomorrow. I know that you just recovered. No need to force yourself."
Confused by the receptionist, Zaine took the Giant Ant's head from his magical bag.
"Here is the proof, so can I get my reward now?" Ask Zaine while continuously putting up more and more on the floor of the Adventurer's Guild.
A mountain of heads piled up in front of the receptionist's table. The receptionist was astonished by the amount that Zaine managed to acquire.
He counted the heads. A total of about 50 Giant Ants and the receptionist handed five gold coins to Zaine as a reward.
"Thank you for your patronage." Cheered the receptionist while still a bit shaken up.
"Oh yea, Zaine, you are level 50 now. Can you take the Ant Queen quest?" Amy demanded Zaine take up the quest
The receptionist heard their conversation.
"You guys interested in the Ant Queen? Well, I must tell you, it said level 50 is required, but it does not mean that you can do it with only two members. The Ant Queen is known to be very dangerous, so you must prepare a lot to try and face off against it."
While the receptionist was talking to them, Amy brought up the Ant Queen head from her magic bag, making the receptionist freeze in his place and eyes wide open.
"Y-you, you killed it?!" He shouted while stepping back for some reason.
"Oh! Did you collect the head of it? Good job!" Commend Zaine.
The receptionist, ashamed, after telling the facts about the Giant Ant Queen, hides his face in shame while rewarding Zaine for defeating the Queen.
After confirming the head belongs to the Giant Ant Queen, Zaine and Amy then leave the Adventurer's Guild. They went outside to discuss their approach for the coming days.
They had sufficient money to buy provisions, so they went around the village, searching for whatever things might be helpful for them in the future.
They came across a market on the outskirts of the village and decided to explore it together.
The atmosphere there is very vibrant. People, vendors, and adventurers gather there after they finish their quests.
They walk through the market and come across a traveling merchant, a flashy-dressed merchant selling various items spread around the floor, varying from potions to equipment.
The items piqued Zaine's interest, and he started talking to the vendor.
"Welcome. What might you be interested in today?" The sound of a guy with a deep voice greets Zaine and Amy.
Zaine looked at the options available, which the person explained.
"Are you interested in the potions? The red is a health potion, the blue is a mana potion, and the yellow is a special resistance potion." Explained the guy.
"Ooh! A resistance potion, you don't see potions like that often. Can you tell me the effects of it?" Ask Zaine.
"It gives you 80% damage resistance to all physical and magical damage lasting 5 seconds."
"Items like that are too good to be true," Zaine mumbles.
Not believing that the items are genuine, Zaine challenges the hooded person.
"Can you prove that it is real?"
"Sure, watch this."
The man drank the potion and revealed his hand and a dagger in another, stabbing his other hand.
The arm got injured, but the cut is very shallow.
While he was doing the attraction, a crowd noticed his stunts, proving his potions the real deal.
"How much are the potions?" Ask Zaine curiously.
The man smirked.
"Health and mana potions are five copper coins, and resistance is three silver coins."
Zaine wasn't convinced that the potions were genuine and bought one first. He consumed the resistance potion and drank the whole vial.
He could feel his body strengthening. He borrowed the knife from the merchant and cut himself, revealing that the cut did not make him bleed.
Zaine is now convinced that the potion is a real deal, but he thinks the prices are still a bit too expensive, so he decides to bargain.
"I'll take 100 mana and ten resistance for six gold coins. how does that sound?" Zaine bargains with the man.
After pausing for a bit, he nodded and agreed with Zaine.
Zaine and Amy continue exploring the market, buying provisions and clothes for whatever awaits them.
A few hours passed in a blink of an eye, and with dusk just on the corner, they decided it was time to rest for their last night in the inn.
The journey to the village was fascinating. They met and defeated enemies and got provisions for the upcoming journey ahead.
They both decided to leave tomorrow morning to continue their journey toward Avalon.
