Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: To Avalon

Amy had never explored the outside world, so this was new. Zaine decided to tell her all about the events that had been happening, the current world situation, and the tragedy that just happened just a few days ago.

Amy, hearing this story from Zaine, startled her. But not as surprised as Zaine would think she would be.

"So you got teleported into another place, and when you were back, the world was already different?" Ask Amy.

"Pretty much, yes." Replied Zaine.

"And the only way to possibly revert the destruction is by defeating all the monsters and making them extinct?"

"Yes... I think." Zaine nodded to Amy. "It is just like that."

Zaine did not mention the part where he logged in to HHL that day. Where the world merged with the game, resulting in the monsters appearing.

Night time comes. Zaine commanded his Ents to build two shelters for Zaine and Amy, making it somewhat safe for them to sleep for the night.

On the makeshift wooden tent, Zaine looked up at the sky.

He wonders about Avalon, the haven for people and refugees to live. The place there must be nice there.

He imagined a fantasy-type city. With a touch of human technologies, electricity poles stood high above the ground, with mountainous terrain and beautiful scenery. He got excited thinking about it.

Zaine is now eager to go there. He tries to remember the army aircraft and think about where it went. Just as then, Zaine slowly closed his eyes and drifted to sleep.

"Kyuu kyuu... tap tap.." Zaine felt light touching his face, a familiar feeling as Albus woke him up from sleep.

"Yawn... Good morning Albus..." Zaine woke up and sat on the shelter.

He checks up on Amy.

"Good morning Amy. Are you up yet?" Zaine approaches Amy's shelter, looking for her.

But she is not there?! Zaine looked around the place, panicking. He went out of the shelter and down the tree where the Ent had built and ran around while searching for her.

"KYUU KYUU!" Zaine took notice of Albus. It seems it knows where Amy is and wants Zaine to follow him.

After following for a while, he can hear the sound of water and notices a waterfall not far from him. He then ran towards it when he saw a figure taking a bath there.

His curiosity peaked as he took a closer look at the figure, trying to figure out who was there.

A blue-haired female. With a smooth and flawless white skin tone. It reflects the light in a way that creates the effect where reflected light is white.

It was Amy. She had told Zaine that she always had a habit of bathing every morning, so she went up early in search of a spot. She stumbled upon this waterfall and decided to hop in.

He soon realized what he was doing. Zaine did not mean to be a creep. He decides to go back after knowing that Amy is safe and sound.

Just then, Amy noticed movements of the bush as she was finishing up.

"Who's there?!" Amy shouted at the bush while covering her body.

"It's me, Zaine. I am very sorry. I did not mean to peep." Zaine stood up, his voice stuttering with his hands in the air, his eyes closed shut, and his body turned back.

"Ah, Zaine!" She covered herself with both hands and dipped herself back into the water.

"D-did you see?"

"What was that?!" Zaine shouted as he could not hear what she was saying.

"DID YOU SEE!?!" With a beet-red face, Amy shouted in embarrassment.

"Umm.. uhh.. uhm... I don't think so, but, uh... I am very sorry." Zaine nervously answered with his body turned around and eyes shut.

"I uhh... I am going to go back now. You can take your time there. I'm sorry for bothering you. I will be waiting at the shelter." Zaine's voice was shaky, and he walked to get farther back from the waterfall while closing his eyes.

"Ahh... how could this happen. I did not mean to peep at her like that." Zaine talks to himself, but he can not pretend that he did not see and admire her figure.

Zaine arrives back at his shelter. He sits down and gets cozy as he waits for Amy to return.

A few minutes went by, and he saw Amy returning to the place. Her face is still a bit flustered from the accident that happened before.

"Umm, Amy... I am sorry." Zaine offers Amy a sincere apology. Only to be ignored by Amy.

"Hmph!" She averts her gaze away from Zaine while pouting.

"So Amy... Do you remember the story about the refugee who got carried by the aircraft I told you yesterday?" Zaine tried to change the subject as he saw Amy did not want to talk to him.

"The one where they are heading to Avalon." Said Zaine.

Amy's interest was piqued as she heard the place, Avalon. She began listening to Zaine without saying anything.

"I think I remember them going that way. It must be the way where the place is located, so for now, I think we should walk straight there and hope that we can get closer to Avalon," Zaine explained his plan to Amy, hoping she would follow them.

Amy did not answer, but her gesture agreed. She went up to the Ent's shoulders, commanding it to move towards the place Zaine pointed at.

And off they go, to Avalon.
