MARIA'S POV
Stopping for a while to find my breath. I have been on the run, nonstop, just so I would get to school on time. And I made it. Panting heavily, A car drove pass me and I instantly got drawn to it. It was thanks to that car and whoever was in that it, I got in. Because the security had to wait for them to enter before they closed the gate which was also to my advantage. So, thank you. Whoever you are.
I walked the school hall to my locker. I needed to do a quick arrangement since I didn't get the chance to do it Yesterday. I was still at it when I got interrupted '' Hey you!! '' A female voice snapped irritatedly, I moved my locker door to see who it was. Before me, were three sassy-looking girls. They had their hair dyed, in different colours and wore heavy make-up
'' Hey?'' I replied, a bit confused as to why they were here. Are they bullies as well, were they also here for trouble? They should know that I do not have time for them. I got to get to class.
'' You are the hard ass aren't you?'' the one on the side asked. At first, I didn't get what they were saying until it hit me. The name I was given yesterday. I can't believe that video went viral. Are these students that jobless? I guess they are also upset about the video
'' what do you what ?'' I went straight to business.
'' We don't like you '' the middle one said out loud
'' the feeling is mutual '' I replied honestly, this made them frown. They should know that they are not the only ones with hurtful words
''she really does have a sharp tongue '' the one on the left spoke with an irritated tone
'' Look '' the middle one continued '' we don't like you. But '' she steps closer, very close '' we are on your side '' she whispered so low, scared that anyone would hear
'' side on what?'' confused. What the fuck were they talking about
'' We never liked Cassandra. Always acts on top of the world. Good thing Logan brock up with her '' she continues to whisper'' But this doesn't make us friends. You are so not our class '' She stepped back, away from me. Give me a full glance '' At least get a good shoe. This is so worn out ''
'' thank you for the not need advice... I got to go '' with that I walked past them and from behind them I heard one shout
'' good luck '' but I didn't respond. The girls were probably crazy or something. I hurried to class. The moment I stepped in. the class went silent. It didn't surprise me. I am sure I will get this stare till the day I graduate from this school. Walking to my seat, from the corner of my eyes I spotted Logan and his friend. I thought he never attends classes. I did my best not to look their way and went to take a seat beside my sleeping seatmate. Me wondering why he was today again. Does he have a night job or something? I set my Bag to the side intending to wait for our classroom teacher
'' Hey Maria '' I got interrupted by that deep manly voice. Once again I had no idea when he woke up from sleep. This movement is so silent
'' Hey Gorge '' feeling awkward '' how are you? ''
'' Great, always.... what about you are you doing? ''
'' I'm good '' I smiled. This was the first time someone in school asked me how I am doing in the morning. The feeling is wonderful '' I am fine '' I could not stop myself from smiling.
'' So. You left yesterday without waking me up '' he frowns and my eyes fell wide open
'' oh my God, I am so sorry, I didn't know what to do yesterday so I just left thinking you were.... ''
'' I am just joking '' she cut me off with a smile. '' My driver usually calls me when he arrives. If he doesn't call, I sleep '' he explained
'' Oh.. that is nice '' My eye fell on his hair which was packed in a ponytail. I noticed some kind of leaf in it.
'' You got something....hmm... on your hair '' pointing to his hair, not knowing if I should remove it or let him do it.
'' What?'' using his hand to reach for what is in his hair '' Where...? '' messing up his hair. I smiled at him
'' Wait, wait '' I reached out to pick out the leaf and Damn, his hair smells wonderful, I wonder what shampoo he uses. Even if I knew, it will probably be very expensive.
'' thanks '' Looking at the leaf, he collected it from me and threw it out the window while I watched him quietly. Damn, he is an attractive guy. '' So '' he began with eyes on me '' Hard ass ha ''
'' please don't call me that '' I rolled my eyes '' I don't get why students are so into a video of my introducing myself''
'' Introducing?'' confusion flashed in his eyes '' This is another video '' he said
'' What do you mean another video '' confused by his words
'' I guess you haven't seen it '' I watched him reach for his pocket and brought out his phone. The strolled on it several times looking for the video '' Oh, here it is '' placing the phone on the table next to me. I leaned closer, only for me to notice it was the video from yesterday. I thought Logan would take down the video since it embarrassed them but I guess not. It was a clip from when I asked for my money. And some anonymous person posted it and commented ' The kings finally found their match. This is going to be a crazy ride. Don't you all agree' then a laughing emoji next to it
'' what the fuck '' shocked '' Who did this?'
'' no one knows'' he shrugged '' and the entire school viewed and liked it. They are all in to see how this would end ''
'' what will end? '' looking around '' why are you making it sound like we are in some kind of movie '' I whispered
'' not a movie. A TV show. The war between the kings and a nobody... Sorry, no offence'' He apologized for calling me a nobody
''non-taken'' replied '' Look, I just want to go to school and graduate. I am not interested in this crazy ride ok '' in a low tone '' why would someone do this '' my eyes fell on the phone again, wondering to myself. Why would one do this? Does this person have a beef with me or something?
'' in this school. One does not always get the chance to decide. They put you in a tight spot and watch you try to get out. They derive pleasure from it. ''
'' so you are saying that someone posted this and made me appear like a threat to the so call kings just to watch me struggle and have fun with things'' the thought was unbelievable '' are you guys all crazy ''
'' or '' he leans closer '' It could be that they are fed up with the Kings and wants to use you to bring them down '' he whispered.
'' that is..... '' Not getting a chance to finish my words. I got interrupted by Miss Valentine.
'' All right... settle down class ''
'' see you in the nearest future '' Gorge said and drove off to his sleep ''
'' I will call the attendance first '' she announced '' Before that. Is Bianca back '' the class didn't respond. Hearing the name, I then remembered she was in the top 2 in the department. How comes I didn't see her yesterday nor did Miss Valentine ask of her? Was she sick '' she is not?.... I guess I will.... ''
'' I am right here '' a pretty voice interrupted. She came in through the back door. A girl with beautiful black hair, nicely done, about 5 feet 11, A body of a model, her glacial electric blue eyes reminded me of Logan. Wait were they siblings? No wonder she stood with so much confidence and grace. She looked breathtaking in her uniform.
'' You are back '' Miss Valentine smiled '' Welcome back '' With just a small smile she went to take her seat next to Logan, they had to be siblings.
'' Logan Van Richard and Bianca Richard '' Yes, why didn't I think of it '' they are Siblings '' I whispered to myself
'' Twins, to be exact '' someone suddenly whispered to my ear and I flinch In shock. It was Gorge '' sorry '' he smile '' I forgot '' with that. He went back to sleep. I ignored him. And turn to look at Logan and his group. They would surely not let me have peace after this video. Whatever. I would survive
