The night passed smoothly, with Kevin not getting the chance to do anything more with Emma beyond feeling her body as they talked. Cause Emma soon fell asleep, leaving Kevin to cuddle with Riya while she hugged Maria, all three looking peaceful in their slumber.
On Emma's side, her daughter snuggled comfortably in her embrace as the sounds of morning began to seep into their tent. The gentle rustling of people moving about, mixed with the chirping of birds and the crisp morning air, soon woke Maria. She looked at her two children sleeping peacefully and smiled, caressing Riya's face and whispering softly, "Riya... wake up, and wake your brother too."
