All, that is, except for Claud, whose eyes sparkled with a mischievous light that seemed out of place in the gloomy breakfast.
Astri's voice, clear and melodious, cut through the quiet. "What is with those long faces?" she inquired, her head tilting in curiosity.
"They're just envious." Claud answers.
"Why?" Astri pressed, a playful smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.
"The dress," Lee chimed in, his voice a low rumble. "He could remove it from you."
Astri's chuckle resonated in the hall, light and carefree. "Oh, is that the reason?" She leaned back in her chair, her eyes twinkling. "You all can remove it."
The sound of water being sputtered and coughed up filled the room as her spouses choked on their drinks, their eyes wide as they stared at her in disbelief.
