Chapter 54 - Chapter-54

Sin, Eric, and Gerald decided to attend the tournament as a group this time around due to the unique nature of the preliminary round, which sets it apart from the previous one they attended.

Eric inquired of Sin whether they had reached out to anyone else to join them as participants, as they still needed two more people.

According to Eric, the second preliminary round of this League 4 stage functions on a team-based format, where a total of five individuals can actively participate within a single team. In order to accommodate the immense number of participants, the competition is expected to have over a thousand teams enrolled. However, only a fraction of these teams, specifically 100, will successfully advance to the next stage referred to as the League 3.

There is a total of 100 Cores, with each Core hosting a battle between 10 teams. Only the team that emerges victorious in the final battle will be granted the opportunity to advance to League 3. At first glance, this may appear to be an unfair arrangement as the tournament ultimately revolves around individual performance on the grand stage. Consequently, it becomes disheartening for participants who may experience failure not due to their own shortcomings, but rather due to their team's strength.

Nonetheless, individuals must come to terms with the fact that this is an unavoidable reality. as in the event of a war, they are required to unite and function as a cohesive unit. If their team were to suffer defeat in such a conflict, it would inevitably imply personal defeat as well. Consequently, it becomes paramount for each individual to contribute something extraordinary in order to elevate their team to greatness.

Sin responded to Eric's inquiry, stating that he had already established communication with two individuals who were willing to join them. Assuring Eric, Sin mentioned that their arrival was imminent and they would be joining them shortly.

As his gaze shifted towards a specific direction, he couldn't help but utter the phrase "oh speak of the devil." Intrigued by his sudden exclamation, the entire group turned their attention towards the same direction as Sin. To their astonishment, they witnessed the graceful approach of an individual who appeared to be of a similar age to Sin.

The individual in question goes by the name of Wesley Oliver. He had initially been approached by his uncle, Eco Oliver, who acted as a middleman in their communication. Surprisingly, Wesley Oliver agreed to join their cause without imposing any conditions or demands, leaving Sin taken aback by his willingness to participate.

Coming here, Wesley held out his hand to Sin while saying "We've met again, prince."

Upon hearing Wesley refer to him as a prince, Sin's mouth involuntarily twitched, betraying a hint of irritation. Nevertheless, he extended his hand in a gesture of politeness and reciprocated the greeting, expressing his pleasure in meeting Wesley as well. However, Sin subtly hinted that he would rather be addressed by his actual name, emphasizing that he did not consider himself to be of royalty.

Wesley's smile stretched across his face as his eyes gently closed, which was also smiling, a smile mirrored in their slumber. Sin couldn't help but perceive his facial expression as the embodiment of a handsome true villain. Yet, rumors had reached his ears about this enigmatic man's lineage, tracing back to the prestigious Viscount Wesley family. Intrigued by the prospect of his potential, Sin found himself contemplating the possibility of recruiting him into his team. However, Sin's firmly believes that in each group one bad boy needed or the game won't be that fun.

Wesley inquired if there was another individual who had not yet arrived. Sin responded by assuring him that this person would be joining them shortly.

After a brief period of anticipation, they were finally introduced to the last individuals who would be joining their group. She was a young lady who caught their attention with her slightly plump figure. Her name was Niu, and she stood out amongst the crowd with her unique attire, donning a charming maid's dress.

In a humbled tone, she extended her sincere apologies to Sin, respectfully referring him as her master. She candidly confessed that she had regrettably forgotten the exact path leading to their current destination, resulting in the delay she had caused.

Sin reassured her not to fret, assuring her that he would bring her along on their next outing. In a welcoming gesture, he proceeded to introduce her to each individual present. Identifying her as Niu, he divulged that she held a position within their household as a valued member of the battle maid team.

Niu possesses an extraordinary prowess in combat, showcasing exceptional skill as a fighter. Additionally, she possesses a unique and remarkable healing capability, further adding to her impressive repertoire of abilities. However, what truly sets her apart is her astonishingly high level compare to her age surpassing that of many others in her field, particularly at an impressive level 29.

Despite being as old as Sin, she had never participated in this tournament before. The primary cause for her lack of interest had always held her back. However, for some inexplicable reason, she suddenly found herself compelled to take part in the tournament this time around.

Sin considered the idea of selecting an individual from his family's pool of employees, as he believed it would provide him with a sense of convenience and authority, allowing him to easily give orders if the situation called for it.

Upon his first encounter with his team, Sin takes the opportunity to assess each member's capabilities. Gerald, boasting a formidable level 16, displays his versatility by possessing proficiency in a wide array of magical spells. Notably, Wesley stands a few levels above at 24, showcasing his advanced prowess in combat. Adding an unexpected twist to the group dynamic, Niu, originally a maid by profession, has undergone extensive training to transform into a lethal force compared to her age, specializing in the art of swords. And last but certainly not least, Eric emerges as the team's secret weapon, a trump card whose unique abilities hold the potential to turn the tide in their favor when the situation demands it.

He believed that he might have assembled a team that was overly powerful. However, he justified this by reminding himself that it was all in pursuit of achieving victory.
