The next day
"Great job! Now, try to manipulate your energy to the other arm."
Ammar looked at his arm that was covered with his Mystic Energy and directed it to his left arm. He smiled at Mikhail and received a thumbs up.
"You are pretty fast learner about this stuff, but when it comes to study…"
"Oh, come on!! You really love to ruin my moment!!" Ammar said to Mikhail who laughed. "Hey, how come your energy took the appearance of flame while mine smoked?"
Mikhail replied, "Relax, it takes time for you to reach that level. You successfully unlocked your energy yesterday and controlled it today. That is already a big achievement."
"I know about that… It just I want to be powerful as soon as possible to help you, you know?" Ammar said with a sad expression, making Mikhail look at him. "Besides, I'm pretty sure that woman will return one day."
"Don't worry about her. For now, you need to focus on yourself. I am going to meet Shizuka to discuss important matters. You continue manipulating your energy and when I come back, I want to see you destroy that wooden dummy. That wooden dummy will only receive damage if you hit it with Mystic Energy," Mikhail pointed at a wooden dummy behind him. "Anything happens, just text or call me immediately."
Ammar nodded his head and immediately went to the wooden dummy, punching it with his fists that reinforced with Mystic Energy. He was unaware that Mikhail was watching him with his Kamigan.
From Mikhail's point of view, he saw a shadowy figure with glowing crimson eyes behind Ammar. The shadow figure noticed Mikhail and growled at him only for the wielder of the Kamigan to destroy it with a glance.
'That should do it.' Mikhail thought before covering his right eye and left the dojo, leaving Ammar punching the wooden dummy.
After changing his training attire into streetwear attire which consisted of an oversized dark hoodie with light blue ripped jeans and a pair of high-cut white sneakers. Mikhail left the house and greeted Mizuki who had just arrived at the gate.
"Mika? Where are you going?" asked Mizuki as she removed her coat and gave it to her bodyguard.
"Out." Mikhail replied with the intention of not continuing the conversation.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you. Mother will be arriving here tomorrow and… she knew about your survival. I was hoping you could meet her and spend some time? Just for a while." Mizuki said with a small smile, hoping Mikhail will accept her request.
"No."
Mizuki nodded her head sadly and watched her younger brother leave the clan house, heading to an unknown destination. Not too long after, Mikhail saw Shizuka smoking while leaning against the wall with a smoking prohibited sign on it.
Shizuka was wearing a denim jacket with a white t-shirt underneath it, black skinny jeans, and a pair of white shoes.
"Are you blind or ignorant?" Mikhail pointed at the prohibited sign, causing Shizuka to scoff and throw away her unfinished cigarette. "Hey, you look… pretty."
Shizuka blushed and quickly turned around, cursing Mikhail mentally. She took a deep breath and turned around although she looked away and replied to the compliment.
"You look… quite handsome."
Mikhail just looked at Shizuka with a blush and quickly hid it by clearing his throat. Shizuka scoffed but smiled and together they walked.
"So, where are you going to bring me?" asked Mikhail to Shizuka while rubbing his chin.
"I don't know. How about we just go to Shinjuku and decide later?" Shizuka looked at Mikhail who nodded. "How is it going with your family? I heard that your mother is coming tomorrow."
"I don't want to talk about it," Mikhail replied coldly. "Oh yeah, I just remembered something. Where are your parents?"
Shizuka frowned which Mikhail saw and then she answered the question, "My old man died after six days of enduring the injuries that Lucifer inflicted on him. Four months after that, my mother passed away in her sleep. My biggest regret is not spending much time with them, especially my mother."
"Oh… I… I'm so sorry, Shizuka."
Shizuka only smiled and then continued, "That's why I was hoping that at least you reconciled with your family since you still have them. I'm pretty sure Amaris wanted the same thing. I don't want you to feel the same feeling I once felt when both my parents were gone."
They continued heading to Shinjuku without saying anything. After arriving at Shinjuku through the train station, the two former enemies continued their journey. Suddenly, Mikhail stopped, which alerted Shizuka.
"What's wrong?"
Rubbing the bridge of his nose, Mikhail replied with a small smile, "Nothing. It's just that I'm hungry."
The two of them spent their time eating at a fancy restaurant where Mikhail complained about their overpriced and bland foods, shopping malls in which Shizuka bought a lot of clothes and placed them inside a scroll, grabbing yakitori, seeing free art in Nishi Shinjuku, and lastly going to a festival market at Hanazono Shrine.
"I know that I don't know a single thing about our culture. But do I have to learn about this?" asked Mikhail as he was eating the last stick of wagyu beef.
"Idiot, of course you need to learn it! You are a Japanese idiot." Shizuka rolled her eyes at Mikhail's laughter.
"Wasn't expecting that answer, but never mind. Anyways, where are we going after this?" asked Mikhail to Shizuka, causing her to rub her chin and think of their next destination. "As long as that place has somewhere where I can lay and watch the sky then it's fine."
"How about we watch the sunset?"
Mikhail smiled and gave a thumbs up, causing Shizuka to chuckle. The Katagiri then continued to explain about the cultures, mythology, and others which Mikhail absorbed all the new information like a sponge.
As they were walking, suddenly a bus was thrown and hit Mikhail, sending him flying several meters away and crashing into a building, resulting in an explosion. Everyone ran away while Shizuka turned around and dashed towards Mikhail's location, but someone blocked her.
"!!"
Standing several feet away from her with piles of dead bodies was a woman with a wolf-cut pastel pink haircut that was dark at the tip. Her dark pink eyes glanced at Shizuka as she tightened her grip around the handle of her unique weapon.
It is a pitch-black-bladed dagger with a glowing pink outline and mantra engraved on the surface of the six inch blade. The hilt is hexagonal-shaped and painted in a golden, dark handle with chains attached to it and wrapped around her forearm.
She wore a sleeveless pink qipao with a thin black outline, a black pauldron that had dark rose ornaments, fish net stockings, and a pair of high-heel shoes. In addition, she wears a leather choker with pink rose in the middle, thigh belts, and leather arm sleeves that reach her elbow.
"Rae Elizabeth…" Shizuka whispered her name with a venomous tone.
The woman, identified as Rae, said nothing and formed a hand sign, summoning a horde of zombified hyenas. The creatures growled at Shizuka who responded by raising her arms that had coat with thick dark steel.
Immediately, the zombified hyenas lunged at Shizuka. Rae then walked in the direction where Mikhail was while spinning her weapon. Then, Rae threw her weapon and in one swift motion, she destroyed the building where Mikhail crashed into.
When the dust settled, Rae found out that there wasn't Mikhail. She turned around and immediately received a kick to her face. After recovering from the attack, Rae stared at Mikhail who discarded his torn hoodie, leaving his black t-shirt behind.
"Who are you?" asked Mikhail while unwrapping the bandages, revealing his Kamigan. 'Judging from her energy, she must be some kind of a powerful Demon and I sense faint of Lilith's energy.'
"Mika… It's been a while since we last met."
Mikhail narrowed his eyes at Rae when she called him by his nickname. The only enemy who called him by his nickname was Lilith. So, who is this enemy? He also sensed Shizuka was in trouble and attempted to assist her, but Rae stopped him by swinging her weapon.
"You are fighting me, Mika."
Rae created a barrier that trapped Mikhail and her inside, indicating that there is no way to escape except fighting her. Mikhail looked at the barrier and a smile formed on his face.
"Something's funny?" asked Rae.
"Oh no, I'm just glad that you put up this barrier. That means I can fight you without holding back," Mikhail replied with a smirk. "Besides, I've been training secretly since I fought Irina. I didn't expect that the day where I fight a Demon would come so soon."
"So, promise me that you won't cry and run to your parents."
Rae gritted her teeth behind her mask and lunged forward at Mikhail who smirked.
