Under the night sky, amidst the howling cold winds of the far northern ice plains, a true dragon sped through the blizzard, wings shaking powerfully.
The strong dragon wings flapped vigorously, covering the sky and blocking out the already dim moonlight. The wild winds they stirred up twirled the blizzard around them, keeping the fluffy, heavy snow at bay.
A giant dragon racing through a blizzard is not a common sight.
However, what made all the creatures of the northern ice plains even more terrified and respectful was the fact that there wasn't just one true dragon in the sky.
There were three massive true dragons, each exuding a terrifying dragon's aura, leaving three long trails in the blizzard. The falling snow parted in fear before them and slowly closed up again behind them.
After flying for a while, the three massive true dragons paused their flight, settling under a night sky where the moon and stars were faintly visible.
The weather here was still decent; the blizzard hadn't swallowed up this area, and only a few snowflakes drifted through the air.
Below was a vast forest stretching for tens of kilometers, made up of cold-resistant fir and pine trees that formed its bulk, a lush green adding splashes of color to the endless white world.
Such forests, known as cold taiga, were not uncommon in the northern ice plains and were home to many of the lower-tier creatures of the plains, offering rich biological and plant resources.
However, in terms of the grandeur and awe they inspired, these ordinary trees, no more than a dozen meters high, could not compare to the territory of the Wolheart clan they had seen before, with its Snow Ridge Pine Forest. Those Snow Ridge trees were like giants among trees, impressively tall at over a hundred meters.
"This is the place."
"That guy arrived in this cold taiga a month ago and made it his territory."
"This bothers me."
The crystal dragon, its semi-transparent scales reflecting the dazzling moonlight, looked down and spoke to Garon.
Garon looked down, his enhanced vision working with his detection magic like radar, scanning the taiga inch by inch.
Soon, a huge outline shrouded in elemental aura appeared in his vision.
Garon couldn't see the creature's appearance since it was hidden underground, but from the serpent-like outline formed by the elemental aura alone, he could infer that the creature was more massive than several giant true dragons combined.
If it emerged, the surrounding trees would seem very small compared to it.
"It seems you've found its lair."
The silver dragon, as if made of metal, calmly followed Garon's gaze.
Garon nodded, saying, "Yes, I didn't expect to encounter such a rare creature here."
Nicole groaned lightly, "My territory is nearby. There's no room here for two true dragons. No, such a monster doesn't deserve to be called a dragon."
"The three of us can definitely drive it away."
Luna looked down at the silent taiga and said, "Let's drive it out from underground first."
After saying this, she looked at Garon.
Garon, a master of sculpting spells, was undoubtedly the best candidate to strike first.
"Let me do it," Garon said with a light laugh.
He took a deep breath, produced his Red Flame Staff, and his expression instantly became focused and solemn.
With a deep and mysterious chant, magical power surged within him, and the fire elements in the surrounding space responded to his call, gathering in large numbers. The night subtly took on a shade of crimson.
A dark red magma ball, radiating dangerous and glaring dim light, quickly formed in front of Garon.
Nicole and Luna, feeling the immense heat contained within, involuntarily stepped back a few meters.
Both the silver dragon and the crystal dragon, species that preferred cold and feared fire, wouldn't have chosen to live in the northern ice plains otherwise.
Once the spell was fully constructed, Garon, holding the small Red Flame Staff, firmly locked onto his target with his willpower. Then, with a thought, he acted.
Whoosh!
The magma fireball, with its faintly glowing dark red trail, streaked across the sky, plummeting towards the ground at high speed.
In an instant, the not-so-large magma fireball touched a seemingly ordinary clearing in the forest and sank into the ground.
Boom!
Like an earth dragon turning over, a series of dull, thunderous noises erupted.
Large fissures spread across the ground, filled with magical magma. The hot and dry air spread all around, igniting the needle trees within range into bright torches, which quickly turned to ash in the crisscrossing streams of magma.
The surrounding sky brightened considerably due to the flames and magma.
"Wow!"
Nicole's eyes sparkled as she looked down at the commotion and light produced by the magma fireball.
"Sculpting spells are indeed the
most spectacular."
The brilliance of the sculpting school of magic was always very bright.
"I'll add some fire for you," said the crystal dragon, bathing in moonlight and radiating dazzling light, employing a similar magical ability.
Elemental energy swirled around her like sprites, and under Nicole's control, a raging tornado formed from the air elements below.
The tornado rose from the ground, spinning rapidly, carrying the surrounding magma and flames. It formed a hundred-meter-high fire tornado, with a terrifying and awe-inspiring presence, sparks flying as wind and fire mingled.
Creatures within several kilometers were frightened, watching the fire tornado with stiff limbs, silent as cicadas.
Garon's helmet reflected the light of the fire as he turned to Nicole, noticing her focus was absorbed in the tornado below.
Under Nicole's precise control, the tornado carried the flames and magma without causing indiscriminate destruction, concentrating on that patch of land, continuously sinking into the ground.
True dragons, once mature, were excellent in magical talent. Nicole's first collaboration with Garon had produced impressive results.
Meanwhile, Luna's gaze sharpened, and she warned in a voice as melodious as flowing water, "Be careful, it's coming out!"
As she spoke, Nicole and Garon heard a rough, fierce, and irritable roar emanating from beneath the land ravaged by the fire tornado.
Roar!
A tangible ferocity surged into the sky, aimed directly at the three massive true dragons in the air.
If it were any other creature, their bodies would be rigid, barely able to fly, but for dragons like Garon, although the dragon's aura was strong, its actual impact was minimal.
The next second, the ground trembled violently, layers of earth cracked open, and soil and stones rolled like waves, revealing a dark green colossal figure beneath.
In the blink of an eye, the dark green figure, like a beast breaking free from its shackles, moved away from the fire tornado's ravaged area. With a single movement, it toppled a swath of trees, stirring a foul wind.
It crouched low, its fierce eyes staring up at the three true dragons.
