Chapter 63 - Chapter 63: The Dragons Around

"I know the Red Flame Staff holds secrets, and since you won't reveal them, I won't ask further, but I also will not hand it over to you."

On the other side, upon hearing Garon's somewhat cold words, Luna was visibly troubled, her fingers twirling her golden hair.

It was clear that she very much desired Morton's relics.

After a few seconds of thought, she spoke, "Then could you give me Morton's notes? I will offer you something worth more than the notes."

"They are just plain notes."

Fearing further refusal from Garon, she continued, "Besides, I promise to assist you once, as long as it is for a cause of goodness and justice."

Garon frowned slightly, displeased, "I have made it very clear, no matter what conditions you offer, I will not agree."

Although Garon had memorized the content of Morton's notes and they were of no use to him, he felt that due to the oddity of the Red Flame Staff, the notes might also contain hidden aspects that he had yet to discover.

At the same time, Luna sighed, making one last tentative offer, "Won't you reconsider? I am willing to exchange a Dragon Soul Stone for them."

Garon snorted lightly, steadfastly stating, "I will not."

Before he could finish speaking, his voice paused, and he exclaimed in surprise, "Dragon Soul Stone? You have a Dragon Soul Stone?"

Garon's reaction was understandable given that a Dragon Soul Stone is a very rare and special stone.

Near the nests of ancient dragons, under the influence of their breath, combined with miraculous evolution, there is a very small chance of a Dragon Soul Stone forming.

Ordinary true dragons have a finite lifespan, typically dying around eight hundred years old at the very old age stage.

Only those who transcend the boundaries of life and death to become ancient dragons extend their lives, earning the full respect of even rival true dragons.

True dragons beyond the ancient stage are the most feared entities, exceedingly rare.

Dragon Soul Stones can only potentially form in the nests of ancient dragons, and given such stringent conditions, their effects are extraordinarily powerful.

A Dragon Soul Stone can significantly enhance a true dragon's evolutionary sleep, making one sleep's benefits equal to two or three normal sleeps, making it a rare treasure for true dragons, especially the younger ones, significantly shortening their growth period.

Seeing Garon's interest in the Dragon Soul Stone, Luna's eyes brightened, and she excitedly said, "Yes, I have two Dragon Soul Stones. I used one myself, and there's one left."

The effect of the first Dragon Soul Stone is the best, and using it multiple times would be a waste.

Having two. Garon could guess how Luna came by her Dragon Soul Stones, feeling a bit envious.

The familial bonds among metallic dragons are much stronger than those among the chromatic dragons.

Trouble a younger one, and the elder will come seeking revenge without a second thought.

Especially among gold and silver dragons, if offended severely, it could very likely reach all the way to the dragon god Bahamut.

Given that she had a Dragon Soul Stone, this female silver dragon likely had an ancient dragon as a relative.

Seeing Garon waver, Luna thought for a moment and gently smiled, "How about this? You think about it for some more time. I didn't bring the Dragon Soul Stone with me anyway."

"Next time I come, I'll bring the Dragon Soul Stone, and you can decide then."

Garon nodded, "Alright, let's do that."

After discussing the main issue, Luna showed no signs of wanting to leave immediately, her curious gaze wandering over Garon, particularly focusing on his formidable dragon horns and the black scales around his neck.

Especially the dragon horns.

In dragonkind aesthetics, the presence and size of dragon horns are a significant factor.

True dragons with prominent, large horns are highly attractive to the opposite sex.

Garon had horns, and not just a pair, but two pairs, while ordinary true dragons only have one pair.

Under Luna's curious gaze, Garon felt somewhat uncomfortable, asking displeasedly, "What are you looking at?"

The mature human-formed silver dragon's face turned slightly red as she admitted, "I'm looking at your dragon horns. Sorry, it's the first time I've seen a true dragon with two pairs of horns. They are very special and quite beautiful."

So it was my appearance that attracted her. Garon's displeasure faded, and he graciously said, "Look all you want, I don't mind."

With that, Luna felt too embarrassed to continue staring and withdrew her gaze, also asking, "This place used to be Salya's territory. How is she now?"

Garon didn't want to delve deeper, simply stating, "I don't know. I just drove her away."

He could easily track the movements of the White Dragon Mother with a

time marker if he wanted, but Garon hadn't actively searched for her location; currently, there was little interaction between them.

Luna nodded, no longer inquiring, and said, "You are the strangest White Dragon I have ever met."

Meanwhile, Garon, thinking of the surely numerous true dragons living in the far northern ice plains, asked, "Luna, do you know how many true dragons live in the far northern ice plains?"

Luna blinked, responding, "The entire far northern ice plains? I don't know."

Garon rephrased his question, "Within a range not too far from my territory, do you know of any other true dragons?"

Luna lowered her head in thought for a moment, then slowly said, "Beyond your dragon's nest, about four hundred li to the north on a snow mountain, there's a nearly mature female Crystal Dragon."

"Six hundred li to the west, there are two male White Dragons close to each other, one in prime age, and the other just matured."

"I'm not sure about the others."

Pausing, Luna seemed to recall something amusing, "I know about the Crystal Dragon and Salya because the Crystal Dragon once tried to steal Salya's dragon egg, fighting all the way to near my territory."

"If she had succeeded, perhaps a benevolent White Dragon might have appeared in the far northern ice plains."

Is that so?

Garon was taken aback.

If she had succeeded, his own White Dragon Mother might have turned into a Crystal Dragon Mother. Garon thought.

Gemstone dragons have neutral personalities, and among them, Crystal Dragons are the friendliest, somewhat similar to metallic dragons. If born in a Crystal Dragon's nest, his early life would have been much easier.

Thinking this, Garon felt it a pity that the Crystal Dragon hadn't succeeded in stealing the egg.

After chatting a bit more, Luna suddenly glanced outside the dragon's nest, then said enviously, "Savage species are rare. There isn't a single savage species among my kin, and you even have a Savage Tiger."

Garon smiled, feeling better about Luna, and his tone was less cold.

"Indeed, savage species are different from ordinary magical creatures. It took quite an effort to subdue it."

As Garon spoke, Luna gracefully stood up, then pursed her lips and smiled, "I must go now. Next time we meet, I hope you will agree to my request."

Garon made no promises, simply stating, "I will consider it."

Then, Luna, still in human form, cast a spell, unfurling a pair of faint cloud wings behind her, and flew away from Garon's dragon's nest.
