Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Battle Between Mother and Child

"What did you say?"

The White Dragon Mother was initially startled, doubting she had heard correctly. Realizing the intent behind Garon's words, her gaze turned icy. The dragon's majesty, nearly that of an adult, burst forth, swiftly pressing down on Garon.

The pulse-like dragon's majesty was invisible, but due to the influence on the flying snow around, it formed a circular ripple that swept towards Garon.

Garon did not dodge or avoid it, allowing the dragon's majesty to wash over him.

Hum!

His spirit shook as if he had seen a pair of eyes filled with malicious intent, bearing the might of a top predator in the food chain.

In less than half a second, Garon broke free from the White Dragon Mother's dragon majesty. As for the ripple formed by the snow, it felt no more impactful than a breeze on his face.

"I said, I want eighty percent of your treasure, or else I'll take it by force."

"If I have to take it myself, I'll leave you not a single gem or gold coin."

Garon, fearless against the overwhelming dragon's majesty, showed no weakness.

He shook his dragon wings, stretching them out fully on either side, while lifting his head, his four majestic dragon horns pointing straight at the sky.

His platinum dragon eyes stared directly at the White Dragon Mother. Garon's own dragon's majesty also stirred up a circle of snow and wind, sweeping over her.

Being true dragons, they were not greatly affected by each other's dragon majesty.

But the release of dragon's majesty was a signal.

A signal that restraint was about to be lost, and an attack would soon follow.

The White Dragon Mother's eyes fixed on Garon, unsure where his confidence and courage came from. She snorted coldly and said, "So you covet my treasure. My decision to expel you then was indeed correct."

After a pause, a dangerous look appeared in her eyes. "The growth you've achieved in the past six months gives you the audacity to challenge me, but the gap in our ages is not something growth can overcome!"

"Garon, my foolish eldest son, today I will teach you a lesson that will be engraved in your blood."

"Challenging an older dragon is an act of supreme folly!"

Compared to the relatively rational and calm Garon, the White Dragon Mother's character was purely that of a vile dragon.

She was volatile, selfish, and merciless.

Knowing that Garon was after her treasure, she could hardly bear it any longer.

As Garon watched, the White Dragon Mother tilted her elongated neck back, her white scales shimmering.

Elemental energy began to stir. The surrounding winds swiftly grew sharper, as if knives were whirling through the air.

Spell-like ability, Wind Creation.

Whoosh!

Stimulated by the elemental energy, a violent cyclone, dozens of yards in diameter, formed instantly. The high-speed swirling winds engulfed the flying snow, creating a formidable storm sweeping towards Garon.

The storm was sharp, cutting many hexagonal snowflakes into pieces.

Garon was unwilling to endure the mature dragon's spell-like ability and immediately used the power of time, activating a fivefold speed state.

The speed of the storm was fast, and without the fivefold speed, he would have been at risk of not evading it.

Whoosh!

Garon's speed surpassed the storm. He soared straight up, turning into a white line that disappeared into the blizzard, vanishing from the White Dragon Mother's sight just as he was about to be engulfed by the wind.

The White Dragon Mother blinked in surprise.

Where had the dragon gone?

Her proud true dragon nature made her believe that a single Wind Creation spell could handle Garon, breaking his rebellious intent as it was a spell-like ability only a near-adult white dragon could master, and its power was considerable.

Failing to hit Garon and losing sight of him stirred a sense of unease in her.

At the same time, Garon, having risen to a kilometer in the air and hidden himself within a cloud, looked down at the White Dragon Mother searching for him.

Then, Garon took a deep breath, the magic within his body churning and converging at his mouth.

The White Dragon Mother was the strongest creature he had faced so far. Although Garon believed she was no match for him, he did not underestimate her, maintaining a calm and steady mindset during the fight.

Since his aim was to teach the White Dragon Mother a lesson, not to kill her, Garon did not use his Time-Plundering Breath.

As the Frost Dragon Breath gathered in his mouth, Garon, moving at two hundred meters per second, retracted his dragon wings and plummeted downwards like a white meteor.

About two seconds later, when the White Dragon Mother sensed the oppressive force of the wind above, she looked

 up in shock.

In her field of vision, Garon opened his dragon mouth, the icy blue light churning within. As he spiraled down, his wings spread like sails, now less than a hundred meters away from her.

Simultaneously.

Boom!

The Frost Dragon Breath erupted forth, the icy blue column of breath hitting the White Dragon Mother with immense force.

Too close to dodge in time, she was hit hard by the breath.

The Frost Dragon Breath contained bone-chilling cold winds and countless solid ice spikes and cones, carrying tremendous force, striking her and sending her crashing to the ground.

The dragon breath, one of the most powerful attacks of a true dragon, caught the White Dragon Mother off guard and dealt her significant damage.

If it weren't for her being a white dragon with high resistance to cold attacks, that direct hit could have been lethal.

Even so, she was in a sorry state.

Buried under a foot of snow, her body was covered in clusters of ice crystals, and her scales showed numerous scratches from the impact of the solid ice crystals in the dragon breath.

Blinking, she realized in shock that she had been knocked down from the sky by Garon in one strike, a cruel reality she found difficult to accept.

While her underestimation played a part, the fact remained that she had been overpowered in their first encounter.

For any dragon, being brought down by their own young was a humiliating ordeal, and the pride of dragonkind made the White Dragon Mother feel as if flames were churning inside her, her anger reaching an indescribable level.

"Garon!"

Her clear dragon cry was full of rage.

As it reached Garon's ears, he felt a vindictive pleasure, thoroughly exhilarated as if a heavy stone that had long been pressing on his heart had been lifted.

The more shame and anger the White Dragon Mother felt, the happier he became.

"Sulia, are all adult dragons this weak, or is it just you who is exceptionally frail?"

Hovering in the air, Garon looked down at the White Dragon Mother, not missing a chance to taunt her further, directly calling her by her name without any honorifics.

This remark made the White Dragon Mother even more intolerable, and Garon's condescending look from above made her fury uncontrollable.

She roared, and the thick snow around her exploded like a white rainstorm.

Then, the White Dragon Mother soared into the sky, her sharp dragon claws reaching out fiercely towards Garon.
