After Lucian left, Xavier busied himself making dinner.
Iris told him that she didn't want to eat because she planned to start a diet, thinking Xavier was intentionally overfeeding her.
But Xavier persisted, cooking dinner anyway.
Unable to stop him, Iris decided to delve back into her book, lying on the sofa in the living room.
Iris was so absorbed in reading the book. She didn't notice when Xavier finished cooking. Xavier called her several times to eat, but she was too engrossed to hear.
Xavier smiled, observed her, and then approached. Before he caught her attention, he saw the book she was reading, which surprised him — it was about dark magic.
He was shocked that such a book was in his collection. He composed himself and moved closer to her.
"Darling, do you think the book you read is more attractive than me!?" Xavier's voice, near Iris' ear, startled her.
