Maya, busy behind the coffee machine, was surprised when she saw Iris enter the cafe.
"Good morning, Iris. I'm so happy to see you," Maya smiled at her and continued making coffee. "What brings you here?" she asked excitedly.
Iris smiled back at Maya. She joined her behind the counter and sat in the cashier's chair. "I have free time today, so I decided to come and help you guys," she said while checking the order list. "Can you and Kevin manage the cafe on your own?"
She was concerned because usually, this cafe was run by three people, but now only two. She knew they must be overwhelmed.
"So far, we've been able to handle things. It's just that Kevin needs some assistance in the kitchen," Maya smiled faintly, glancing in the kitchen direction.
Iris understood what Maya was trying to say. She could only give her a faint smile. "Should we hire a part-timer to help him in the kitchen!?" she suggested.
