Chereads / How To Change The Ending / Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

"Did you pack everything?" Lilian asked, as she wore a thick black cloak.

She hides her red hair with the hood; the same goes for Lizzie.

Their hair colour is very rare, so they would attract a lot of attention if they didn't hide it, and they would get caught right away if they didn't hide their appearance.

"There's nothing to bring. It's going to be a long journey even though we just arrived." Lizzie sighed as she looked around the room.

"Well, it looks like we cannot help the grand duke restore his relationship with Luca." Lilian expresses her regret.

They don't intend to run away or make everyone worry; they just need more information to make it easier for them to complete the mission given by Chevelure.

"Let's leave a letter for them. I hope the grand duke opens his heart to Luca, even just a little." Lizzie said it with a beautiful smile.

Lilian smiled at her twin words and nodded.

They wrote a letter and put it on the table beside their bed. Lilian opens the magic portal and teleports both of them to the Peristine town, where the key is hidden.

They opened their eyes, and they saw a different place. This might be the Peristine town. The town was in the capital, and it was very far from the grand duke's place.

So, Lark will have a hard time searching for them this time.

"This place is absolutely beautiful. There were so many people here." Lizzie looks around as she observes the town.

It was a completely different place for them.

Maybe because they are commoners, their way of dressing is not as luxurious as that of noble people. The place was buzzing with the voices of adults and children.

Children run around laughing while adults are busy chatting with each other. All of them look happy and satisfied with their lives. This world is where monsters and demons exist. Even though their safety is always on the line, they still live happily.

"Which way do we have to go, Isdor?" Lilian didn't reply to Lizzie's words and looked at Isdor, who was lingering on Lizzie's shoulder.

He's in a baby leopard state, but he still needs to make sure he doesn't catch anyone's eye.

"From now on, the two of you need to find two things: the key and the pendant. These two things are kept in different places, so it's faster if the two of you split up." Isdor said calmly.

"Pendant? What pendant? Why do we have to look for that thing?" Lizzie asked with a frown.

Their original purpose was to find the keys to the ancient library, not the pendant.

"That pendant will make things easier for you two when we go to the black forest later." Isdor replied.

The ancient library was in a lake located in the middle of a black forest that no human had ever entered.

Anyone who enters the forest will not be able to get out and will be trapped inside it forever. No one knows if they are alive or dead. People who come in never come out. And even if they manage to get out of there safely, they will lose their sanity.

"What does the pendant have to do with us going to the black forest?" Lilian asked with a serious expression on her face.

"You two haven't forgotten that the black forest is guarded by one of the most powerful divine beasts of God, right?" Lilian and Lizzie nodded their heads.

"That pendant is a guarantee to make sure that the divine beast does not attack us when we arrive. The pendant has the power of the Lord, so the divine beast will know that we are not intruders and will not be harmed."

"Aren't you also divine beast? Can't he sense your existence since you will be coming with us?" Lizzie asked as she wondered about it.

"The divine beast that was guarding the ancient library is an aggressive and protective being. They will not let any divine beast or human come near that place to protect the library. That's why the pendant is the thing we should bring together with us."

The ancient library is like a place where all living human information is stored. Because of that, whoever finds the ancient library will not be able to return to their old lives safely.

They will be sent to heaven or hell if they find the library.

And for humans who fail to find the library, they will get out of the black forest safely, but their sanity will slowly disappear.

"So we have to split up to find that thing..." Lizzie held her own chin with a calm face.

"Lizzie. You will go and find the key to the ancient library with Isdor. I'll go find the locket." Lilian spoke in a low voice.

Lizzie turned her head towards Lilian, who was standing next to her with a stern face.

"You want Isdor to come with me, and you will go alone? Are you crazy? What if something happens to you?" Lizzie's expression was very serious, but Lilian just laughed. "You're laughing?"

"Lizzie."

"Lilian."

Lizzie called Lilian's name, and Lilian called Lizzie's name. They looked at each other. One is serious, and one is smiling.

"Let Isdor go with you. I'm sure Chevelure can help me find the locket." Lilian said.

"This is not a matter of whether you can find the locket alone or not! This is about your safety!" Lizzie firmly voiced her concern.

"If Isdor comes with you, Chevelure will come with me, so what do you want to worry about?"

"It's not like he's going to appear out of nowhere and help you when you're in danger...!" Lizzie still wanted to insist on her opinion.

"Lizzie. Let's stop here, okay? We don't have time to argue. The grand duke will be able to catch up with us if we keep delaying like this. We will be caught in no time."

Lizzie bit her lower lips with an uneasy expression, but soon she nodded her head. She knew she had to agree to it since Lilian wouldn't change her mind after making such a decision.

"But promise me that you will be fine." Lizzie held her hand with desperate eyes.

She's hoping that Lilian will take care of herself and not get hurt.

"I know. I promise you. Let's split up now."

Lilian turned her back on Lizzie and started to walk away from her, while Lizzie didn't move from her place and kept staring at Lilian's back until her body disappeared through the crowd.

"Let's find the key and go to Lilian immediately." Lizzie spoke with a serious tone.

Isdor, who had never heard or seemed to have such a serious expression and voice, trembled for a while.

The aura that came out of Lizzie's body felt weird.

It's as if she's ready to sacrifice everything if something were to happen to Lilian.

"You have to enter an abandoned mansion on the mountain. The key was hidden inside the mansion." Isdor said.

"Where is that mountain?"

"We have to enter the Bery forest in order to go to that mansion."

"Is it far?"

"It would take 6 hours to go there by walking." Isdor said it with a shameless face.

"S-Sixth hours? Are you crazy?" Lizzie asked with a genuine, shocked face.

It took longer than Lizzie expected.

She never thought that she had to climb the mountains to find the key, and most importantly, she had to walk. If Lilian was with them, they could teleport there without using much energy.

"You are physically weak, so starting from now on you will have to do a lot of exercise." Isdor said it guiltlessly.

Lizzie and Lilian have two different powers.

Lizzie has a strength that no normal human has, but she still needs training. With training, she can use her strength freely and have no problem destroying a mountain with one single punch.

"Why doesn't Lilian have to do that?" Lizzie expressed her thoughts.

It's not fair that she had to suffer and Lilian didn't when both of them carry the same responsibility.

"Who says only you have to do that exercise? She also needs to do the same thing. The mana that flows in her body needs to be controlled, so she needs physical exercise to stabilise the mana in her body."

After hearing it, Lizzie's expression began to soften. It looks like Lilian also needs to do some exercise.

Bery Forest is a bit far from the town, so it will take them longer to arrive at the mountain. Lizzie walked and continued to walk.

One hour.

Two hour.

Three hour.

Time continues to pass, and only then does she see the Bery forest. There's a warning sign outside the forest. Warning the people not to enter the forest since some beasts and monsters might appear in the forest.

"We are still far from finding the key." Lizzie sighed as she realised that she still hadn't even entered the forest.

She needs to enter the forest and fight with beasts and monsters, and she needs to climb the mountains in order to find the key. At this time, she's hoping that she has the magic power to teleport herself to the mountain.

"Isdor. Look at this sign. It's said that there are beasts and monsters in it. What if I get injured by those animals?" Lizzie said it as if she were trying to make an excuse not to enter the forest.

Isdor knew that she just didn't want to continue walking. She must be so tired after three hours of walking nonstop just to find the forest.

"Your power is not for decoration purposes."

But Isdor didn't give a damn about it.

She needs harsh training in order to face this world. This world will be far more dangerous than she ever imagined, so she needs to be trained now so that she can prepare herself for any sort of situation.

"Hey... Don't you think you're being too heartless to me?"

"I believe I treat you politely enough. Stop whining and continue. If you keep babling, you won't find the key, and you will keep wasting your time."

Lizzie rolls her eyes and continues to walk. She entered the forest after confirming that no one had seen her.

She walks and continues to walk without resting. But as she walked without stopping, she began to feel weird. The deeper she went, the darker the forest got. She got the feeling something was watching her, and she kept looking around. She needs to be cautious.

She didn't know when the monsters would attack her, so she couldn't be careless.

"What is this uneasy feeling?" Lizzie muttered to herself.

Isdor, who's sitting on Lizzie's shoulder, looks at her and jumps at the tree far from her. She's a bit taken aback by his sudden movement.

"What the hell are you doing, Isdor?" She asked because she felt confused about him.

"You should focus on saving yourself, Lizzie." He said it heartlessly as he stared at the troll, as big as the tree, that appeared in front of Lizzie while drooling.

Lizzie's laughter filled the forest the moment her eyes met the trolls.

"Wahhh. Isdor, you're making me feel like I'm a fucking warrior." Lizzie let out abusive language as she avoided the troll's attack.

"You will be the warrior."

"But right now I'm in child body! There's no way a child like me can become a warrior! Letting me fight with a troll that's ten thousand times bigger than me is similar to asking me to go and die!" Lizzie said, as she didn't know what to do with the troll.

"Take this."

Isdor threw a wooden sword that came out of nowhere. Where the hell did he even get this wooden sword?

"What? What do you want me to do, then? I've never held a sword before, you stupid leopard!"

In her previous life, she didn't even know how to use a gun, let alone a sword that was barely used in her original world.

"You remember about an aura user, right?"

"Huh? Yeah, yeah, I remember. So what with that?"

"Aside from super strength, you can also control your aura. So try to feel the flow in your body. Let it wrap around the wooden sword."

"Feel the aura? How do you feel it?"

"Close your eyes. Calm down, and you will gradually feel it in your body."

"Calm down?? You told me to calm down when there's a huge fucking troll in front of me?"

"Don't worry. I'm going to create a barrier so the troll won't be able to attack you. So close your damn eyes and feel the aura. Don't keep talking." Isdor said as he glared at Lizzie, who was standing on the ground.

"Erghh! I hate you so much!"

Lizzie said this with a grudge in her heart, but she followed his lead and closed her eyes. Just like Isdor said, she can feel a flow of aura in her body, and it's so aggressive. She felt like she could cut the troll's head off with one slice.

"Let the aura out and control the aura. Let it wrap the sword."

Isdor gave an instruction to Lizzie, and she followed it obediently.

She opened her eyes, and she saw a pink, golden light wrapping the wooden sword. The sword looks far more intimidating than before.

"How do you feel?" Isdor asks as he looks at her, who looks surprised by her own power.

"It feels amazing." She said it with a soft smile.

"Lizzie."

"Yes?"

"From now on, you have to learn about monsters. You have to observe the monster and find out what their weak point is in order to defeat them. In terms of rank, a troll is the easiest monster to defeat. Their weak point is their head, which means you just have to cut off their head, but only some people were able to do it."

"Then, what about me? Can I just cut off his head?"

"You can. But I'll let you know in advance that if a situation arose where you couldn't cut off his head, you could attack both of his eyes and the crystal on their forehead. That can make them weak, and you can cut his head at that time."

Lizzie observes the troll that is still staring at her with a drooling mouth.

She saw the blue crystal on his forehead.

"What is that blue crystal?"

"Every monster has those blue crystals, and it was their weak point. Whenever you destroy the crystal, they will become numb, and it will be easy to attack."

"Wow. That's new information for me. Why didn't the novel describe it?"

As far as she remembers, there's no detail about monsters in OTLS, even though the world is basically filled with monsters.

"It's a romance book, isn't it? So how would it be described in a book?"

"Well, you're right."

It's a story about how they come back to the past and restart their lives with no memory of their past lives.

That's why not everyone loves the novel.

It's because of the concept of not being able to remember anything every time they go back to the past.

At first, it was good, but when it kept being like that, it started to get annoying because of how the novel always ends with the same tragic ending. It would be different if one of the main characters remembered the past because they would probably have an idea of what to do and what to prevent in order to avoid the same ending.

"But you have to be careful. There are a lot of monsters that are far stronger than you imagine. And some of those monsters do not only have one crystal. So if only one monster appears but it has a lot of crystal on its body, it's going to be hard to kill it."

"I see. So, I'll meet more monsters on my way to find the key?"

"Well, you will encounter some monsters if you're unlucky. Now, use your power to handle the troll." Isdor said as the golden barrier began to disappear.

Lizzie held the sword tightly and began to attack the troll with her small body. She injured the troll's right arm, and it bled, but a second later the wound was healed. She remembered the fact that trolls recover really fast.

"Avoid hurting them because you'll get tired more easily. Since its recovery is fast, you will be at a disadvantage." Isdor said as he continued to observe Lizzie's movement.

"Yes!" Lizzie replied in a firm voice.

She jumped onto the troll's large arm, then ran and stopped on the troll's shoulder before jumping onto its head. Then she swung the wooden sword in her hand, and she stabbed the crystal that was on the troll's forehead before she jumped down.

"Cut off his head now! Take out your aura to make sure the sword is sharper!" Isdor threw orders like a commando.

Lizzie nodded and followed the instructions calmly.

A golden pink aura enveloped the wooden sword, and she ran towards the troll, who was in a daze after the crystal on its forehead was destroyed.

Lizzie's small body floated in the air, and her wooden sword swung deftly. After swinging her sword, Lizzie landed on the ground.

A moment later, the troll's head fell on the ground, and its large body also fell after the head was separated from the body. Lizzie let out a heavy breath. She was breathing rapidly from exhaustion.

"You're pretty good even though it's your first time using an aura."

Isdor, who had been on the tree earlier, jumped down and walked in front of Lizzie, who was tired.

"Huh. Why am I so tired?" Lizzie asked with a frown.

She didn't feel this tired when they were dealing with the troll in the forest to save the children that were kidnapped.

"Because aura consumes a lot of energy. Using an aura is the same as using magic. Because of that, you and Lilian need to train to make sure both of your bodies can accept the use of aura and magic without fainting."

"Is there anyone who faints after using aura and magic?"

"People who are still inexperienced will faint right after using it. That's why I said you're pretty good because you didn't faint even though this is your first time using aura."

Lizzie laid her body on the tree to take a rest. She still has a long way to go. And then she remembered something. She remembered the barrier Isdor made to protect her from the troll attack.

"I wonder. Did Lilian also have the ability to create barriers like you did?"

"She did. I think you don't know, but that body has a tremendous amount of power. She can use various magics, and she doesn't need a long time to perform magic. She also has healing power, but it's still not awakened yet."

"Wow! She has such a great power!" Lizzie said as she smiled excitedly.

"And magic doesn't work on you." Isdor said while Lizzie showed him a confused face.

"Magic doesn't work on me. What do you mean?"

"It means that if someone were to attack you using magic, they would fail because you wouldn't get hurt by it. No matter whether it's a curse or not. As long as it's related to magic, it won't work on you."

"Then, what about Lilian?"

"The magic will work on her. But she's not going to suffer for long. Even if it's a curse, she will suffer for 4 years at most before it completely disappears."

That's how it works.

It would be better if the magic also didn't work on Lilian. Lizzie doesn't feel good about knowing it.

"Lizzie. Let's continue." Isdor forced Lizzie to stand up.

"Hey. Let me rest for a while." She just gets the chance to rest! Give her at least one hour to recover her strength! "Huh? Isdor... Do you see that?"

"What?"

She's looking at the body that was lying not far from them. She was tired, but the moment she saw it, she immediately stood up and walked near the tree, where she saw a boy with blonde hair lying with a serious injury.

"Why is there a kid in this forest? And how could he end up in this situation? He looks like he'll die at any time because he's losing too much blood!" Lizzie said this with a worried look on her face.

She hates this situation.

She feels bad for the boy. She felt like she should help him, even though she knew that she didn't have time for this.

"He won't die." Isdor said it heartlessly.

Lizzie glared at him. This beast is so heartless!

"With a situation like this, you said he wouldn't die?" Lizzie asked with a serious glare.

"Because that's the truth. This child's destiny is far from ending, so he won't die here."

"Even if it's true, no child deserves to be in this pain!" Lizzie was quite sensitive when it came to an innocent child.

This child is probably the same.

No, every child is the same. They need to grow up in a good environment. They deserve to be loved, and they don't deserve to live in this pain and have traumatic memories at such a young age!

"Then what can you even do? You don't have healing power. You also didn't have talent in magic. You can do nothing for that child."

It's a very cold word, but that's the truth. Everything that Isdor said is the truth that Lizzie can't deny. Even so, she didn't want to let him be like this.

"But I'm not heartless enough to let this child suffer alone. It probably hurt. Look at his condition. I know his injury is quite serious."

"So you want to help him?"

"I did."

"You can't."

"Why not?"

"The moment you help him, his fate will change."

"Is it going to change for the better or the worse?"

"It will change for the better, but you're going to regret it."

"Then I'm going to help him. I'm sure I won't regret it. No child deserves to live in pain."

She stood up and went to look for some herbs that can be used to treat wounds. She learned a little about herbs, so she knows how to treat wounds using herbs. She carried him on her back and went to the river. She found some herbs on their way to the river.

She finds a clean stone and uses it to grind the herbs. After that, she took off the boy's clothes without any hesitation. She wiped the boy's body with wet clothes, and she cleaned the blood on his body before she applied the herb to his wounds.

This is a wound from being stabbed by a sword. It's not too deep, but it's still dangerous since he's just a child! Who would stab a beautiful boy like him? Even though he closed his eyes, she could tell that he was handsome.

She wonders how handsome he could be if he opened those eyes. Lizzie bandaged the boy's wound carefully. After she finished it, a small hand grabbed her hand.

The boy has his eyes open, and he was staring at her with a suspicious gaze.

"Oh, hello. Urm, I found you bleeding, so I'm trying to help. You need to get out of this forest and get proper treatment. You should be able to walk out of this forest."

Lizzie said as she took her hand.

The boy looked at the wound that was supposed to be on his stomach. He looked at her again. She must have been the one who bandaged his wounds and treated him since they didn't hurt as much as before.

But he needs to be careful.

This girl might be someone who was sent by that 'woman'.

But he didn't feel any ill intent from her. Did she help him out of kindness? It's unbelievable that this kind of person still exists in this world. Every human he met is a greedy and selfish human, and all of them just want power so they can control everything.

"I'm going to leave now. Please don't stay here and leave immediately. It would be a great problem if you met monsters on your way out."

She stood up and turned her body to walk away.

It could have been better if she could go to the town together since we wouldn't know when the monsters would attack. But she has something to do, and she can't let it drag on any longer. She should take her leave as soon as possible.

"Name!" He said this as he stopped her while grabbing her cloak.

"Huh? You want to know my name?" And the boy nodded. She looked at him with a gentle smile. "Lizzie. My name is Lizzie."

"Lizzie... Lizzie..." He muttered her name in a low voice.

Lizzie looks at him with curious eyes, but she knows she should be wasting her time.

"I told you my name; shouldn't you tell me your name?"

He looked cautious, but then he said, "Mikael. I'm Mikael."

"Mikael. I love your name." She smiled brightly, and for some reason, he got embarrassed. "I don't know what made you come here, but you need to leave immediately." She said this as she gave some money to him.

He needs proper treatment, and to get treatment, they have to pay. He didn't look like he had money on him, so she gave him her money. She brought a lot of money with her, so there's nothing to worry about.

"You... What about you?"

Mikael stopped her once again when she was about to leave. Perhaps he's worried about her safety.

"I still have a job to do, so I won't go out yet." She replied calmly.

"No...! It's dangerous for you to go alone. Monsters! There are a lot of monsters." He said this as he held onto her cloak tightly.

It's normal for him to stop her since she's smaller than him. Furthermore, she's just a young girl. Why would a little girl like her enter this dangerous forest? Even an adult man avoids going near this forest.

"It's fine. I'm going to be okay. So go out first. I can't bring you with me since you're not in good condition, so get out of this forest immediately." Lizzie said it with a serious expression.

"No. It's dangerous! You will die!" Mikael stopped her from leaving.

She saved him, so how could he have the heart to let her go deeper into the forest? It will be even more dangerous. What if she encounters monsters that are ten thousand times bigger than her? She would turn into dust in no time!

"You and I are different. I can't get out of this forest. So don't be stubborn and leave this place immediately."

The key hasn't been found yet, so it's impossible for her to get out of this forest. And Mikael has a different condition. She's someone who's protected by a divine beast, so it's not going to be that dangerous.

After all, she's an existence that will not die, so what is there to worry about?

"No. I'm not leaving. You can't go alone!" Mikael refused to let her go.

Lizzie can easily shake off his grip, but she didn't do that out of sympathy. He is just worried about her, just like she felt about him earlier.

"Then what can you even do in that situation? You can't even protect yourself. You have to leave, so why are you being so stubborn?"

"I can't let my Saviour go in. The deeper you go, the more dangerous it'll become!"

"I warned you. The moment you save him, his fate will be twisted."

Isdor, who appears out of nowhere, makes Mikael take out his sword. It's a leopard, so it's normal for him to react like that. Even though it is just a small leopard, it could be dangerous.

"Li-Lizzie! Come here!"

He called her name when Isdor was standing beside her. Perhaps he's afraid that the leopard would harm her.

"Calm down, Mikael. This leopard is my pet. It won't bite its owner."

Isdor stares at Lizzie with angry eyes. "Since when did I become your pet, you stupid being?" Isdor asked.

Lizzie glared at him back. "Shut up. Then what am I supposed to say? That you're a divine beast?" She asked, and Isdor showed an unsatisfied expression.

"Your pet? Are you sure it's not dangerous? Most beasts will bite their owners. Even though it's just a baby, when it grows up, it will be dangerous." He said it with a cautious voice.

He stared at Isdor, and Isdor jumped into Lizzie's arms.

"Don't worry. It won't bite." Lizzie is calm. "Now, please get out of this forest." She said it with a serious expression.

"I don't understand. Why do you want to go deeper when you know it's dangerous?"

"Because I will be fine and you are not."

"You're smaller than me, and you're saying you're going to be okay?"

"Mikael. Let's not make things difficult. The longer I'm here, the harder it is for me to find the thing I'm supposed to."

"Then let me go with you!"

"Huh? No, why would you do that?"

"You're small. What if you met monsters on your way?"

"Hey, you're not in good condition, so don't talk nonsense!"

He wants to come with Lizzie when he is clearly injured. Is he crazy? It will take about one week to make sure he's fully healed!

"But..."

"Listen, you coming with me won't help me in any way, and I can protect myself. This pet of mine can protect me too, so don't waste your time. Get out of this forest. Only then can I be thankful to you."

"Lizzie..."

"You just have to walk straight from here. You will get out of the forest in no time. Then, let's meet again. I'll be going."

Lizzie walks away from Mikael. He froze in surprise. He didn't know what to say. He knows he won't be much help, even if he goes with her. He has a feeling that he will faint at any time.

That's why he didn't stop her this time. If he faints beside her, it's probably going to be a problem for her.

"I'm going to find you. Lizzie."

His bloodshot eyes stared at the place where Lizzie's body disappeared. The eyes were filled with determination. He stood up and walked away from that place. He used the path that Lizzie told him, and three hours later, he got out of the forest safely.

The moment he got out of the forest, he saw a group of knights getting ready to enter the forest.

"Jaiden."

Jaiden Fuvine, the crown prince personal knight.

"Your highness!" The moment Jaiden saw the blonde boy with red eyes, he immediately ran to him with an anxious look. "Are you okay, your highness?" He asked as he examined the boy.

That's right. He is the crown prince of the Alkaezar empire. He's the future emperor, and he's the only son of the current emperor and the empress.

Mikael Elkairo Alkaezar, the crown prince, is famous because of his talent for using swords and aura at the age of 10. He also has an exceptional understanding of the world of politics, which has earned him a lot of support from the nobles.

He's the person who suits to be the emperor and deserves to be at the top.

"I'm fine. Did Father order you to find me?"

"Yes, it is his majesty's order. We were about to enter the forest. Luckily, you come out." Jaiden said.

"Jaiden. I want you to enter the forest."

"Huh? What do you mean, your highness?"

"There's a girl inside the forest. She's the one who saved me. I told her to come with me, but she looks like she has something to do in there. So go in and find her for me."

He can't see her properly since she's using a hood to cover her head. So, he didn't see her hair colour, but he was sure that she had a beautiful golden eye.

"Your highness, are you telling me to enter the forest right now?" Jaiden asked.

It's normal if Jaiden didn't want to since every human being will never enter any forest around the world because of how dangerous it is.

"Then, you want me to let someone who saved my life die in there?"

"Your highness."

"It's an order, Jaiden. Bring your most reliable knight. You're not telling me that you're afraid, right? That little girl was smaller than me, and she didn't even tremble inside the forest. You're an adult and a knight. How can you be more cowardly than that girl?"

Jaiden was left speechless before he sighed.

It's not like he's afraid of the monsters in the forest. He's just worried about Mikael. He is his personal knight, and yet he keeps leaving his side and is not there to protect him.

He ends up in danger most of the time.

And this time it's the same. Mikael was chased by an assassin, and he had no choice but to enter the forest. So how can he leave him again?

"Your highness, it's dangerous to leave you again." Jaiden said what he had been thinking.

After all, he's the most suitable one to be the emperor. If he died, then Mikael's younger brother would be the emperor, but he didn't seem to fit in that position.

"It's an order, Jaiden." Mikael's firm voice makes Jaiden have no choice but to accept his order.

"I'll go there with Beatrice and leave Arthur to escort you." He said this as he kneeled in front of the crown prince.

"That girl wore a thick black cloak, and I was sure that she had golden eyes."

Jaiden frowned at his words. "Golden eyes? Are you sure about that, your highness?" He asked for confirmation.

"Hurm. I heard that the Grand Duke had found his missing daughters. I wonder if the girl I met was his daughter." Mikael said calmly.

Everyone in this empire knows that the people with golden eyes are the people from the duchy. Every child who has Atara blood will possess those beautiful golden eyes.

"His grace found them three days ago, so it's quite impossible if the twin suddenly appeared in this town." Jaiden said what he thought, and Mikael nodded as he agreed.

"Find her. Only when we find her can we have the answer."

"I'll carry out your order, your highness."
