Walking out of the mall after four hours of shopping, I sighed in relief and watched as my best friend was busy on her phone, scrolling through her map in search of a close by coffee shop.
We found a small but well organized coffee shop just 8 minutes away from the mall and we couldn't have been happier.
Walking in to the counter, a blonde woman stood behind it with a smile on her face as she took our orders. I ordered for a cappuccino with milk while River ordered for a mocha latte with chocolate. We sat at the table close to the door and waited for our coffee to be ready.
Chatting for a few minutes, we got our coffee and paid for it. On our way out of the coffee shop I bumped into someone and spilt my coffee all over their clothes. My eyes widened and I gasped almost immediately.
"Oh my God! I'm so-so sorry." I heard River say a few words but I was zoned out by this time. I ran to a nearby table and grabbed the tissue paper on top of it, I dabbed on the stained shirt and couldn't help the tears that pooled in my eyes.
"You've got to be kidding me! Are you blind? Can't you see?"
River audibly gasped and I bowed my head in shame as I allowed the tears in my eyes fall down my cheeks.
"Hey she just said she was sorry, don't speak to her that way. What a sorry excuse of a person!" She spat as she ran a hand up and down my back in a soothing way. I held her arm and nodded my head against her defending me so she doesn't get in trouble.
"I a-am s-so so-sorry f-for your clo-thes sir, I didn't mea-n to bump into you, I wasn't LĂž-looking." I said in a very low voice.
"Well sorry won't clean up my suit now will it Rosaline?" My head snapped up in shock to see my new boss looking down at me in a condescending manner and I felt my inside burn.
"M-m-Mr Xa-Xavier?" My hands flew to my mouth and I watched as he stared at me weirdly for a moment before taking one last look at me and finally sparing River a glance after ignoring her completely.
"Be at work as early as 7:30am, and don't forget to get my coffee. You have a phone so you can google what it is."
He walked out of the shop and I felt even more hotter tears well up in my eyes and I cried silently like a baby. Who would have thought I'd be embarrassed in a coffee shop by my new boss. I hate him!! I hate everything about him, he's so arrogant, rude, disrespectful, pompous, I just hate him.
Finally getting home, i plumped into the couch and stared into space. I couldn't help but to think about the embarrassing situation at the coffee shop, and how my boss embarrassed me even though he knew I was his new employee.
I heard River sit opposite me and I sighed heavily.
"That's your new boss?" She asked.
"Yeah, I forgot to mention how much of a jerk he is." I almost whispered.
"Jerk?!" She spat. "He's an insult to all jerks, that guy is a pompous bastard. Who does he think he is looking down on us like that."
I could feel the anger radiating out of her body and I smiled.
"You know you're so cute when you're defensive." I smiled sweetly at her, she smiled back.
"Do you have to work for him? I mean we could always look for a different job. It's obvious he employed you to make your life a living hell Rose. You're walking into the lion's den."
I sighed heavily at that. She was right, he employed me probably because I looked the weakest and he noticed he had some kind of effect on me that I can't quite explain.
I am really being hunted by the almighty Xavier Woods, but I kinda like it.
Ha bitch.
I mean you can't blame me, the man's a living Greek god. His refined body and toned muscles, his amber eyes and long lashes. Everything about him is just-just mesmerizing.
See! My heart is beating fast just thinking about him, that's how much he affects me. But that doesn't change the fact that I hate him, and I won't let him walk all over me either. I left that life behind when I ran away from home, I'm here to start a new life and I won't let being a pushover be part of it.
I really need to sleep early tonight, I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow. I can't afford to be late on my first day at work.
