Chapter 503 - Chapter 503: Re-election

Nadja Auermann arrived early at Milan International Airport the next morning.

This was not only her first time flying on Simon's private jet but, more accurately, her first time on a private jet at all.

Despite her fame and income having increased significantly over the past year, it was still far from enough to afford private jet travel. For her long-distance work trips, she still relied on commercial flights.

After passing through the VIP security check quickly, she was greeted by a flight attendant in a uniform and escorted onto an unassuming Boeing 767. Though the interior wasn't as luxurious as she had imagined, Nadja Auermann, now more experienced, could appreciate the sophistication and depth behind its seemingly ordinary décor.

She realized that this was something she could never aspire to in her lifetime.

Even if she married a wealthy man, it would be hard to use a Boeing 767 medium-sized plane as a private vehicle.

There was only one Simon Westeros in the world.

She couldn't help but recall the Forbes 400 richest Americans list she had seen recently: Simon Westeros, $65 billion.

Sixty-five billion dollars.

Nadja Auermann found it difficult to comprehend what such a large sum of money meant.

Previously, she had been quite pleased with herself for potentially earning several million francs a year. However, after reaching a higher level, that self-satisfaction vanished.

The dresses and jewelry Simon had casually given her in the past were worth more than her current annual income.

And that young man had given her those gifts without any demands, as if it was just a whim.

The flight attendant led her to a lounge with seats, indicating that the others would arrive soon and that it would be appropriate to move around freely after takeoff.

Though it was just a reminder, the somewhat nervous Nadja Auermann obediently complied, forgetting that it was perfectly fine to walk around before takeoff.

As others arrived and some entered the lounge, everyone exchanged greetings.

Nadja Auermann gradually realized that, among the passengers invited to fly on this private jet, she was probably the least famous. Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, and Claudia Schiffer were all more renowned. Even Mick Jagger's wife, Jerry Hall, whom she had met last night, had more experience in the fashion industry.

Others, like Kevin Costner, Madonna, and Valeria Golino, were all very famous.

Some of these people could afford private jets themselves. She overheard a flight attendant arranging for Valeria Golino's assistant to join Mr. Costner's Gulfstream IV.

Fortunately, Yasmeen Ghauri was not present.

Yasmeen Ghauri's work was based in New York, so she had returned there after completing her shows in Milan to prepare for New York Fashion Week.

Nadja Auermann was increasingly displeased with the media comparing her to Yasmeen Ghauri and didn't want to associate with her.

At nine o'clock, everyone was on board, and the Boeing 767 took off on time.

The flight path was from Milan to New York, taking about eight hours.

Once the plane was in stable flight, everyone began to gather in the interconnected cabins in the midsection of the plane. These included a bar, a lounge, and a dining area. With over twenty people spread across three cabins, it didn't feel crowded at all.

The air party was more like a mild cocktail party.

Small groups chatted, drank, sang, and danced in a generally calm atmosphere.

Nadja Auermann noticed that the others had their own small circles. As a newly famous newcomer with a language barrier, she inevitably felt out of place. Fortunately, she cleverly found a direct solution: sticking close to Westeros.

She had initially been worried.

Westeros's wife was also present.

In her shoes, if she were Westeros's wife, she would definitely keep a tight guard over her husband. However, Janet Westeros seemed indifferent to these things. Even when Madonna flirted half-jokingly with Westeros, Janet just pretended to be angry and laughed it off.

Janet Westeros didn't seem to mind Nadja sticking close to Simon either.

This gave Nadja some fantasies.

Perhaps, if Simon and Janet were just a facade like many high-society couples, she might have a chance to steal him away.

If she could snag a man like Simon Westeros, her life would be complete.

Madonna coaxed Simon into accompanying her on the guitar as she sang a song called "Paradise," which she said would be used as background music for the upcoming Victoria's Secret show and was written by Simon himself.

It was beautiful.

Though different from Madonna's usual style, her rendition carried a unique charm.

Everyone, thoroughly enjoying it, urged her to sing another song.

Madonna then sang another song planned for the Victoria's Secret show. She had heard all the songs Simon prepared for the show and even had demo tapes.

The first song, "Paradise," had an ethereal, enchanting quality. The second, "Angels," was a high-energy rock dance track.

A frequent lyric in "Angels" was "Angels could be bad, You better run."

Nadja Auermann found herself involuntarily singing along midway through, as the melody was incredibly catchy.

After Madonna finished, she playfully begged Simon for the song, promising movie cameos and guest performances until Janet Westeros jokingly dragged her away by the ear, eliciting laughter from everyone.

Watching the young man who, without flaunting it, was the center of everyone's attention, Nadja's thoughts resurfaced.

She felt her lips dry and sipped her wine.

Feeling a bit guilty, she glanced around and noticed Jerry Hall observing her with a slightly teasing look.

Suddenly, Nadja felt exposed.

It seemed she had been staring at Westeros for too long.

Trying to cover her embarrassment, she sipped her wine again and glanced over at Janet Westeros, who was now chatting with Anna Wintour, the editor of Vogue's New York edition, seemingly oblivious to her.

Relieved a bit, she looked back at Westeros. Having finished accompanying Madonna, he was now talking to another pair of people.

It was a father-daughter duo. The middle-aged man had deep-set eyes and appeared to be in his forties. Nadja knew from previous introductions that he was Dario Argento, the renowned Italian horror director, and the girl beside him was his daughter, Asia Argento, who looked about sixteen or seventeen, appearing quiet and well-behaved as she listened to the men's conversation.

However, Nadja's instincts told her that the girl's personality was probably similar to Madonna's. Occasionally, she would glance at Westeros with a clear spark of interest.

Lost in thought, Nadja was suddenly caught off guard when Westeros turned and smiled at her before returning to his conversation with Dario Argento.

She realized she had been staring at him again.

Rising, she asked a flight attendant named Allison if she could use the restroom to freshen up and avoid her awkwardness.

Allison personally escorted her to the restroom. Standing at the sink, Nadja took a deep breath, trying to dispel her chaotic thoughts.

However, she couldn't shake a sense of inferiority.

Maybe this wasn't a world she belonged to.

But she quickly suppressed that thought.

Why shouldn't she enjoy such a life?

After freshening up and regaining her composure, Nadja returned to the bar area instead of the main lounge.

She noticed Jerry Hall sitting at the bar and decided to join her.

"Hi," she greeted.

"Hi," Jerry Hall responded with a smile, indicating her drink. "You should try this. Betsy said it's called Deep Sea."

Jerry Hall's perfect London accent made Nadja a bit envious.

She looked at the deep blue liquid in Jerry's glass.

The sky and sea were blue, both beautiful, but drinking something blue inevitably made one think of poison.

Of course, she didn't believe they would serve poison on this plane.

Nadja nodded and, in her usual English tone, asked the bartender, who she assumed was named Betsy, "Can I have the same, please?"

"Certainly."

Betsy started mixing the drink expertly.

Jerry Hall, having recommended the drink, didn't continue talking to Nadja but instead chatted with the bartender. Betsy, not acting like she was working, responded enthusiastically.

Nadja, whose English wasn't perfect, could make out that they were discussing someone named Claire Gaine, whom Betsy referred to as 'C.' Betsy seemed envious, mentioning that Claire, with Westeros's support, had started a successful camera company.

Listening further, Nadja learned that Betsy was one of Westeros's personal attendants, four in total: A, B, C, and D.

The one before her was 'B,' 'C' had left to pursue her career.

Thinking back, she had seen 'A' and 'D' earlier, probably Allison and Deborah.

However, there seemed to be more than three attendants on board, possibly five. She didn't know the names of the other two, maybe E and F.

If that were the case, it was quite interesting.

But then, realizing that Claire had amassed a fortune of tens of millions in just a few years after leaving, Nadja felt envious again.

If becoming Simon Westeros's maid led to such wealth, even she was tempted.

Being an 'N' seemed appealing.

After all, even if her fame increased, she might never accumulate tens of millions in her career.

She recalled the expensive gifts Simon had casually given her.

Realizing that the root of the matter was that man.

That man could not only create wealth far exceeding other billionaires but could also bestow upon those around him a level of prosperity unattainable by ordinary people.

The conversation beside her continued.

After discussing 'C,' Jerry Hall subtly tried to steer the topic towards Wester

os himself. However, Betsy, aware of the line, smiled but said nothing.

Jerry Hall, trying several times, wisely shifted the topic.

As an observer, Nadja realized that if it had been her, she might have unwittingly divulged something after Jerry Hall's friendly chat. But the girl before her was clearly aware of what should and shouldn't be said.

Perhaps becoming an 'N' wasn't as easy as it seemed.

Kevin Costner and his companion walked in at that moment, and after exchanging greetings, Betsy turned to make their drinks. Jerry Hall then turned to Nadja, chatting casually.

Realizing that the woman before her wasn't simple, Nadja instinctively remained guarded but soon found herself unwittingly talking a lot, even feeling a genuine desire to be friends.

If only she could be as capable.

No wonder she managed to snag someone like Mick Jagger.

Unwittingly, as they talked about Mick Jagger, Nadja noticed a flash of sadness and helplessness in Jerry Hall's expression.

She then remembered the gossip about Mick Jagger and a Spanish model from some time ago.

Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall had married two years ago, with a child on the way, but the man showed no sign of restraining his romantic escapades, constantly appearing in tabloid scandals with various women.

She thought of Westeros.

It was certain he wasn't a restrained man either; there were plenty of rumors about him in the circle. However, he had never publicly caused a scandal after his marriage.

Feeling a bit sympathetic towards Jerry Hall, Nadja couldn't help but think.

What good was it to catch the Rolling Stones lead singer?

She could foresee that this state of affairs would inevitably lead to separation, no matter how magnanimous the woman appeared.

Thinking this, she realized how rare Westeros was.

Given his wealth and status at such a young age, causing scandals would be expected. Not having any would seem abnormal.

Yet, since marrying Janet, there had been no media reports of scandals involving him and other women. Realizing this, Nadja began to question her previous assumption.
