Chapter 24 - Warrior Spirit

Wandering through the Divine Plane in search of a stroke of luck, Zeke felt a great disturbance and, even without much hope, followed in that direction. He spotted an extremely wounded Divine Beast, ahead of which lay a nearly lifeless High Elf, devoid of strength to fight.

Seeing that reminded Zeke of his beloved, who was just an ordinary Elf from a mortal realm. She had passed away decades ago, but it was a wound that constantly haunted Zeke's mind. She was killed and devoured by a Demon Beast right before his eyes.

Zeke acted on pure impulse and nearly lost his life, saving that unknown High Elf. His resources and pills were already scarce, and he used them to escape. Luck was on his side as the Beast was already weakened from the battle against the High Elf.

The name of the High Elf was Laswen, whom Zeke managed to save, but that day changed his life forever.

Laswen turned out to be a legendary figure of whom Zeke had only heard stories. He was a Sovereign, someone who had been blessed by the laws of the world since the day he was born. He was heavily favored by the Celestial Dao and possessed a variety of exceptional abilities.

According to legends, Sovereigns were divine geniuses destined to become great figures. They were spoiled by the heavens, blessed with karmic luck, and their combat strength was astounding. The Celestial Dao would automatically provide them with the energy of Heaven and Earth as long as there was energy in the surrounding area.

In each generation in the Divine Plane, only a dozen Sovereigns would emerge. The Elves did not join sects, preferring to live together with their race and cultivate with the help of the World Tree. A celestial born as a High Elf was destined for greatness.

As Zeke continued his cultivation journey, he experienced several significant moments alongside a great friend, who was also his unbeatable rival and extremely cunning. They challenged each other, overcame obstacles, and grew together, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

While Lian was lost in his thoughts, Liana sat up on the bed and gazed deeply at her son for a few minutes. A sweet smile formed on her face, and she spoke tenderly:

"It seems that your soul has finally blossomed."

A brief moment of surprise appeared in Lian's eyes, but he soon understood. As a celestial, he was able to sense a person's destiny and past.

Lianna continued, "From the moment you were born, I realized that a part of your soul was asleep. Only a small fraction of your consciousness interacted with the world. As you grew up, no one noticed anything amiss, but I knew you were different."

Lian had numerous questions in his mind, but the main thought now was that some puzzle pieces were starting to fit together. His mother was just an ordinary human, born in this world that once belonged to a mortal plane. A Sovereign being born in a mortal world? It seemed like an absurd joke.

The being that saved this continent from destruction and reincarnated him was involved in this. The ability granted to the Albedo clan probably also came from that being.

The power of that being was unimaginable to Zeke, capable of even interfering with the laws of the world to the point of creating a miraculous Sovereign. His incarnation must have been planned for him to return to the world through this miracle.

Minutes passed quickly as Lian tried to calm his mind and make a decision about the next step. Finally, he decided to reveal the truth, to reveal who he truly was, his entire past, and his death.

The conversation stretched throughout the day, and although some parts were omitted, Lianna and Riria listened attentively, filled with astonishment. When Lian mentioned his former name, Lianna had a notable reaction, clearly affected by this revelation.

They discovered that Lian was an almost divine figure who had been born on this continent in the past. The name of the continent and the largest clan, which dominated all the others, was his own name. The news brought tears to the eyes of the two women as Lian recounted his tragic end.

Riria, in particular, was deeply shaken by hearing everything and immersed herself in deep thoughts. She had faced years of loneliness and despair due to her powerlessness but saw a glimmer of hope. Her mother and Lian were alive.

Still, it was hard to imagine how Lian had witnessed the death of everyone around him while he was the sole survivor, without understanding the reason for his reincarnation.

She felt an intense pain in her chest and couldn't stop thinking about Lian. She felt like she would crumble if she didn't do something for him... And then, a thought occurred to her: is this what they call love?

In the end, silence enveloped the room. Lianna pondered for a moment as fear and anguish gripped her heart. She had already realized the condition of her own body. With trembling eyes, she asked, "What do you intend to do in the future? Now that you have been given a new life, while I am just someone who can no longer cultivate... I will do everything to recover... I still want to be by my son's side..."

Lian took a deep breath, understanding his mother's feelings. He knew he would seek revenge in the future and didn't want the past to repeat itself. Reflecting on what lay ahead, he spoke with a heavy tone.

"Throughout my life, I have always desperately sought to become stronger to survive in this cruel world, where only the strongest prevail. I believed that was the only viable option. However... Reflecting on everything that has occurred, including my own death, a strange thought began to emerge in my mind."

He continued. "What if I had more companions to trust in? What if I had united the races and clans, working together more often? If that had happened... Would the people I love have lived a little longer? That's why, this time, I am determined to save those I can and give a chance to those who wish to become stronger. I don't have the necessary confidence to protect everyone around me, but... If you are willing to walk and fight by my side, we can live without fear of death."

Lianna clenched her fists tightly, reminiscing about her past. From the moment she was born, she was considered a genius among geniuses. In just one year of cultivation, she broke through the first three realms that an ordinary cultivator would take a lifetime of pain and suffering to achieve.

Although it seemed like a dream life to many, Lianna always felt a deep emptiness and loneliness in her heart.

At the age of 15, she moved to the capital and joined the continent's largest clan, already in the Meridian Transformation realm, surpassing even the greatest geniuses of that legendary clan.

The envy of other geniuses generated conspiracies and plots against her, as she was from a mediocre clan. In no time, her life became miserable. It was at this moment that she met Lian's father.

Lianna's life finally gained colors, her world turned upside down, and happiness filled her days... until everything was destroyed...

The people of the capital, along with her father's disciple, betrayed them. Her father was killed after being injured in a battle against demons, and a person he trusted attacked him from behind.

Shortly after, she and her husband fell victim to a plot, and he sacrificed himself so that she could escape with their unborn child. She was poisoned, and the poison also affected her child.

Despair descended upon her, leaving her in agony. However, amid her tears of blood, a strange understanding arose within her.

She had received everything from her father, mother, and the heavens. She could have been strong and invincible.

Her greatest weakness was only her mind and spirit. She should not have submitted to those who wanted to destroy her. She should have used her strength to crush all obstacles and protect those she loved, her beloved and her child.

She had the full capacity for it, but she wasted it... she lost them due to her omission...

She didn't realize it, but at that moment, a faint glow ignited in her soul. Her dao heart was forged at that moment. Then, in the lofty heavens, a gaze turned toward her.

A green light enveloped her without realizing it, and then she fainted.

When she woke up, her son was still alive in her womb, with no signs of the poison. It seemed that something had neutralized the poison in her body, keeping it dormant within her meridians. A spark of hope emerged in her heart. She would love and protect her child at all costs.

However, the heavens did not forgive her for her past mistakes. Her cultivation ceased to progress and began to regress. She constantly felt threatened and watched.

The new patriarch of the clan had murdered her father, but she had no evidence and lacked the support of the advisers. She was weak...

To survive, she hunted demons and demonic beasts in the hope of finding a cure and protecting her child. After five years of living in despair, she realized that her future would be bleak.

Her last hope was that her son would not be completely entangled in this and could live within the clan. She even personally trained a reliable and kind young elf to be by his side when she was gone.

Although people didn't realize it, her son was different. At just a few months old, he could already speak and walk without her having had time to teach him anything. He rarely spoke and hardly ever showed emotions in the early years. It seemed that something was dormant inside him. Only when she came home injured he would show the love and concern of a son. Afterward, he began expressing his feelings to the young elf as well.

Lianna felt more at ease, but she also suffered at the thought that her son would suffer greatly from her death.

Until the day she was ambushed by assassins, but she had no intention of dying without a fight. The only thing on her mind was being able to live one more day by her son's side, so she fought like never before. Her warrior spirit refused to bow down and give up.
