She believed that this was a strategy that Aaron's father was using in order to take the power from her. As long as she fell into Aaron's grasp, that implied that Aaron was the one that was going to be the leader of the territory.
Or even if that was not the case, as long as she and Aaron got together, then, that implied that Aaron's father was going to hold a greater advantage over the other people. And, knowing Aaron's father, he was definitely one of those power-hungry people.
