Chapter 35 - The Terror of Three Star Skill

[The second wave of the monster tide will arrive in 30 seconds.]

Before even Henry could get a response from the system, another prompt appeared in front of him. The second wave was only a few seconds ahead.

Henry decided not to think much about the issue, and upgrade the skill to three stars. Although the price was quite high, to him, as long as it was enough for him to be able to kill more monsters, then that was worthy.

Even though he felt his heart bleeding, Henry could only look at the balance plummeting once again. It was true that he currently possessed a huge number of mutation crystals that belonged to the low levels, but those were things that were not deemed important to him.

The moment that the upgrade was initiated, Henry fell that the information in his mind about the fire arrows skill began getting complex. But even so, his mind was able to process the information in just a short period of time.

When he looked around, he noticed that everyone was ready. With only a few seconds left before the second wave of the monsters arrived, there was no one willing to joke around.

With the other youths that died as an example, nobody dared to take the apocalypse as a joke.

With a sword in his hand, Henry was ready to face the monsters. Additionally, he believed that with the skills that he had gotten, he would surely be able to easily rank up during this second wave.

Although it was true that it was quite difficult for him to level up, it was also quite easy for him to get stronger. With two professions leveling up at the same time, the amount of energy in his body enabled him to easily utilize the mage path to deal a lot of destruction.

Until now, Henry had realized something. The skill that he had gotten as a reward from the apocalyptic system, did not have any rank. That was something that he didn't understand.

But even so, he was not willing to pursue that for the moment, considering that there was no time.

"I hope that you don't mind us joining you?" Just as Henry was looking forward to a large group of monsters flooding into the facility through the entrance, an attractive but yet cold voice reached his ears.

Turning around, he realized that there was another group of people that had arrived. This group consisted of only females. And, from the looks of it, the age of all of them ranged between 20 to 30. There were eight of them.

Henry could have a guess that all these women were brought here just like Sarah. Because of their skills, they had been abducted and brought here. Nevertheless, he didn't care much.

The lady who was leading the group possessed wavy blue hair, gray eyes, a voluptuous body, putting on a lab coat that tried to conceal what was beneath it. In one of her hands, there was a plain iron sword.

As she stood there, she gave a cold vibe that told all the people in the surrounding not to come close. It was obvious that she didn't have many friends.

When Sarah saw her, her eyes widened in surprise. She couldn't help but exclaim, "Olivia! Is that really you?"

When the lady heard someone calling her name, she couldn't help but turn around and look at Sarah. The moment that the two eyes met, even she herself was surprised.

"Sarah? You have always been here?" Olivia asked in surprise.

"Yes, it has been 3 months." Sarah replied. At the same time, memories began surfacing in her mind. She couldn't help but feel happy that she had finally found someone that she was quite familiar with.

Olivia and Sarah were friends. The two usually trained together, because their parents always insisted on that. Even though it was true that none of them really liked gun training, they had no choice but to follow the arrangements of their parents.

It was always during these training sessions that the interacted, and they had managed to get along with each other. Not only that were both skilled, but also didn't like to train. Instead, they thought that this was a waste of time.

They had trained for two years together, when suddenly, Olivia disappeared without any information. Sarah had tried contacting her several times, but there was no response at all. Additionally, she used to have response about the number being out of service.

Even though she did not know what was happening, Sarah could only focus on herself. She thought that perhaps Olivia was busy with something else and that was the reason as to why she had disappeared.

But, 2 months later, she had also been abducted and brought here. She had never thought that Olivia was also brought here. At the same time, she could get some link as to why she had never been able to contact Olivia during the two months that she had disappeared. It was obvious that she had been brought here.

Before the two girls could talk anymore, there was a loud commotion that came from the entrance. At the same time, the countdown that had appeared in front of them disappeared. It was obvious that it was already time for the second wave to descend.

Knowing what was important at the moment, Olivia said, "Be careful, I hope that we can talk and catch up after the second wave."

"Take care too." Sarah responded with a nod of her head. The hope that was in her heart had already been ignited. This time, she was going to fight harder so that she can level up faster.

In the group that she was, she was currently the person who was the weakest. And for that reason, there was no way that she was going to agree for that to continue, lest Henry decided to abandon her.

Henry had seen the exchange that had happened between the two girls. But of course, due to the time which they didn't have, he didn't focus on that matter at all.

But still, there was something that he had noticed on Olivia. The lady didn't look simple at all. And from his observation, he thought that perhaps she could join his team as long as she proved herself.

Gripping the sword in his hand, Henry felt all the muscles in his body tensing. At this moment, he was ready to take action.

In just a matter of a few seconds, the entrance of the facility that was previously empty was suddenly flooded. And, from the speed that the monsters were charging towards them, it was obvious that all of them were stronger than the previous monsters that they had encountered.

This time, Henry didn't wait for the monsters to come for him. Instead, since he wanted to have the highest kill count, he decided to take the initiative to attack.

The moment that he made a move, he didn't hold back at all. Without hesitation, he immediately summoned the skill that he had just upgraded from the system.

Fire Arrows.

The energy present in his body was mobilized, before Henry suddenly directed it towards the group of monsters which were charging towards them.

In the next moment, he felt that nearly a third of the energy present in his body was depleted. And before he could even understand why that had happened, another change occurred.

In the sky above the group of monsters that was charging towards them, a wide circle was immediately formed. The magic circle that had been formed in the sky began brightening up, painting the gloomy sky yellow. At the rings of the circle, there was a shade of red that was burning furiously.

Since Henry had decided to charge towards the monsters, it was obvious that he had attracted the attention of all others present. For that reason, Olivia had also managed to see his action.

At first, she had thought that he was suicidal. But then, she couldn't help but wonder how she felt that the person was not simple as he looked.

The next moment, before the young man arrived in front of the group of charging monsters, a circle suddenly appeared in the sky. The circle was having a diameter of more than 200 meters.

Just as she was wondering what it was, she was surprised that in the next moment, as the circle continued brightening up, yellow dots began falling from it.

As they dropped from the sky, they began forming arrows that charged towards the group of monsters.

Boom! Boom! Howl! Roar! Kee!

The moment that the arrows hit the target, they immediately began exploding. The ground shook as if a bomb had just gone off.

The monsters that were within the range of the explosion were either immediately torn to pieces, or grievously injured. At that moment, chaos ensued amongst the group of monsters that was charging towards them in an organized manner.

They began pushing each other, trying to get out of the range of the circle. But, in no time, more and more arrows began descending from the sky. And as the arrows descended and exploded, the casualties within the group of monsters began increasing.

When they saw this scene, nobody could believe it, including Henry himself. Even though it was true that the skill consumed a third of the energy present in his body, the amount of damage that was dealt on the group of monsters was something that he had never dreamed to be capable of doing at his current level.

The fire arrows skill lasted for 30 seconds. Although it was only a few seconds, this was a nightmare to all the monsters that had attacked this time.
