The party was already in full swing before the arrival of the birthday girl. The party was taking place in one of the biggest hotel of the city. The hotel had about 8 massive halls for booking of any type of occasion and over 20 different suits. They stepped out of their Car and headed towards one of the biggest ballroom where the event was taking place. They stepped into the massive ballroom and they were all left speechless. The room was full. Everyone seem to be enjoying themselves and truly, Mia did do a marvelous job at organizing the place. Although she didn't do the work by herself but she did pay an important role of supervising how the work were being done. Mia took a glare at the room and she smiled at how wonderful her creations were. She was never given created for what ever she did but to night, she was going after everything she couldn't have or do.
"Woo!! Your work is so amazing" Leo praised her. He did love how the hall looked. It was perfect with people of high class swinging around so graciously.
"I know" she replied him Smiling from ear to ear at her amazing work. Leo was surprised as to her respond cause mia wasn't the type to take credit for anything she did. She seem to have developed a new found spark and to be honest, it looked good on her.
"Hey guys, I and Ava are going to dance, okay?" Ava's date told Leo and mia while smiling lovely at them.
"OK, sure. I'm going to get some drinks". Mia said as she turned on her heels leaving Leo, Ava and her date behind.
" erhh...I better follow my date then " Leo awkwardly said while crashing his hands together in embarrassment and anger. He left immediately following mia to her destination. When they arrived at the far end of the ball room, Mia took a glass of wine from the Waiter and drank all of it at once before taking another one. Leo on the other hand held his glass of wine on his hands while slowly observing her. "What was up with her?" He couldn't help but ask himself. She doesn't behave this way on a normal so what was with her behavior now? She never drinks wine while at a party. She just holds it and take little or no sip at all. so what was happening? Something was definitely wrong.
"Mia, are you okay?" He asked genuinely worried. He was still angry at her earlier behaviour but he did care and was worried about her. Aside Ava, Leo was someone she knew for the longest of time too. Although she didn't see Leo in the setting her parents wanted her to see him but she did know he was a friend and not a foe.
"Yeah, I'm good. Don't I look Good?" She asked worrying about her appearance.
"No! You look extraordinary. But, you might want to take it easy on the drinks we will soon be called to the stage." Leo told her reminding her that the attention of the birthday girl will soon be needed.
"Yeah I know. Let's go take a sit my foot hurts" she complained as they both made their way to the table sat aside for the birthday girl and her date.
At the far end of the room sat a man in black suit. Just like every other business man in the room, he came with companies. They were all dressed In expansive suites apart from their female dates who looked as heavenly as ever. This unknown man came with one of the top models as his date. Apart from the fame and power he had, his woman was an additional value that made people envy him so much. But every body knew that it was very dangerous to mess with the devil so nobody cared to even glare at them for long. His eye have been fixed on a particular red hair beauty ever since she walked into the ballroom with her date and friends. The way she carried her self graciously drew his attention. She looked like an artwork out of this world. She was indeed beauty.

As much as he wanted to stop staring, he couldn't help it. Seeing the girl's date follow her around and seeing how good they looked angered him. He wanted her and no other man should be seem with her. They took their sit on a separated table, designed with wordings indicting that it belonged to the birthday girl. As he looked around the hall he noticed that he was not the only one staring at her. Indeed this little creature did got people's attention but too bad his the only one permitted to have her.
His eyes were still locked on the girl when suddenly she was called upon to come take the stage as the birthday girl. She stood up along side her date, gaining the attention of everyone which she already had ever since she walked into the room. She walked majestically to the center of the room. The room immediately fell silent as she spoke with her wine glass.
"Ladies, gentlemen, thanks you for Honoring this invitation. Please enjoy yourselves." She said as she raised her wine glass up "to better days" she said and took a slip of the wine.
"To better days!" Every one in the hall echoed. She smiled softly as she kissed Leo on his cheeks as they both went back to their sit. While on their sit, her mother angrily strolled to where there were sitting and asked her to follow her to meet an important guest leaving Leo behind, the two women made their way to the far corridor of the ballroom.
"Just what the hell do you think you are doing?" Her mother's angry voice asked her.
" what do you mean mother? " she innocently asked while taking a sip of her wine that she held on her arms.
"You disgrace of a child!!!" Her mother's angry voice sounded with so much anger and venom.
"Really?" She asked letting out a bittered laughter. "Really mother? Have you ever stopped to think about how your decisions affect me? Have you asked yourself of what I want? When have you ever considered me? I'm sure your selfish ways is the reason why Zach ran away!!!" Mia shouted, chocking on her own tears. She have definitely had enough and she didn't want to endure anymore. She felt like she could not take it in again.
"You ungrateful child!!" Her mum raised her hands to hit her and she closed her eyes tight patiently awaiting the pain that would come from the slap but none of that happened. When she didn't feel any pain at all, she gently and slowly opened her eye. To her surprise, her mum's hand was on the air and a tight grip was holding unto it, stopping it from landing on her face. Her eye wandered to the owner of the hands as she Wonder who her saving grace is?.
