Chapter 19 - Distress Signal

As the sun rose and set, years passed by in the blink of an eye. The Blue Silver Grass tribe successfully settled within the inner region of the Star Dou Forest.

Over the course of a millennium, many soul beasts in the inner region took notice of this newly emerging power, the Blue Silver Grass.

Some soul beasts had considered driving the Blue Silver Grass out of the inner region to secure more living space. However, when they discovered that there were two Ten Thousand Year Soul Beasts within the Blue Silver Grass territory, namely the Blue Silver King and the Antelope King, they hesitated for a long time.

In the end, only three tribes joined forces to attack the Blue Silver Grass. Among these three tribes, two had expelled the Blue Silver Grass from the inner region thousands of years ago.

They were afraid of retaliation from the Blue Silver Grass and wanted to strike first to gain the upper hand.

However, when they organized their tribes and prepared to launch an attack on the Blue Silver Grass, Ye Die Die revealed her spiritual power.

In the eyes of these soul beasts, her display represented the presence of a Fifty Thousand Year Soul Beast within the Blue Silver Grass territory.

A Fifty Thousand Year Soul Beast was already considered a dominant powerhouse within the inner region. The soul beasts in the inner region were different from those in the chaotic region; they possessed a certain level of intelligence.

After sensing the aura of the Fifty Thousand Year Soul Beast, these three forces quickly retreated and ran towards areas far away from the Blue Silver Grass.

They all fled to the border between the chaotic region and the inner region. As long as they sensed the slightest aggression from the Blue Silver Grass, they would immediately leave the inner region.

However, the Blue Silver Grass had no intention of pursuing them. Ye Die Die had only revealed her spiritual power to avoid a battle.

From then on, all the forces within the inner region became aware of the existence of a Fifty Thousand Year Soul Beast within the Blue Silver Grass territory.

Ah Yin instructed the Blue Silver Grass not to expand towards the outside as much as possible. She feared that if their territory became too large, they would once again face a joint attack from the soul beasts in the inner region.

Meanwhile, the other soul beasts in the inner region also dared not provoke the Blue Silver Grass, fearing retaliation.

The Blue Silver Grass and the other soul beasts continued to coexist peacefully.

Gradually, the other soul beasts acknowledged the presence of the Blue Silver Grass as a formidable force.

...

At this moment, Ye Die Die was taking care of her medicinal herbs.

A month ago, she had noticed that her One-Increase Grass was about to grow into a Two-Increase Grass. However, she couldn't be certain if it would successfully grow. It would only be through this practical experience that she could find the answer.

During this month, Ye Die Die had not been practicing cultivation. She focused on taking care of her little plants and observing whether their growth attributes could develop into Two-Increase Grass.

During this month, she dedicated herself to cultivating medicinal herbs and made an interesting discovery.

Originally, in front of her residence, there were two plots of land. One was a larger field used for cultivating One-Increase Grass, while the other was a smaller plot for cultivating Mental Grass.

A peculiar phenomenon occurred on the edge where one Mental Grass plant was grown. There was a slight mutation.

Normally, the Mental Grass had reached its limit, and it was impossible to continue cultivating it unless she used some sort of cheat or special ability.

However, on this mutated Mental Grass, she discovered that she could continue infusing it with spiritual power.

Driven by curiosity, she began injecting spiritual power into it. After a month of continuous infusion, she noticed that the Mental Grass was starting to grow towards One-Increase Grass.

Although the growth was slow, she could sense that with a few more thousand years of growth, it might develop into a One-Increase Grass on its own.

"Could this be the result of the crossbreeding between Mental Grass and One-Increase Grass? I never expected to witness hybridization in the world of the Douluo Continent."

"(OO)"

As night fell, the One-Increase Grass absorbed the soul power in the air and successfully grew into Two-Increase Grass.

However, Ye Die Die wasn't focused on this at the moment. She realized that it had grown successfully but only sighed in amazement.

"If I were to go to the core area of the Star Dou Forest, would planting Two-Increase Grass there allow it to grow into Three-Increase Grass?"

"It seems that as long as there is an abundance of soul power, the cultivation grass can continue to grow."

She then turned her attention back to her mutated little plant.

In the following period of time, she spent a great deal of time observing and cultivating medicinal herbs instead of practicing cultivation.

Finally, after a year, she successfully mastered the method to mass cultivate One-Increase Grass.

"I truly am a genius. I never expected to apply the biological knowledge I learned in my previous life here," Ye Die Die exclaimed with mixed emotions.

Subsequently, she devoted herself to observing the small plants she had researched every day.

And so, another thousand years passed in the blink of an eye.

On this particular day, the weather was pleasant, with a gentle breeze and bright sunshine.

"Hmm? Why can't I infuse spiritual power into it again? Is this the limit?"

In a small field, Ye Die Die tried to infuse spiritual power into the plant beside her, looking puzzled.

This plant had nine silver-colored patterns on its leaves. The spiritual power contained within it was much stronger than Mental Grass but still not even one-thousandth of a One-Increase Grass.

"It seems I've reached the limit again. If I want to become a One-Increase Grass, I must crossbreed with Three-Increase Grass."

"Never mind, let's see how this works first. If the effect is good, I won't worry about the rest for now."

Ye Die Die picked up the plant with nine patterns, put it in her mouth, and chewed. She carefully absorbed its essence and found that her spiritual power had increased by about five hundred years.

"Not bad, it can increase my spiritual power. It seems the time I spent on this was worth it."

"This plant contains more spiritual power than Mental Grass but still not as much as One-Increase Grass. Let's call it Half-Spirit Grass."

Ye Die Die mumbled to herself and then prepared to immerse herself in cultivation.

"Hmm?"

As she was getting into her cultivation and activating her self-devised technique, the Butterfly Mirage Art, Ye Die Die felt something was amiss. She sensed that someone was calling out to her when she activated the technique.

She opened her eyes and enveloped her spiritual power, trying to detect any soul beasts in the vicinity, but found nothing.

Then, as she resumed her cultivation and activated the Butterfly Mirage Art again, the vague voice reappeared.

Ye Die Die could feel that the voice was calling out to her, but whenever she tried to listen carefully, it became indistinct.

"What's going on? Could there be a soul beast with stronger spiritual power than me calling for me, so I can't sense its presence?" Ye Die Die pondered for a moment.

She extended her spiritual power, trying to locate the source of the voice, but to no avail.

In an attempt to figure out what was happening, Ye Die Die realized that whenever she used the Butterfly Mirage Art, the voice would appear.

"Could there be a problem with the cultivation method I created, the Butterfly Mirage Art?"

She changed her line of thought and began to explore her self-devised cultivation technique, the Butterfly Mirage Art, to see if there was anything wrong with it.

"There's no problem! So, what's going on?"

As Ye Die Die continued to cultivate using the Butterfly Mirage Art, the voice reappeared. This time, she didn't stop her cultivation but instead focused her spiritual power on a specific point.

Finally, she could clearly hear the voice.

"Elder Ancestor! Elder Ancestor! Please save us!"
