Chapter 1 - Loss...And Gain?

I can remember it like it was yesterday, me and my wife had just finished our dinner at the most romantic restaurant in the city, it was called Cupid's Buffet and had the cutest deserts and drinks for couples, we had set a reservation for today as it was our anniversary and it'd been a while since we did anything romantic, so we felt this was the perfect time to do so again.

The food was amazing and so was the service so despite what my wife told me I left the waitress a $120 tip before we left the restaurant, "You really shouldn't have tipped her that much honey, the food was already a lot of money." My wife Michelle said to me as she held my arm whilst we walked towards the car.

"I wanted to, and she deserved it for her great customer service." I look to my wife and say with a semi-irritated expression, she'd always been like this it's like she hates other women, or she just hates me being nice to them all of the time.

"Well you never give me any money for my great customer service." There was a seductive smirk on her face as she looked at me.

"And you don't give me any for mine now do you?" I returned her smirk with one of my own making her giggle, even though she might be sexist to her own gender I still love her dearly and I always will, she's the apple of my eye.

After a few more minutes of walking we made it to the car, it was a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T I got from my dad, he called it Christine like the horror movie, me personally I thought the name was terrible but I have to admit it's grown on me.

"Can I drive this time? You promised you'd let me since it's our anniversary, remember?" Michelle said to me with her signature seductive smirk.

"Of course I remember, I just wish I didn't but here's the keys." I pulled the keys from my pocket and tossed them to her before moving to the passenger side and failing to open the door because she hadn't unlocked the car.

She chuckled at me and pressed the unlock button before getting into the car, I stepped inside also and looked over to her whilst buckling my seatbelt. "Please be careful with her I love this car like my dad did."

"Do you love it more than me?" she looked back at me with a raised eyebrow while starting the car engine and pulling out of the parking space.

"I don't love it that much." I definitely love it that much, though I won't tell her that of course she'd probably get rid of the car if I did.

As we talked she was driving down a long road, it was dark and the headlights only helped her see the road and not what was in front of her because the streetlamps kept flickering, it gave me an eerie feeling like something was about to happen, and something did happen.

Suddenly the windows of the car shattered and we were twisting and turning like a tornado had picked us up and thrown us, my wife's screaming could barely be heard over the sound of the car's metal slamming against the road and the wind coming through the busted windows.

Though her screaming was cut short and so was both of our lives as the roof of the car slammed into a tree killing us both instantly, but as we died and our souls left our bodies for some unknown reason mine went back into my corpse.

The car flipped back onto it's wheels and a figure wearing a weird golden helmet with two horns protruding out of the front and clad in royal green robes ripped the door from the car and pulled me out of it, "Yes you'll do nicely quite handsome just like myself." The figure's face began transforming into my own before out of nowhere a giant hammer flew into its side sending them flying with it.

"Dammit Loki! What have I told you about killing innocents!?" A big man with blond hair was holding out his hand making the hammer that hit Loki fly back to him landing right into his grasp, the blond man was wearing armor that looked like it belonged in a museum and his face made him look like he to belonged in one.

The one called Loki was getting off of the ground and dusting himself off with a nonchalant expression as he looked to the blond man, "And what have I told you about hitting me with your hammer, seems like neither of us listen to each other."

Without warning the blond man levitated off of the ground and flew towards his brother Loki with blazing speeds tackling him right in the chest then flying up into the sky disappearing into the clouds.

As the two seemingly left my corpse began to move and shift around, the broken bones putting themselves back together making crunching and squelching sounds before stopping completely.

My eyes fluttered open and tears welt up in them, I began looking around and remembering what happened, I immediately jumped to my feet and sprinted to the car stumbling a bit on the way from the phantom pain of my bones being crushed just minutes ago, but somehow I pushed through it and made it to the car, I opened the door and pulled her out holding her close and sobbing, but over my sobbing a sound could be heard...
