The trio, Luke, Caleb, and Dion, retreated from the goblin village and found themselves a safe distance away in the dense cover of the forest. The tension that had gripped them during their eavesdropping on the goblin chief and shaman still hung in the air, but now they had a chance to regroup and discuss their next move.
Dion was the first to break the silence, his voice trembling slightly with fear and urgency. "W-We can't just charge in there, Luke. Did you hear what t-they were talking about? A 'master' and reaching a 'quota' for 'pure b-beings.' We might be dealing with something far b-beyond our abilities."
Caleb, however, was itching for action. He clenched his fists, his muscles visibly tensing beneath his new bear claw gauntlets. "I get it, Dion, but we can't let those goblins do whatever they want with those elf kids. We have to act, and we have the skills to take down that chief and shaman. Let's go back and do it now!."
