Karl's POV
I hadn't eaten a bite, waiting for Cecilia to finish her meal. After she had cleared the dishes, I came out and saw her starting to cut the cake again. I untied the cake ribbon for her and sliced a piece with a knife.
Cecilia took it without a word, mechanically putting it in her mouth. She picked apart the filling, which was made of grape pulp, and only ate the cake itself.
Watching her actions, I cut another piece of cake, with only the cake part and very little cream, and replaced the plate in her hand.
She fed herself a bite and said, "Where am I sleeping tonight?"
"We're sleeping together," I replied.
She took a deep breath, the movement of her spoon tightened slightly, "I don't want to do it today."
"I wasn't planning on doing it today either," I said in a calm tone, eating the remaining grape cream filling, "I told you, it's your choice."
"Now I can choose again, right?" She curved her lips.
