Holding onto the wound on his forearm, as his hand subtly vibrated due to the wound's weird pulsations.
"Fucking filthy rodents." He muttered, his voice laden with grit and disgust.
--
"No, no… Leave me the fuck alone… I'll kill you…" Adam said, mumbling in his unconscious state.
"He talks in his sleep." Kaizer said, noticing it first as he was the one carrying Adam.
"This shit is actually real…" Vari mumbled to himself, with his head down.
"I thought we already established that." Kaizer said, as he moved through the muddy area.
"no no, when you get knocked out, you are logged out, same with when you fall asleep in game. I've never heard anyone mumble in their sleep while in game. There really is no longer any place to log out too… This is reality now." Vari said, lost in thought.
"Yeah, its pretty concerning, but I know you know that we all expected this to happen someday, it was being predicted since before the 2000's in fact." Kaizer replied.
"But it's-" Vari tried to respond.
"LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!!!!" Adam lashed out and kicked Kaizer in the back and fell into the mud.
Adam dropped the arm and he reached for it and pointed the arm to Vari and Kaizer as they stepped back to avoid whatever was going on.
"Jester, chill. You are okay. Chill." Vari said calmly as he gestured with his hands and walked closer to Adam who was still sleep drunk.
"Stay away from me! I'll kill you!! I'll bash your head in again!! I'LL DO IT AS MANY TIMES AS POSSIBLE WITH NO REMORSE! LEAVE ME ALONE, BASTARD!!!" Adam yelled out.
"There goes moving silently through this area…" Kaizer said as he grabbed the spear that Moon gave him and began to look around him as he swung it around slowly in his right arm.
"For fucks sake, why do we always get the crazy ones." Vari said as he stepped back to avoid getting touched by the arm.
Kaizer noticed something moving through the almost knee-deep mud. It was obviously coming towards him and without hesitation he took a stance and threw the Spear like a javelin and pierced right through the mud where the thing was.
Kaizer immediately ran towards his spear and pulled it out the mud and also pulled out what seemed to be the corpse of teenager with his spear right through the back of its head and coming out the middle of its eyes.
"Plague disciples." Kaizer said as his signature smile grew on his face.
"I have to knock him out again." Vari said as he went around the arm and kicked the back of Adams head so hard that he fell face flat into the mud again and Vari went through the protocol of making sure the arm was away from him and then lifting Adam unto his shoulder.
"We need to go now." Kaizer said, as he could very obviously hear the loud noises the creatures swimming through the mud were making.
"You didn't have to knock him out, we might need him to fix the problem he caused in a minute." Kaizer said as he ran alongside Vari.
"I'm enough." Vari said as he grabbed the hilt of the rather large axe strapped to his side and let go of the unconscious Adam.
[A/N: Bro picked him up just to toss him back down.]
"You sure about that." Someone asked, in a condescending tone. It didn't even sound like a question.
The minute Vari heard the voice, hie turned his head and was able to easily pinpoint where the voice came from, it was at the top of a tree on the side of the open area where the Plague disciples were creeping.
Vari and Kaizer were trying their best to see who this was in the darkness but in a moment, there was a bright flash of blue light.
They couldn't react quick enough and got slammed head on with the full brunt of attack.
The attack blasted the trio a slight distance away and completely cleared the almost knee-deep mud around them and revealed dark, slimy and worm like moving roots of the trees in the area.
As the displaced mud that was splashed up into the air slowly started returning like rain, Kaizer could be seen with Adam on his shoulder as he sprinted away in the opposite direction.
The attacker was out of breath, holding onto a branch of the tree. It was the old geezer Adam met.
In the blink of an eye, he saw what he perceived as a corpse literally flying towards him.
Valeria was a rather old man so everything felt like it would kill him, but he would've probably sworn under oath that he saw a cloaked figure with a scythe blasting towards him as well.
There was an instant and heavy right to left slash from Vari's axe that was slow but almost unnecessarily powerful.
It cut straight through the tree and if Vari was in a decent state of mind he would've probably cleanly decapitated his opponent.
Vari had his entire upper body almost entirely burnt. His bald head, dry and burnt skin and overall cadence made him look like a skull attached to a human body.
Valeria jumped out the tree, holding unto his chest as he struggled to catch his breath.
Vari saw him running away and tried to catch up but had his course disrupted by a Plague creature that grabbed his foot and made him trip.
Vari turned and without hesitation he swung his axe straight into the mud and cut the creature in half and continued running towards his target.
"Thought this would be a great way to camp and ambush ay? This isn't even a battle royale scenario." Vari said as his speed significantly increased and he swiped his axe at the feet of Valeria, trying to immobilize him when he got close enough.
Valeria trued to jump over it but was just to slow and had his left ankle cleaved apart.
He immediately fell straight into the mud as his blood spread around.
His head covering fell off as a result and Vari stared at the silky white hair that was tied up in a bun under it.
"Pfftttt- it was this bastard." Vari said, almost disappointed.
"Benjamin. I have no qualms with you." Valeria said succinctly, as he slowly recovered his breath.
"Of course you don't, bitch. If you did I'd have your head off by now." Vari replied as he moved his axe slowly in front of Valeria who was not lying on his back.
He nudged the axe in the air and gestured that Valeria try to stand up, but Valeria stared at his almost completely severed left leg and softly declined by pushing the axe away.
"Suit yourself geezer." Vari said as he swung his axe thrice, swatting away and cleaving through two Plague creatures and one Plague disciple.
"Problem child…" Valeria said softly as he sat up and rested his back against a tree.
"I don't know, probably out somewhere doing 'Problem Child' things I guess, causing problems and being one." Vari responded as he knelt down on one knee in the mud and waited for a strange black cloud to move out of the way of one of the moons and he reflected the light from it on the surface of his axe and made it flicker by shaking it around.
This was a signal that the trio; Vari, Kaizer and Moon had made a while back, so Vari expected it to be able to bring Kaizer back around.
"I need to tell you something." Valeria said as he pulled out what seemed to be grinded tree and bark from his little pouch and apiece of cloth, which he tried to apply around his ankle and bandage up, but there was too much damage done to everything and he gave up.
"What is it geezer?" Vari asked as he saw Adam and Kaizer running down towards him. The flashbang woke the jester up too.
"Problem Child will make things past scenario 25 extremely hard. His presence now will surely lightly affect Scenario 1 through 10. He needs to go." Valerian said, with a stern voice.
Kaizer ran up and almost sped his spear right through Valeria's head, but he was stopped by Vari.
"Listen to me, Geezer. As long as I'm on his side, none of that matters to me. So, you better learn your multiple lessons and understand this point. This isn't a game no more… Make another mistake like this and be unfortunate to have Moon around and I promise you will be done for. He has ended careers and probably took lives in the real world before this. I'm sure the kid has no problem killing." Vari said sternly, in response as he scooped the cold mud with his hands and coats it all over his head and face.
The Green glitches started happening right in front of characters faces and then the system panel opened up.
『WARNING!
-Plague Wave Approaching
WARNING!
-Corrosive Rain Clouds Developing
WARNING!
-Plague Creature Population doubled and Plague Disciple Strength doubled.』
"What does that mean?" Adam asked as he read the contents of the panel that just abruptly popped out of the green glitches.
"It means we are fucked." Kaizer said with a huge unsettling smile on his face.
